hey, do u guys know there's dis new taiwan group named R&B?? weeird name for a group! when the dj said it, i tot he was just remarking on the style of music used by artist.

well, anyway, it's a group of 7 ppl. 5 guys and 2 gals. AND get this, one of the gals' name is ZAI ZAI. YES, as in zaizai vic zhou yu ming. :glug:
when i heard it, i was like WHAT THE HELL? the dj said that that gal looks quite like vic so she call herself zaizai. imagine a girl version of vic :crazy: ....not that hard to think about since vic does look lyk a girl anyway. no offence to vic chou's fans.

i heard their new song. not WOW kind of music. not my kind of taste.

Well, from the looks of it, it's another dance group...I believe they were launched as a group from the series entitled "Dolphin's Bay" (there's an episode in these series where there's this "Skywalk Concert" and artist from the SET company gathers all together and have a concert to launch new artists) ...Anyway, the girl who claims herself to be "Zaizai" is in 5566's new series called "WestSide Story"...And take note, her nick wasn't coincidence...her name was actually "Chou Lichen" and since she "looks" like Vic Zhou from F4, herfriends started to tease her like that...

It's impossible not to hear of R&B if you have watched Wan Quan Yu Le. Even if they don't appear, their names are bound to be mentioned. I thought R&B was a stupid name since their songs are so very pop. Apparently R=red (girls) and B=blue (boys). :dry:
They don't use F4, not at all, they have 5566 to help them. Anyway, from what I've seen I do like Zaizai. She's very shy and sweet. The guys aren't cute at all though. :bleh:

well i first heard of them on wan quan yu le.. since they are 5566's juniors they frequently appear on the show and some mini advertisement is always done for them.. oh yea and i saw their MV on chinese mtv chinese many times.. haha but i dunno if i actually watched it finished before.. cos usually after watching 20 secs i switch the channel.. i don't think i've heard the other song you've mentioned..

Did anyone watch the "Xiao Gang Lao Shi Yin Yue Jiao Shi" segment on Wan Quan Yu Le when they appeared as guests and did some vocal trainings with Ren Fu, Shan Wei and Xiao Gang himself?

I know they are a semi-permanent fixture on that segment as well, but there was this episode where they sang so horribly out of tune that they thoroughly deserved the chalk powder served to them.

It only served to further reinforce my disdain at them. And yes, rikastar, their group name R&B is so absurd when all they really do are the poppish songs.

let me just make some points in relation to the parts I highlighted

1) I didn't mention at any point of time that I like F4 or zai zai... I still question how they rose to fame... they are not handsome by my levels... cannot act/sing/dance... zai zai cute?? come'on... gimme a break... enough said... just to point out that RnB 'haters' (like you call us), are not necessary F4 likers clear on this one? :? that applies to k one too...(I don't want to have others question my taste :oops:)

2) why should you annoy me by saying that? you see a forum is meant for discussion, and how can you have discussion when you have no voicing of opinion? and since there is a need to voice opinions in a discussion, then the rule of respecting other's opinion naturally applies... I respect your opinion on them... we have different tastes, we see differently...I am not going to get annoyed/angry... I disagree with my best friend on a whole lot of matters (so much so I enjoy arguing with her) and she's still my best friend, we simply enjoy exchanging viewpoints...

3) since when did you see a rule that says that if you support XXX, or voice an honest opinion you'd be banned? I've never seen anyone banned cos they raised a point? only the forum rule breakers get banned, if you think you are breaking rules here (or deserve a ban), then clearly you haven't read the forum rules yet... I firmly believe that all the moderators/admins are level headed enough not to ban members just cos they hold a different viewpoint (unless it is one that causes chaos around here, like the noob behavior...)

4) how is depending on 5566/wanyu's fan base different from depending on the church... let me put is simply... I shall use the name here:

wan yu/ 5566 didn't help them promote, will anyone pay attention to them at all?

okay, enough of my rebuttal... I just feel I need to clarify things since you are so mad with rnb those who teased RnB... you seem to be really annoyed... so I think I'd like to to see things in another perspective...

as for the working hard part... well, actually everyone in the entertainment circle works hard... it's hard to stand out in there so many talents in there... I do know that... but hard work does not necessary equate results... I want to see results of their hard work... since you watch wanyu, I shall quote a wanyu example. I respect shanwei as a host cos he really puts in a lot of effort, and he's doing a good job... without any looks I'd still say he's good at hosting :thumbsup:

RnB's somewhat different, I can't appreciate the results they are yielding... I have to be honest to my opinion that their appearance/singing/dancing etc etc didn't impress at all... but that's just my opinion... I am not going to force it on anyone :whistle:

btw, I am happy that you've support who you like by buying their album... I think that's a good practice...

yeah, i agree on you on this point. definitely... without much hesitation, if not for wan yu and 5566, they wouldn't have such a great start to their career... because maybe they won't be.. erm... as well-received? or something... btw, R&B's songs that are usually played on the radio are not exactly their nicest songs... in fact, songs like "lucky charm" and "hu-la-hu" are so crappy and they don't show their "talents" [well, that is, if they really really have some which i believe at least some of them have] so... the main point is, yeah, they wouldn't have started off so good without 5566 and wan yu as backing...

okay... i think i'd better not say anymore liao, maybe just give a review of R&B's album... not biased or anything, because i bought the album just to see how good they were... not exactly impressed, but not disgusted by it also...

on an average of 5 stars, the best i can give lucky 7 is 3 stars. that's the most... it's slightly above pass... here's why:
-singing skills are not bad [basically xiao-wei, huai en, meng ru are lead singers] because they rarely go out of tune [ in fact, only once or twice so far] even if they're singing live...
-but, the pitches don't vary... don't go from very low to very high, or vice versa.
-the songs are basically all very "yang guang" and happy except for a few.. can make improvements on these.
-and, lastly, i give them pass because they don't go off-key and i feel that they can do much better if they want to... so... just 3 stars, they are trying but not to the max yet...
