Welcome!

Jay knows a little bit of English here and there, but he was never very good at speaking it, and he says that he won't do an English album. He says he'll stick with Chinese. He obviously took English classes in school, but he wasn't very good at academics. He also spoke quite a bit of Japanese in his Tokyo concerts this year and even sang a couple of Japanese songs.

omg really? i didn't know all that. I have heard him say a couple things in English, but yea it wasn't great. poor guy. English is a very hard language to learn to me. It's just so different from any other language.

I had no idea he knew Japanese, but I he did film in Japan so he might have picked up some stuff here and there or had some lessons before the filming.

its a pity that he cant speak english but there is a big advantage of it, he will never sing in english...for some reason i dont like english songs sang by asians....i switched to asian languages and i prefer to listen to my fav artists singing in their mother tongues

Yeah, I get what you're saying here.

I personally don't like Chinese rap songs, (some of Jay Chou's rap-blend songs like Rice Aroma and Listen to Mother are okay) but not when they fall clearly into the Rap/Hip Hop genre. I think Chinese just sounds better sung than rapped.

I can speak, read and write BOTH CHINESE AND ENGLISH! Lol sorry for showing off.

I think Jay should understand a little English, but sing in English? No please. =P
