Yeah! another favourtie group of mine.... I love the female vocalist in the group called Fergie... She's so sweet... Their no 1 hit single Where is The Love is so fabulous... The lyrics are meaningful... So worth buying their album... :happy: Anybody like them too??

Well, particularly I hate the music (if you can call it one) made by the Black Americans (Sorry :cry: !!!)...I find it too vulgar and I can't seem to find anything that's worth listening to...but when I heard the song of Black Eyed Peas, I was so shocked and was so happy because finally, there's a band that raps not of nonsensical things but of moral issues...And they're quite nice too!!! when Black Eyed Peas released 'Where is the Love' last year, they became song went to number 1 and stayed their for a good few weeks and they deserve it as the song is very catchy and the lyrics are really meaningful.
Fergie's singing on it was really good as it went well with the rap that the guys did on it and it was also a good opening for the MTV awards, i think.

There second single 'Shut up' was also quite good but i prefer ' where is the love' better though.

Black Eyed Peas are alright. They had a longgg hiatus in releasing songs, but I have to admit they made a pretty good comeback. The Christian groups ruined the Where is the Love song for me, thought. Used it for their Christian-y purposes. What I like about them is that they don't sound like everyone else. They have a very unique style.

Evenstar's thing about hating black music was offensive. What if people said Chinese music had no rhythmn or something else harsh? A Chinese (Chinese Chinese, not ABC) "friend" of mine said the same thing about black music, something about their beats are too harsh or whatever. I put friend in quotations because I'm no longer friends with her. She was just too offensive, but I guess people are entitled to their opinions.

People could miss out on a lot of good things by being too narrow-minded. Evenstar almost missed out on Black Eyed Peas, because she hated black music. I almost missed out on Jay Chou, because I thought Chinese music sucked (actually it was just Canto-pop. I have yet to find a good Canto-pop song, so PM me with any suggestions).

Saw them last night in concert. Had free tickets ! (ok, don't hate me) They ended the concert with an awesome rendition of "Where is the Love". Most people were on their feet and waving their arms like mad.

:excited: i heard the whole album of BEP and it is really good... they mix different kind of genres together and is really awesome. oh, and thnx for translating the Apl song, i had know idea what it meant, now i finally get it. I also thought it was funny the "puertorican girls" i have alrady tried 10 times to pronounce it like they do, but man its hard!!! :D "shut up"and "where's the love" are classics and i like them also.. but there is one called "let's get retarded" which they also re-sand for the NBA playoffs 2004 theme song, which has a awesome beat and rythm to it. i love it! :) and the song "anxiety" i also like it, which they sang with Papa Roach (i think), gets you screaming and relieving a little bit of stress. there is a little bit of funk, hip-hop, rock, a mix in the whole album, there are even some tracks which resemble some Brazilian beat, in general really good album which should be purchased... glad that they were in Phillipines so you guys could enjoy their show, shame i don't have the same opporutnity!! and man, can the dance!!!

I recently went to Black Eyed Peas concert and they are really AWESOME singing LIVE :excited: I was actually going to the concert not expecting it to be great and not expecting much - but, was I ever shocked! They really know how to make the crowd go wild and by the time they finished singing the night's first song EVERYONE was on their feet! :D

Basically, if you were still sitting you'd be looking at the butt of someone in front of you...hahaa....I was on the first bleacher and the view was still very very good. And the most amazing voice is Fergie's.....wow! :excited: She truly has the talent and was showing off her strong voice by doing many high notes. I was surprised! When they sang "don't phunk with my heart" the crowd really went wild....since it's their latest most played song on the radio...practically everyone was singing along....it was a blast. At one point, they had all the lights off and everyone was to turn on their cell phone - practially everyone had one and it was pretty cool to see little lights light up all over the venue.

The most expensive souvenirs - they sold...
A BEP t-shirt with their faces on it - sold for $50! That was a ripoff in my opinion.... :rolleyes: but i guess if you were a die-hard fan, you'd buy one just as a souvenir of the concert.

I think Monkey business is a great Cd and I highly recommend it. Don't Lie and Pump it are also very good songs!

You're right, they really know how to work a crowd....they made it almost into a nightclub - everyone was dancing to their songs and singing along.

Fergie's voice was impressive for most of the songs...but she couldn't reach some of her higher notes on certain songs...I think that her running around and dancing all over the stage exhausted her... :D

LOL I love how the showed the traits of the typical Filipino mother. I also liked the grandpa bit at the beginning. And it comes with cameo appearances by Pinay American Idol finalists Jasmine Trias and Camille Velasco. It was like a reunion of great artists of Philippine heritage with APL leading the pack. Anyway, 'bebot' is a Filipino slang for lady or chick.
I hope they'll release the song as the fifth single from Monkey Business.

finally got the chance to watch bebot music videos. love them, but i prefer the first generation one because the music video tells a historical event (well a lil event) of asian american history. set in 1936 as the music video says, a time when filipinos arrive in cali as farm workers, since i think by this time chinese and japanese immigration was banned, and i think this was before filipino immigration was banned years later.
so they're dancing in a dance hall, you see guys holding lil piece of paper, tickets, cuz back then there were more filipinos males than females-pinays. so in order for guys to dance with girls, they have to buy tickets that let girls to pick and have a limited time for dancing with them. thats why we see guys hovering over the girls.

love the ending of generation one of the old man revisiting what used to be manila town.

while the generation two music video fits more of our generation, where music videos are okay of just having people in it just chilling and dancing around.

hmm. i don't really know what to make of michael jackson and Will.i.am though. BEP are an amazing group. I first heard their song "where is the love" and i've loved them every since.
By any chance, did anyone go see them when they were on tour?

Fergie Fergie Fergie lol..she's actually got a very pretty voice in their first single "Where is the Love feat. Justin Timberlake",which is when Justin himself had a decent voice.

He sung so well in that song that I didn't even realize that it was him.That was the only true song that I ever loved from them & ever since,they've been releasing played out mediocre radio friendly songs.^^:bleh:
