ok, the rest of the list is quite pointless :wink2: as i dun really know who were nominated so i cannot comment on them.
But the point is....
Is Wang Li Hong better than Jay? :glug: i mean Wang Li Hong is good, but then his album is not as popular and also not all the songs are as outstanding, but jay's is different.....
But think jay deserves the best singer-composer award.

Best composer award and Best Producer award are the award titles that Jay always wanted to win. Happy for Jay for winning one the awards. :roll:
I remember Jay said before that even if he wins Best Singer award, he will feel that he don't deserve it.. coz he's strong points are at composing and making music... :sing: other singers with good vocals should win it. :wink3: So it does matter whether he win the Best Singer award. As long the Best Composer title is his. :thumbsup:

Definitely Jay is more popular n not bcuz of his looks, but his talent. I hear mani ppl hu likes Lee Hom saying "Wang Li Hong hen shuaiii!!!". Personally, I juz cant bring myself to like Lee Hom. I dunno y. Perhaps it is his geng shuai poses or his geng ABC way of rapping. Not distinctive at all. It is juz too over for me. His music does not have a style of their own. Jay is THE ONE.
*Plus he has the fantastic lyricists.

Leehom definitely has a better voice than Jay. First of all, he's gone through so much voice training as part of his formal schooling! And second of all, his voice is just deeper and sexier than Jay's. That's just my opinion. And he's a pretty talented musician also. Jay is a very talented composer/musician, and his voice and singing are above average, but that's just not one of his strongest selling points. So, I think I'm satisfied with the results. :happy:

Jay also got one of the 3 awards for Best Song with "Qing Tian". :D the other 2 recipients of the Best Song award were Stefanie Sun with "Yu Jian" and A-Mei Chang with "Yong Gan". =)

previously, i translated the awards ceremony literally as "Worldwide Chinese Music Chart of Charts" awards ceremony. so, i guess it's supposed to be the Chinese Music Awards (CMA) officially? :happy: anyway, i just discovered from another article that this awards show is actually organized by Channel V. a lot of stars attended the event in Shanghai, including Faye Wong, Lee Hom Wang, A-Mei Chang, Eason Chan, Shu Qi, George Lam, Sally Yeh, etc. Jay wasn't there though. so, i guess chun li and abra wouldn't have been able to track him down. :bleh:

i agree with Vunsin somewhat on her appraisal of Leehom's voice and of Jay's composing abilities. they are both great at what they do, so it's only fair that they be acknowledged with awards such as these.

personally, I like Lee Hom/Alex more than Jay...although everyone thinks Jay is way better and stuff..I like him coz he's like really cute and his voice is really nice...but Jay composes better songs...

As for Wang Leehom, well, i heard a few of his songs on TV, he's alright. of course i'd love it more if the award was also taken by Jay, but this way it's ok too. Actually i think to compose is much more difficult than to sing, especially to compose like Jay does it. Has Jay ever composed any songs for Wang Leehom? It seems that he has composed songs for almost every singer in China! That just proves that he is the best!

congrats to jay for getting what he wished . i've listened to wang lee hom since he came out and even though his music is nice , it never affected me the way jay's does . his songs are easy to listen but no impact on the soul .
i hope you do not mind if i disagree with you vunsin about : wangleehom being trained vocally " compared with jay . personally i thinks there's no singer whose voice can become so sweet and soul in one song , so sweet and raw in another and so hot and cool in others . jay's voice is not trained - it's god- given . sorry to be biased but just my humble opinion.

Jay must be happy, though he did not win the best singer award. I agree that Wang Lee Hom is a good singer n that is true for me, his voice is pure....decent....but of course Jay has his own style of singing, so we can't really decide who's better, though i thought that Jay should win the award.

ok well. SO many of you think lee hom deserves the award, fine. i does agree he has a good voice too and he did won the best male singer in taiwan's golden melody award a few years ago. but when jay did not get an award he got nominated, i do feel jealous. haha....
yah, the main thing is that jay won the best composer/singer as he is really a good musician but as a singer he does have to improve.

I agree with what most of you here. Lee hom deserves the best singer award. His voice his nice [though i only hafe one song of his]. and Jay who really wants the 'best composer' award so much deserves it! Personally, i think the 'best composer' award worth more than the other one for a composer. [Duh!]

Lee hom does english songs too rite? or rather some parts are english. It's great to know that Jay is much much much much more popular around the world including western countries than Lee Hom who is a sorta ABC. This really show Jay's ablity man! Not tt i doubt it before..

Another thing, Jay doesnt seem to be appearing in the prize presentation most of the time. Bet he is too busy bout other stuffs. But i really wish to catch Jay at the shows! Hees.. once i read a article, there a short part it said Jay was so busy tt he cant manage to write the songs he promised other singers! Gee, Jay! No matter how busy, yo hafta take care of your health too ya?! Haha!

Well Wang Li Hong is a talented guy as well, his songs are good too but I cant just accept his heavily slanted ABC accent when he sings. :wink2:
