Anti-Britney Spears

I hadn't really noticed until recently, but we don't have an "anti" thread for Britney. Let me describe why I despise her:

- She's one of those "role models" that Disney supported because she was a Mouseketeer.

- She didn't have that great of a voice, not enough for that to deserve the hype. She got by as a singer by wearing very little clothing, dancing in said skimpy clothing, and having big bosoms. She had little to no clothing in her music videos. Girls wanted to be like her, so they also wore very little clothing. She basically used sex to sell.

- She was extremely famous. Her songs were always played on the radio non-stop when I was a teenager. People loved her and she sold a very large number of albums without really deserving it. There was too much hype. She was EVERYWHERE!!!

- She never took marriage seriously. She couldn't have relationships. She always acted like she was brain dead when it came to getting married, getting divorced, and arguing over custody of her children. She also kissed Madonna, which was just sick!

- She's crazy (no pun intended) and people still love her! I don't get it.

I hope I'm not the only one out there who hates her and everything she stands for. She's disgusting and a complete airhead! She tried to make a comeback and she could hardly stand let alone actually dance! There was a girl in my school who had the same name. I feel kind of sorry for that girl because that name brings up a lot of awful thoughts.

ANYWAYS, she really can't sing anymore, it seems like she always lipsync during live performances now.

Kind of both, actually, though I don't think it's sick when girls kiss each other on the cheek. That's not weird at all. That's just being friendly. On the lips, though, is really weird, and in front of a lot of people? Gross! Kissing someone on the lips is not a friendly kiss, it's a romantic thing. It's not like she was even someone who said she was a lesbian and she did marry guys. It's like she's not even sure whether to be homosexual or straight and it's like she thinks that kissing a woman like that when still dating guys is normal.

I never really liked Britney Spears either. I ony liked singing along with her old songs because they were so catchy and cause since they were on the radio so much, as a kid, they just kinda got stuck in my head. If you're looking for quality in her voice, it's not really there. I tried actually to listen to see if she had a good voice, but it seemed like her voice was really snotty and stuck up. Also, I agree that she used sex to sell. I think that was one reason why Christina Aguilera wasn't as popular as Britney at the time. I honestly have to say that although I'm not a Jessica Simpson fan, Jessica's acutally got a really good voice especially when compared to Britney Spears. I feel really sad for anyone who's got the name Britney Spears especially now that she's done so many crazy things. Her music is ...not very good nowadays. They aren't even ...catchy or whatnot. They're just kinda...trashy? ...Not a fan of Britney either. Just her old music who was written by others.

i am definitely not a fan. i was until her second cd came out though, but that was ages ago. she seems like a total whore anymore. and the stupid things she does just to get some attention.... bugs me lots.

I think her songs are good and she was better in the past but now.. i don't really like her anymore..the head-shaving thing and everything, that's just weird.. and her music videos are like rated "R" now? I just saw some of her MVs and it's pretty gross..

I never watched her MVs, though I saw a few when I was younger because my cousins watched MTV even though they weren't supposed to. (American MTV is not really a good channel for kids to watch...) "Lucky" was pretty safe, as I recall, and the lyrics are the only meaningful lyrics I can remember Britney ever singing. It's kind of odd, though, that she sang a song about a celeb being depressed and now she's way beyond being a depressed celeb.

I read the descriptions for some of her other MVs, though, and they sound really gross, not something I'd watch at all. They sound a bit porny. :glug: Her costumes have also always been very lacking in material, so I don't really expect any improvement in that area.

yeah, her music videos are like porny now! It's definitely inappropriate for kids.
and i saw one of her mvs about her drowning because of depression.. that's kinda stupid. I wonder what happened to her kids? did her husband take custody of them?

I think her ex-husband got custody, but she can still visit them. After the fit she threw, I'm glad. She can't take care of herself, let alone raise children. :dry:
