wooot! i'm really excited about the jay chou concert :D
anyways on facebook i joined Jay Chou Sydney Concert 2009 and it had some info on the SPECIAL VIP tickets~

so take a look:

well with jay's popularity, i'm not surprised at charging a high premium for some additional activities, but even $1500 is a bit over the top

just curious though... how do u actually get these tickets?

^^^^ you can only choose the activity if u ordered the tickets during the pre-release period, but since that has ended unfortunately u can't choose, it was for the first 200 people as well, so if u did order during the pre-release, u weren't guaranteed these activities

If you look at the seating layout you will see the stage is shape sort if like a T and there a like spaces on both sides. Platinum VIP Party Zone Area on the left or right hand side in the middle of the stage. so i guess this would be the platinum area. I checked out the concert website and the only way to purchase the tickets was to go to their head office which is in Sydney.

because you not buying a shirt as a shirt, you buying it as a thing you will remember the concert by.....hence the meaning of a merchandise.

i totally agree they are expensive, but not a rip off, because they are not valued as a pen/hat or wat so ever.

this is the merchandise that i saw at fudachi

shirts - a pink one with jaychou's cartoon face on it and there's a black one with a gold coloured symbol on it. they didn't look all that nice.

pens, necklace with two rings on it, jaychou figurines (each design represents a country that jay's been to - there are 8 of them)

oh phone charms and posters.

they didnt look at all that impressive so i didnt bother asking for prices.

i received my tickets yesterday, on the ticket though it does mention no photography and recording devices allowed, so i'm a bit sceptical now whether i should take the risk and film a bit of his concert ><

also for ppl who havent been to the merchandise store, the store is very, very small, not a whole lot of stuff there, if u r a diehard fan, the only thing that is remotely worth getting is the jay chou world tour figurines (8 of them, like from tokyo, US...), i think that sets u back about $200 ><

Where did you hear that from? I've been tempted to phone the acer arena and ask. It's totally rediculous if we can't even bring in an ordinary digital camera. And what will they do with the cameras if we do have one? Confiscate it?? And would we get it back later????

phones have 5 mega pixel this days so why risk it? besides if they do confiscate ur camera u cant do anything about it, since its printed on bold as well.

That only helps if you have a phone with a decent camera. Mine is only 2 mega pixels and I can't afford a new one at the moment. I don't want to risk losing my camera, I'm just really dissapointed cause I was sooooo looking forward to having some of my own photos of Jay and the concert. Maybe my dad will lend me his phone. :-)

there's gonna be 15,000 + fans at the concert and maybe only around 15+ security guards around the arena?
I'm sure we'll get away with some photos.
I was at the Japan concert last yr and they said no cameras too.. however i managed to take a lot of photos and filmed a few songs as well..
they'll prob give yu a warning first and tell yu not to take anymore..

"Only photography allowed for some events is a basic digital and this is with no video recording device and no zoom lens facilities."

also i'm surprised that out of the 150 $1500 tickets available, there are only 4 left... who the heck would pay that much?????????

Yea, basic digital cameras are allowed into the venue. As long as it's NOT too bulky and 'professional' looking like this bazooka, is what I'm guessing:

I doubt they will check the functions of every single camera, but if you are going to record something then make sure you do it discreetly so that you won't get caught.

and its something about Jay Chou's fans thankyou meeting and they're giving out limited souvenirs. its at 2pm on Saturday June 13th, at 十大书坊 on Lt Bourke Street.

I don't think you are allowed to that anymore...touching the singers at concerts I mean. I read it somewhere but don't remember where but apparently its like banned or something now because the fans normally go crazy and try to pull them down or they scratch them.
like the Andy Lau concert...they scratched his hand and it was all bleeding and stuff 0-0 but that was ages ago

anyhows I dunno if we could do that but it'd be cool :-)

and me and my sister won those Jay concert mobile phone key chains~~ which was pretty cool
and like other stuff :D:D

haha, I'm not a memorable person so I doubt you'd remember me. I was sitting behind my sister and her friend, (who were sitting right behind you) and right beside the girl in pink/red (who also won prizes too).
You guys weren't selfish, but probably just better fans than the rest who were present :-) So, kudos to you and your sis! I'm ashamed 'cos I couldn't recall the titles to the songs. I was also very camera conscious, haha..

wells my sis called up FuDaChi and went thru a whole process abt our tickets as we waited for ages what with free upgrading and everything. Everything worked out after some arguing :whistle: and we got free upgrading as FuDaChi was doing their own special promotion. We ended up speaking to the manager abt it and they couldn't do $488 tickets for us but we did get upgraded to $248 (which is pretty reasonable I guess cause we only bought $168 ones and there are 8 of us xD). We can pick up tickets tomorrow I think but the promo only lasted for one day on Wednesday and they said we were a special case because of all the problems we went thru...so it might have been an exception :shifty: LOL
and they were pretty nice...

anyhows the manager at FuDaChi THINKS that Jay Chou autograph session is on 2nd July and/or 4th July. So hopefully we will see him soon :)

My husband worked at the Acer Arena awhile ago and his advice is that the 2nd mosh pit area is more than the length of a whole basketball court away from the stage - it's quite a distance. You will also be looking up at the stage from ground level so even the lowest seats will be higher than you. So it all depends on whether you want to stand for the whole thing and risk having heads in your way, or sit possibly a little further away but have a clear view and a seat. Also if you are down the sides but up higher, you'll possibly be closer than the rear mosh pit and you still get a good view (as long as you aren't right next to the stage or behind it). Hope that helps. :-)

I upgraded mine to $248 because the manager said when he went to check on the numbers of people buying tickets and not that many bought $488 and so we were only about 20m away from the stage and that there were not that many ppl in front of us so it would be better going with the rear mosh pit as $168 tickets are way further back with several rows of seats for $268 ticket ppl already.

Don't know about the conveyer belt thing but I rung the acer arena yesterday and asked about bringing a camera and they said that even though the ticket says 'no photography devices' or something like that, you can bring in a standard small digital camera as long as it doesn't have a major zoom lens. Basically the ones you get now days that are flat rectangles are fine, similar in size to a mobile phone. It didn't seem to matter if they had high megapixels or a normal zoom on them but basically, don't bring a camera that is professional looking (even if it isn't) and has a zoom lens that sticks out the front.

Just in case you're not sure, something like this below is ok according to the lady I called at the acer arena. It has about 12 megapixels and 3x optical zoom but that is ok cause it doesn't have a big zoom lens.

Apparently i heard this was the clubbing after party, made for the fans that didnt buy the expensive tickets to the dinner after party at Zilver restaurant,
the dinner should finish around 12:00-12:30 and then Jay should make an appearance if not sing at his own party.
Space is like across the road from the restaurant, should be very convenient.

im thinking if this is not an official party they wouldnt even be allowed to hold it.
but i havent heard anything about the clubbing party, really hope they go forward with it, and hope Jay comes too!!

Not too sure if I can help much but I think you have got a good spot from what I can figure out. The thing is, the seating on the floor can be different for every event because of different stage layouts and basically, the artist can set it up however they like whereas the elevated seating always stays the same.

Looking at the seating plan, it doesn't list any 'floor zone A' section but from reading info on http://my.waiwai.com.au/space-23112-do-blog-id-470.html, it says your ticket is on the left or right hand side of the middle of the stage. I was about to say I think that may be right at the front of the front VIP party zone area but I just had another thought after looking at the map.

From past Jay concerts I have seen DVD's of, they seem to have people all around the stage including if there are any walkways or extra stage sections which leave big gaps of space. This concert has space between the main stage section and the smaller front stage section and there is a left and right hand part so I'm wondering if you are going to be right up in between the 2 stage parts and on one of the sides of that walkway that joins them.

If that's right, you will be so ridiculously close but may see the back of Jay when he walks out to the front stage. But hey, I still think that would be a pretty awesome seat and you get to meet Jay afterward so it's all worth it. :-) Hope that helps you.

also they told me that if i bought a set of posters from them i will have the right to attend Jay's autograph session, which doesn't seem to be the case, i reckon after that and we have clear evidence that i was unable to attend the autograph session (since only VIP ticket holders can go) we'll all issue complaints, the more people the better

I am not going to let this happen. This is truly false advertisement! The lady from JMS confirmed that I could get all those before and now I get crap??

I think that even if you can't get your money refunded, it is totally worth going to the ACCC to prevent Fudachi from ripping off more people in the future. And even if they don't care, this has no effect on the ACCC taking action against them. I haven't been affected by this problem cause I bought tickets of ticketek but I say go for it guys! You can at least try and see where it leads.

Yes I totally want to report this!!..This is unbelievable!! The way we were treated and how UNFAIR IT IS!!...this has completely ruined the concert atmosphere!..FuDaChi sold my tickets to other people and in the end 'supposedly' upgraded me to $248 BUT the point is the only reason they upgraded me and my friends is because NO ONE wants the $248 tickets as they are standing and you prolly can't see ANYTHING. I feel my rights as a consumer has been completely violated. HOW PATHETIC!!!!..What is the point of buying presale tickets??? And when i complained they talked to me as if they were the victims of this whole mess!!..wtf?????THE different offers and advertisements is DEFINITELY NOT FAIRTRADING!!!

I also think it is JMS fault. The ticket prices are hugely UNREASONABLE and holding back FuDaChi tickets and saying pre-sale will get you better seats blah blah and being so unorganised. You're actually allowed to take cameras, just not ones with a large zoom or that are professional looking. I rung Acer arena to check. Your normal digital camera is fine.

go to the acer arena floor plan for the jay concert and it would say on the bottom right hand corner what the rows mean

on another note, i bought my tickets from JMS directly and had no problems, i didnt even specify my block and i got front row seats and a great section (though i did buy early). i dont see why many people would buy from third parties such as Fudachi when they could of easily bought from JMS directly, some people say that they thought JMS was dodgy but doesnt buying from some random asian computer store with no ties to jay chou seem even dodgier?

It's strange no flowers were given to Jay tho'

The proposal thing is a bit cheesy, but it's OK.

Nan quan ma ma was poor in performance, especially their quality of voice. Lara was OK, and she was the only one speaking english among all.

Yup he didnt say a word (apart from 'thank you') He didnt even say 'Australia' nor 'Sydney'... hmmm... we should thank Lara for her excellente englishhh!!

I went out to get some air when he sang with nan quan ma ma.... The 'Wu Ding' duet was.... below par. Why didnt she sang 'Shan Hu Hai' with Jay instead?? So disappointed :(

Jay looks definitely chubby… he had a double chin!

Did you guys notice that sometimes the lyrics would be on the big screen and sometimes not… it was kind of inconsistent.

I kind of felt sorry for the ppl in the party zones….’cos by the end of it many ppl that were at the front ended up going to the back as a result of them not being able to see over ppl’s heads… but someone in the $248 zone got Jay’s nun-chuks!

I totally loved it. I wasn't that impressed with the sound quality but I figure you don't go to a concert for excellent, clear sound, you go for the experience of seeing a singer you love singing the songs you love live, right in front of you. It was so awesome to see Jay live and I'm so glad he played so many instruments. I'm so glad I got photos cause it kind of feels a bit all like a dream. lol We had a security guard near us trying to make everyone stop taking photos. It was a bit crazy - every other guard just didn't care. We also got stuck buying glow sticks outside and then not being allowed to take them in.

My husband and I felt like we stuck out a bit cause we don't look asian at all and we only saw 4-5 other people who were also caucasian. lol I felt like I was getting so many funny looks from other concert goers, kind of like, what are you doing here? :-) It was so much fun.

Yes, PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAASE, can someone tell us non-chinese speaking people what he said? I so wish I knew what he was saying during the concert but it was still totally awesome anyway. And I was surprised at how much I picked up even though I hardly know any mandarin.

Ok from what i remember he said: That this was the first time he had a concert in sydney (cheers from crowd), the reason why he didn't come before was because, since he loves "mian zi", as in not losing face, he didn't hold a concert due to fear of no one knowing him (cheers of disagreeing from crowd). Later on during the guitar section he said that this concert is almost over (awww from crowd), and that he was changing the format of the concert to incorporate magic next time. And says that he will be back one day!

Thank you!! I hope he does come back soon. :-) He didn't do many songs from Capricorn so maybe in his next tour he'll do magic for Mr Magic or something. :-)

Ohh another thing I remember him saying during his first speech, was that he was afraid the seats in his concert would not be filled up, which was followed by some laughter and cheering hehe.

Well, I reckon the Concert was AWESOME! I was in $248 and everything was so clear! Lucky person got nunchucks...I didn't even notice him throwing it. LOL
My first concert and I loved it!! Can't wait for him to come back. hope its soon!
I went to Regent Place today to get some free gift from the booklet that got given out at the concert area and merchandise shop but you can't buy stuff no more >< but they were giving out the merchandise for FREE plus $488, $688 and $1500 ticket people got their stuff. I went FuDaChi to ask about my posters - I still wanted them and they told me to go back to that merchandise shop to get it. and It was already really late by then ==
I'm going back tomorrow. Hope they don't pack up or anything. I want my posters!!! There was a guy at the merchandise shop who worked there and was really nice and he looked like Chen Bo Lin!! :D
P.S. anyone know where I can get the pink Jay Chou shirt with his cartoon version on it. They wouldn't sell it to me. T-T

This concert was spectacular, I was quite amazed at the crowd, the turnout was huge compared to his Toronto stop. A Caucasian lady sitting next to me singing along, I was WOW! I wanted another round of Fa Rue Xue (Snow like Hair).

My night was slightly dulled since my camera died out half way through :-x we definitely need a thread to share/embrace the moment just like the rest of you, I too feel I'm forgetting :oops:

By the way did anyone in the Gold/Silver/Bronze seats received concert promo bags? Or was that a VIP+ thing?

havent had interent past few days...almost died >.<
but the concert was amazing~~ i had the best time ever !!!
coz i got the $688 tickets and got to stand right next to stage and i was in the front row too so i had the best view ! hahaa
but didnt get to touch his hand T___T" *lucky ppl who got to :(*
but did you guys see that light board that said JAY in blue....WELL that was me !!! hahaha ;D
yeah~ got quitee a lot vids and photos~ cept all the vids have singing and screaming in them!
i liked how he sung some old songs~~ since it is his first aus concert and all the instruments were really awesomee!!
can't wait till Jay comes again in the next few years!!

and before the concert i got to go to the press conference !
except jay didnt stay for long...and only answered a few questions and stuff
but got some vids and photos :)
and also after the concert i got access to the After Party~ which had 4 tables for fans but we weren't allowed to stand up and approach Jay and he was surrounded by body guards as well but they continued the thing with Jay's dancer proposing to the girlfriend~~and he like re-proposed and she said I DO and then they kissed for 30 seconds hahaha and the ppl were like we want to see tongue and stuff ! so funny haha
and today the autograph session was cancelled coz they were like Jay's too tired but yh heard he went shopping with his mum :) naww thats still pretty sweet
but the JMS ppl gave us pressies to make up for it :)
but yeah the whole concert and all the events were so much fun and very worth it!

ohh your from melb as well cool. i stayed at the rydges world square i was hoping my gps would get me there when i ifrst arrived in syd but it never worked so i sorta got lost aroudn the city but found it at the end it was actually pretty close to zilver and jms at regent place so that was good. ohh yeh the cruise would have been great, on the first day they were like 688 and 1500 then they changed it. you never know because the autograph session was cancelled maybe you get the cruise lol.

LOL his concert was epic ~ haha too bad i was sitting in $268 section but truthfully it was closer than i thought it would be. but altogether the concert was justt unforgettable & incomparable :D LOL i recorded the entire concert but my camera ran out of memory so i didn't get about 2 songs but i took some pictures and then after that i video recorded with my phone but it was like badd quality ~ LOL even after the concert it felt like i havent seen him before cos it felt like half the time i was looking at the screen (even tho i was looking at his small figure ♥ on the stage like most of the time) which feels like your watching him over net but i guess to face the facts muahahah we saw him ~ ^_______O haha its horrible to watch back the videos cos 1. not because of jay cos he was just ♥ ♥ ♥ but 2. i can like here myself screaming like a manwhore and singing like ewww :crazy:

Wow, good to hear i wasn't the only one from melbourne to attend jay's concert! I stayed at Ibis, right next to Acer arena. Didn't expect it to be so windy up at Homebush!

I was watching through my video recordings and noticed that after huo yuan jia, jay threw his fan into the crowd! Wonder who caught it.

This is the 2nd jay concert i've attended - the other being in shanghai (incomparable concert). Honestly, i much prefer the cosy atmosphere in sydney. But, thought the sound system was too loud - to the point of distortion! And yes, i was definitely sitting in an optimal position - facing directly opposite the stage in the $268 area.

Happy and pleasantly surprised to see such a packed stadium. Will hopefully convince Jay to perhaps hold another concert down in Melbourne next time.

然後杰倫就來變魔術、
我和他只隔一個人（更幸運）
很近很近、隔著墨鏡我都能看到杰倫的小眼睛。
