Do you guys feel the sorrow in Jay's music????

i've been listening to his songs these few months n i've noticed that most of his songs carries 1 msg which is heartaches/break-ups/pain... :cry:
such as An Jing,Fen Lie,Kai Bu Liao Kou,Ni Bi cong Qian Kuai Le,Hei Se You Mo,Qing Tian(they parted at last),n even his latest one gui Ji and Duan Le De Xian...wat do u all think?

ya i completely agree... but this is wat his love song so touching... and this is oso wat makes us love him so much... We jus feel that we have to protect him from e pain... Like he will find happiness with us... hee...hee...

Hahaz... Yalorz... But most of the songs, not only Jay's songs, emphasize on break-ups, pain etc... Hahaz... However, Jay's songs is still de best in carrying the msg to us, the listeners... But Jay oso have quite a few songs which links to the chinese tradition stuffs like long quan, ye ye pao de cha, shuang jie kun etc... His songs always have a different and unexpected style... :bleh:

At first, I do feel some what saddened when reading the translation but when I hear it a bunch of times and then keep on reading the translation.. I start to get amazed at how the lyrics are written... lots of metaphors/qualified metaphors... the lyrics are really creative that I don't whether to feel saddened or amused...

For example.. when I first read broken string... I was like whoa... sad.... but amazing how you can relate love to a string.. or love to a tornado that comes and goes etc.

So I have mixed feelings about his lyrics. :)

Yep, there is.. when I heard broken strings just like pugwash has said, I almost could relate his music to my heart.. it's like a healing medicine for me.. it's sad but I din cry out.. but slowly through the lyrics, I understand that love can't be forced when it has gone away..

Seriously, the way Jay can convey emotions through his music and singing just .. amazes me. I love how he doesn't sing like some robot, but with feeling. With almost all of his slower songs, I always sigh after hearing them.

I really like Jay singing Hei Se You Mo.... When you heard him sing that song, you will feel the sadness in his voice. The lyrics was kind of depress too. The way he sang Gui Ji was kind of sad too... Esp the beginning it was like slowly and smoothly...

Yeah! I oso like de way he sang Gui Ji... Very sad... Oso maybe becuz of de movie... But by listening to de music, it makes me feel sad... I think Anjing is oso nice cuz de lyrics is very meaningful... Esp de sentence "wo hui xue zhe fand qi ni shi ying wei wo tai ai ni"...

Yep, his songs do have the sorrow in them.. Especially An Jing, one of my favourites. His songs always have a lot of feelings and energy in them, which makes them so unique. They're just so different from other singers.

i really feel the sadness and pain from Jay's album...he always have different degree of sadness from each of his album...from black humour..silence..go back to the past..cloudless day till now Gu Ji...all those songs are so heart-broken songs.. :cry:

sometimes i even wonder if he got any experiences on those sad songs he compose..feel so sad for him..but i only knew that Si Jie Mo Ri - End of the world is composed for a girl...she is so lucky..the story behind it was written in one of the Jay's magazine...

hell yeah i feel sorrow from jay's songs!!!! he is such a LIFE SAVER!!!! without jay's songs..i just cannot imagine how i still survive!!! i am being to extreme..but it's true!!! aw man.....maybe i should write jay some of my experiences and hope that my story will be picked by him....and my story will be in history FOREVER!!!! i have a lot of pass experiences.....family...friends.....love.....many many!!!! wouldn't it just be cool to be picked??? at least we cannot be picked as his beloved...at least our stories can right? hahaha!!! j/k!!! but jay said he got his topic of songs from hearing story from others!! shit!!!! of course! :excited: sometimes you can really hear the emotions he put into his songs. u feel not just sorrow but happiness when you hear light hearted songs like grandfather's tea and simple love.
i remembered the first time i heard an jing, i was immediately touched by the way he sung it. that song became my instant favourite. when i hear slow songs from jay, i didn't cry though. why would i? :? i'm not that emotional.
but rather than crying, i get goosebumps and sparks flew. :happy:

Gui Ji n Broken string: tat happened at that exact time when my heart was broken by a gurl, so "chun"... poor me... feelin so down already, yet stil listenin to these songs, even sadder!

there's even more, like, "going back to time" "split" "ban tau tie he", "can't open my mouth"... so much tat was related to me...

y does god wanna play wif me? i juz bought a cake n a cute present 4 a gurl yesterday, n wanna giv it to her 2day, but... yesterday she rejected it! i was so angry tat i threw the cake onto the floor, threw the present into the rubbish bin, n i even threw my handphone out of my car when i came home from a movie. luckily my SIM card is stil ok, n i took my card out on the road! haha... the pass by cars was so shocked!

I think we feel the emotions and sorrows or even anger from jay's songs because he puts and places his emotions in it.

Probably that's the thing that Jolin lacks in her singing, that made jay chou try to make her keep singing.

Yea, Jay is getting better in 'inserting' emotions into his songs. It makes his songs which are already so good to be even better! :) Some songs like 'Dad im back', there's a sense that he's at a lost of what ta do.

For Jolin, i still find her voice a little too -hair stands-. :laughing:

oh ya^^ i really agree this. After listening and looking at all the lyrics of all jay's songs... I also realised that it's true. Because of that, sometimes i'll tears when i listen to his songs when i'm feeling down. Well... that proves that jay really put in his feeling in his songs, therefore we can feel it too^^ keke

Yeah, Jay's lyrics were so touching to me too, but the thing was, i had nothing to relate to him in an jing and dad, i'm back, yet those were the songs that touched me the most! i mean, it was the way he sung it, like it seems u can feel his pain and that he felf that pain for so a certain amount of time... :cry:

yes i do feel the sorrow...but heck, more than half of jay's songs are like that! it's just a particular style of his, i dont think it actually means anting. look at 'ba wo hi lai le' (dad im back), that was full of hatred and anger yet it had nothing to do with his own father, it was written about a friend's dad. then again, maybe jay is sad that he still hasnt found a true love...well, i'm waiting jay! :love:

definitely. he's one of 1 2 3 ok the first ever artist who has ever made me cry because of a song. i mean his songs are so sad and emotional sometimes you kinda get sucked into the song and feel what he feels.
im just learning chinese so i get some words once in a while but most of time i dont know whats being said so when i listen i kinda just listen...and later when i read the translations along with listening to the music, i swear there were so many times that i wanted to cry. :cry:
not only sorrow, but also joy, those im so in love with you or cute songs like ke ai nu ren and jian dan ai when i read the translations, i was giggling coz the words were just so cute and that actually put me into a good mood. his songs are so touching, i so wish it all happens to me, sad or not!!++||

Yeah most of Jay's sons really sad, make me cry esp. Gui Ji, Kai Bu Liao Kou (perfect match and more sad wz FFX mv which provided by Chun Li :yeah: ), An Jing, Ban Dao Tie He.

yeah when i'm sad, i listen 2 Hui Dao Guo Qu (Back to the Past) they make me sad...his songs i mean. well, sum of them. the slower ones.

Yes, I see the sadness in Jay's songs especially "an jing" and "Kai Bu Liao Kou." In the Ai Qing spacial where Jay acted, these songs where used in some scenes, you can feel the sadness of the songs.

You can feel the sorrow by just readin his lyrics, let alone actually listenin to the song. He's very modest and shy, and his pain really bleeds through into his music. I mean he has so many songs like Can't Open Mouth, Silence, End of the World etc, who could not get the impression that Jay Chou was suffering while he wrote it? His songs are quite touching. I haven't loved music olike the way I love his since the Smashing Pumpkins. :blush:
