okay, I seached and found out that there's no topic on her. plus out all the pop female singers came out when mostly everyone thought pop was good, she's my favorite, i mean by her personality. now these days she is seen dating with Andy Roddick. Plus on interivews she want to own back people moneys who bought her first cd. oh and here's a news i found about her.
-----------------
Mandy Moore won't do reality TV showWASHINGTON (AP) -- So much for the chance of seeing what Mandy Moore and her boyfriend Andy Roddick do behind closed doors. The singer-actress says she's not interested.
"I love watching reality shows, but I would never want to be in or on a reality show," Moore told AP Radio.
She says she doesn't think her life is exciting enough for people to watch. "It's pretty boring. You'd see me watching TV or reading a magazine or a book," Moore she said.
Moore asserted that a behind-the-scenes show about tennis player Roddick also will never happen. "It was supposed to be like a documentary or something at first, and then someone kind of took that and ran with it and it kind of snowballed I guess out of context," Moore said.
Moore said if someone close to her were in such a show, she wouldn't stick around long enough to be in it.

So what do u guys think of her? :wink2:

well, she actually *was* on the osbournes once (even if it was a brief appearance), which would actually qualify as a reality tv show, i think. :wink2:
anyway, even though she's quite cute and certainly not as annoying as some of the other girly singers, i still think that she looks... well... a bit artificial, like some barbie doll. her voice (or at least the way her producers make her sound like) reminds me of britney spears.

i think she's cute. she's quite tall. i remember watching her when she came on the scene not too long and that she seemed a bit awkward at times because she's so young and lanky. i like some of her ballads... I Wanna Be With You, Only Hope, Cry, etc. her voice is quite good, so i wouldn't make the comparison with britney. and her acting is much better. i loved "A Walk To Remember" and "The Princess Diaries" was pretty good, too.
i really liked a Walk to Remember, one of my favorite movies. made me cry at the end though. she is a decent actress, and quite pretty.
i heard somewhere she considers herself more of an actress than a singer. :? i dunno...i dont even watch US TV anymores

Oh... I think she's okay. I don't absolutely love her but I don't hate her. I guess I do like her a little. She used to have long blond hair but now she has short brown hair. I'm not sure which style looks better on her. Supposedly her current hairstyle works better for her.
I think she's an okay singer. At least she's better than Britney Spears. People used to compare Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Mandy Moore, and Jessica Simpson because they all started at around the same time and they all had long blond hair at that time.
Mandy is tall. Actually, even though she's 20 (I think) now, her body was still quite a girl's body when she started out. I've seen some of her recent pix and there was so much difference between her body now and before. Now she's very curvy. Before that she just looked like a boy.
I'm surprised she's a pretty good actress. She and Britney had their movie debuts at around the same time and I think her movie did so much better than Britney's. And she went on to make a few more movies after that.
All in all, I think she's okay. I like her. :wink2:
Er... I'm not a fan of Mandy Moore (oddly I bought her first album though!), and yes, I do agree that she is artificial... there's just something about her that seems fake for some reason... and oh yeah... I like some of her songs but I hate her videos! I can't stand the way she moves her lips (just watch and you'll know what I'm talking about hopefully!)

. People used to compare Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Mandy Moore, and Jessica Simpson because they all started at around the same time and they all had long blond hair at that time.
Out of the 4 that Vunsin mentioned, Mandy is the most under-rated. Maybe bcos she's least sexily and provocatively dressed? you be the judge. I have this feeling that she's the most level-headed between the 4.
She acts better too. Well, at least I'm not bias cos many movie critics say the same. Anyway, when I first heard "I wanna be with you", I thought to myself - hmm.. this is from Mandy Moore? My goodness, it's a real song. So unlike the Britney music. Does anyone remember which show plays this song? Enlighten me please.
Now she's very curvy. Before that she just looked like a boy.
I hope she stays the same and not turn into a Madonna-wannabe (tsk x2... read: Britney on my lips) overnight.

Actually, until recently, Jessica Simpson was the least provocatively dressed. She grew up in a religious family and she didn't even wear tank tops until recently! And she also remained a virgin until she married. Now she's more "open."
"I wanna be with you" .... Does anyone remember which show plays this song? Enlighten me please.
Erm.. are you talking about the movie "Center Stage?"

yeah, i remember all those peeps coming out around the same time. there was instant comparison. jessica has a really powerful voice. she had a lot of experience singing in church and stuff, i think. and being raised in a religious home affected her beliefs, so i guess that's why she chose to be more conservative and also to remain a virgin till marriage. but yeah, she become more "open" as time went by. i think it's sweet when i see her and nick together. =)
and yup, "center stage" is the movie where mandy's "i wanna be with you" song was part of the soundtrack. i was interested in seeing that movie, but didn't get a chance to. just caught the MV for the song.
msv, i haven't seen too many mandy videos, but i remember watching the one for "cry" (?) at the end of the movie "a walk to remember" and it just distorted the song. the video concept just didn't go with the song at all. i wished they had just taken the easy way out and used scenes from the movie plus snippets of her here and there doing the singing. that would've probably turned out better.

i didnt like mandy at the beginning. yea, the way she moved her lips really annoyed me. but then it got less. i really liked 'i wanna be with you'. and i liked 'in my pocket'. it was so different to all the things other artists like her were releasing.
jessica simpson and nick together are cute, but then i dont like their show thingo. i dont think it aired in australia, but ive seen clips from it.
i know everyone compares jessica simpson and mandy moore, but i cant really compare them. its like,, theyre too different. :shrugs:

When she first came out, she was a totally packaged bubble-pop-princess. I can still remember her debut song and film clip, "Candy". She grew out of that rather quickly though. And now that she's a brunette, she has said that she's 'found herself', and will never go back to being a blonde. :D
I've never loved her music or anything, but I respect that she doesn't use her body or looks to promote herself.
Funny how everyone KNOWS Britney's the worst singer out of those 4, yet she's probably the most popular (with competition from Christina, of course)

I like Mandy. So far from the "divas" from her generation, she has the most values and most humble of them all. And her voice is very sweet and her choice of songs suit her. I did not like her first single though. I though it was too bubblegum pop (though they were aiming for that). And the way she dance at that MV
She has improved as an artist though. At least we could see her maturing in the right direction.
On the side: I just Britney's new MV "toxic"...

im not that really big of a mandy moore fan. her movies seem to all revolve around the topic that she's holding back on some guy. of course she falls in love with him in the end and "overcomes" her problems. a walk to remember was ok but saving liberty was a total remake of a disney channel movie call "My date with the president's daughter". of course this is just mai opinion. -_-

i really like a walk to remember a lot and i think the songs she sang in the soundtrack was great! didnt like her when she first came out but yeah, she has truly improved alot and jus be herself. i have't watched chasing liberty but I'm anticipating the movie since she is in it :wink2: think she is not a bad actress at all considering she is able to potray dif roles well....like from being a sweet girl in 'a walk to remember' to being a bitchy cheerleader in 'princess diaries'....

mandy moore......i used to like her but now she's just annoying..i mean, i appreciate her whole good girl look and attitude cuz it's hard to find a good role model these days that don't look like sluts and act like it...but she gets on my nerves after a while..she's an alrite actress..a walk to remember was one of my fave movies...it was a good, well brought out movie but in how to deal....wowww...that was just bad...mayb it was just the whole plot(which had such a horrible storyline) but i didn't like her acting int hte movei...
i like her songs..some are too pop-y for me but they're good...they're not as lil kid as candy was...i like her choice of songs thoguh..her new album is all ..er..mostly remixes of old songs and i think that's really cool

I used to like her, now I seriously don't. She once had this image of cute, innocent little girl kind of and I thought that suited her. Now she's this girl who put on her list of things to do before she's 30 or something "cuss someone out".. I mean, come on what a stupid goal. Now she's just ditz and someone I didn't expect her to be. It's like, if you want one persona, stick with it. Don't be bad and pretend to be cutesy innocent and good at the same time, it doesn't work.

Mandy Moore discusses covers album
By NEKESA MUMBI MOODY
Associated Press
NEW YORK -- The idea of Mandy Moore covering the songs of Joni Mitchell, Carole King and Joe Jackson may seem as surreal as Britney Spears doing an album of Bob Dylan classics.
After all, this is the Mandy Moore who started out four years ago as a Spears clone with the saccharine hit Candy. The 19-year-old who starred in youth-centric movies like The Princess Diaries and A Walk to Remember, whose boyfriend is 21-year-old tennis champ Andy Roddick.
Moore acknowledges that her new album, Coverage, may deliver a bit of a shock -- and that's just what she's hoping for.
"I'm anticipating people looking at me just a little bit different," she says, "whether they like my interpretations of the song or not. Like, 'Never expected it from Mandy Moore. I didn't like her music before, and maybe I still don't like it, but well, kudos for her for trying something different.'"
That it certainly is. On Coverage, Moore tackles classics that might intimidate even veteran singers, including King's I Feel The Earth Move, Carly Simon's Anticipation and Blondie's One Way Or Another.
Most of the songs are older than Moore herself. Still, many were relatively new discoveries for Moore in her quest to evolve from bubblegum singer to serious artist.
"I think the whole process started off by discovering someone like Joan Armatrading, and it's sort of a domino effect," Moore said.
"She just opened up this whole completely new world to me -- there's someone singing with grit and emotion, and it's raw and she lets her voice crack, and it's amazing. She's like strong and independent, and I don't know, I hadn't really heard anything like that," she adds with wide-eyed excitement.
It's certainly not the kind of music that Moore, who was raised on Broadway show tunes, was singing when she made her debut in 1999 with So Real, which sold just under one million copies. Describing that album now, Moore winces like a starlet trying to explain away racy photos taken before her fame.
"I'm embarrassed, yeah. It's just bad. It's just bad pop. It's just tacky and terribly produced. It's horrible!" she says, mortified. "I was so annoying. Just annoying."
But Moore came along at a time when Spears, Christina Aguilera, 'N Sync and the Backstreet Boys ruled the charts, when just about anything teen and pop was a success.
Her fame continued to rise even as the teen pop bubble burst. MTV, impressed by her good looks, charm and effervescent personality, tapped her to host many of its specials, helping boost her fan base.
"We thought, maybe there's a personality there, and very quickly, that personality cut through and connected with the MTV audience," said Amy Doyle, the channel's vice-president of music programming.
That served as a jumping point to film. Her breakthrough role was in the 2001 tear-jerker A Walk To Remember, a hit with teens. Earlier this year, she appeared in the teen drama How to Deal and was heralded as one of Hollywood's hot teens on the cover of Vanity Fair.
Moore has distanced herself from the teen pop queens she came up with. While Spears and Aguilera are asserting their adulthood with risque pop songs and nearly naked poses, Moore has eschewed the Maxim strategy with a girl-next-door image.
Moore grimaces at the idea of even trying to be a sexpot.
"I've just become a woman -- I'm getting used to that. The last thing I want to do is have someone photograph me not wearing anything," says Moore, who lives at home in Los Angeles with her parents and brother.
"I'm pretty wholesome, I'm pretty boring. I don't do anything. I'm not crazy, there's no dirt to find. I'm not a big partier, clubber, drinker, drug abuser. I guess I am pretty wholesome in that sense."
n
Wholesome sells pretty well, and Moore's star continues to rise in film. In music, however, it has dwindled.
Her last disc, 2001's Mandy Moore, was well received critically but sold just 443,000 copies, compared with 943,000 for So Real, according to Nielsen Soundscan.
"It bummed me out a lot at first, because I loved the music, and I have a lot more creative control than I ever had in the past, so I felt a part of the album," Moore says of Mandy Moore.
"I started to do the kind of acousticy stuff before that became popular, but I guess no one wanted that from me."
After that album, Moore concentrated more on her film career -- and spent time exploring different musical styles, going to record stores and randomly buying music from the likes of Jackson, Mitchell and '80s British pop group XTC.
Coverage was an experiment, recorded with her own money, without her record company, Epic, even knowing about it, she says. It debuted to modest sales and mixed critical reviews.
And Moore says she's not worried about sales. She just wants to get the music out there -- and hopefully, a whole new audience will discover it, as she did.
"I'm not necessarily worried about losing out on any particular audience. I just know how good these songs are. I have faith in these songs," she says. "They're timeless, they're classic, and I just want to introduce people my age to this music, because there's a lot of crap out there -- and I was part of it!"

well mandy moore is quite an achiever, i must say. at such a young age, she has accomplished so much. all her albums had millions of copies sold, she has made about 10 movies and her face is seen almost everywhere(commercials, ads, etc) in America! not to mention, she's dating a tennis star who is, btw, totally foine! :wink2:

yea, i like mandy but as an actress. i mean no doubt that she has an amazing voice and talent, but the music that she always portray is very "so yesterday" pop barbie kind of rip off. i think shez better off as an actress.
another thing i like about her is coz of her modesty and shez always kept her a clean image of herself, un-hypocrite n kept a low profile.
a walk to remember was the bomb flick man, wit shane west...esp. the part when he falls for her during the school play, making him forget his lines...let alone kiss her!!!

I am not really a fan of Mandy Moore but I really like her as a celeb because of her personality. She seems really sweet, have charisma.. there's just something about her that's different compared to the other pop artist like Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears. I think she's also naturally pretty. I really liked her when she was in A Walk to Remember. She've also stared in other movies but I don't think they did that well. (I haven't seen it either) I think her singing is ok though it could be better. I got the latest issue of Teen Vogue and it has a featured article on her and I read that she's going to work on her acting a bit and try to stay away from teen flicks.. and she's going to improve on her singing too (stay away from bubble gum pop).
Here's a picture of her on the cover of Teen Vogue:

I think she's pretty and she seems very sweet ( though looks are decieving), however, I agree that she does seems artificial at times, especially her singing. Which there's really no point because she can't sing and her voice gets really annoying. I think she should stick to acting than singing.

I couldn't agree more. Gah.. it was painful to listen to her. Her excuse is probably "I'm 15 and still trying to grow up"... yeah right... her voice still sound fake
If I were her I'd stick to acting. Considering all the songs she sang, which one ever hit the charts and really made it big? -_- exactly. If she sticks to acting, its going to benefit her career more and she's sp much better at acting than singing too.

No, I saw the pictures in a magazine.
The pics were taken when they were vacationing in Australia
(Or was it during the Australian Open?)
The couple were walking on the streets and Andy's left arm was over Mandy's left shoulder
and his hand was over Mady's left breast and the funny thing is Mandy looked surprised like this:

Mandy Moore has admitted that she is considering shaving her head.
The singer turned actress wants to rid herself of her luscious locks and go bald
after seeing Natalie Portman sporting the unusual look in the film V for Vendetta this year.
She was quoted in The Sun saying,
"I'm thinking of shaving my head...It looked great on Natalie Portman."

She actually was pretty good in A Walk to Remember also & her
performance actually touched my heart. At least she seems more
original than Britney though.
Hopefully, her voice matures to a more powerful voice so she can
start singing more powerful songs.^^:bleh:
