So the Harry Potter and Half-Blood Prince trailer has just been released and the movie is scheduled to be released on November 21, 2008.

Summary of plot: Harry Potter explores Voldemort's past and prepares to take on the epic battles that lay ahead.

I'm excited to see this movie, aren't you? I read that the kid who plays young Voldemort is actually Ralph Fiennes' nephew. For those who don't know, Ralph Fiennes plays Voldemort. The trailer looks even darker than for the fifth movie, hopefully they won't leave out too many essential things from the book. The director is David Yates again and he did a great job with the Order of the Phoenix so I think this one will be the same if not better.

Oh. My. Gosh.

(Btw, you're so lucky to have started the thread. LOL.)
Anyways, I soooo can't wait to watch it. Like. Seriously. The trailer does look really dark and seems so intense. I'm sure that it can't even start to compare to the book because it's bound to leave alot of details out since there's just way too much info to be consumed. Gahh. I cannot wait. Just a couple more months!

Hmm. I was kind of surprise to see this thread opened so early. Normally, a thread about a movie is open after the movie is shown.

I will be anticipating this movie. Voldemort vs Harry Porter!! But its just part 1 of the movie right? I heard Half Blood have 2 parts.

kaikaii No, I think HBP is a one-part movie. The last book (Deathly Hallows), is gonna be in two parts, so there's 3 more Harry Potter films to look forward to!

Saw the trailer in HQ and whoaaaa it rocks!

So... I'm kind of  that they pushed the movie back eight months just so it could premiere as a Summer blockbuster. -__-" totally ridiculous. (Twilight fans can rejoice, though, because thanks to Harry being postponed, they get to watch their Twilight movie earlier.)

July 17, 2009... is an awful long time away. =.=

I was really excited for it coming out in November -.-

yep. it's confirmed. the reason? coz there's this writers organisation stated their petition to drag the fil forwards next year due to copyright problems thingy (when the Deathly Hallows first come out there were problems right? so... their not satisfied with some things)

that's what I heard~

I heard it was pushed to next summer because WB wanted to make it a summer blockbuster so it could make more money. But I don't know, that could be just some angry blogger making that up..lol

Now that it is released and many of us hardcore Harry Potter fans would have caught it....

Your views on the show? Disappointed? Awesome?

One of my friends said that it was one of the better installments after HP1 and 2.

What do you think?

lol yes, watched on the opening day. <3

personally i feel that nobody should compare the movies to the books because they ARE different things. there is just no point complaining (for so many years) that the movies don't do the books justice, because movies are NOT books! it's a VERY different medium, thus if anyone even wants to compare anything, it can only be with the previous movies.

1 and 2 aside, yes, i think this is actually not bad. (my fave ever is still PoA though.) OotP was a very good condensation, and HBP was... well, i must say they really were trying to approach this with a different angle. -.- the first half might be a tad slow-moving, whereas the second half moved tooooo fast. -.- the most crucial scenes the horcrux cave/inferi part was ABIT disappointing though, because i don't think dumbledore looked too pained by that thing -.- were over in a flash and then... it just ends. o.o

perhaps, compared to the other movies, this one kind of acted more as a transition for the next movie then as a movie by itself. :S

but i still think it was not bad. ^^ and the tom riddle in the orphanage was awesome. awesome! by the way, he's Ralph Fiennes's real nephew. :D (Ralph Fiennes is Voldemort.) the teenage tom riddle wasn't half as good as the kid, imo. LOL.

and in case anyone wants to know (because for some strange reason there're a lot of people asking me about it), Deathly Hallows will be split into two parts. HOWEVER, they're just filming it as one big movie for now, so nobody knows yet where exactly it'll be split, although the director/producers have a rough idea already. but that might change as they continue filming. (and yes, they're already filming it.)

aah
i watched it twice!
for the fun of it. haha personally i think the director focused too much on the social stuff going on between the characters...i mean, the movie barely focused on the horcrux scene, voldemort's memories in general. i mean, what happened to the GAUNTS?! and scrimgeour! but then again they might be implemented into the last two movies...who knows..

im kinda annoyed that they've never shown bill weasley <3 he sounds so hot.
i must admit though, the movie was really funny

and is it just me or is the girl who plays ginny weasley annoying as heck?!

EDIT:
cormac mclaggen is NOT SUPPOSED TO BE SO DAMN HOT!

^ so far i've watched it twice too! xD

AND NO IT'S NOT JUST YOU. i really don't like her. (never mind that ginny is taller than harry too. -.- wth.) thing is, bonnie wright looks quite good off-screen and i don't know why in the movies she's ridiculous. (and annoying, of course.)

^ YES OMG TOM RIDDLE WAS LIKE (Y)
I totally loved his portrayal!

Tonks & Lupin were awesome as usual. I personally felt that the fighting scene at the Weasleys' house when Harry chased Bellatrix was very well done

But Dumbledore looked ridiculous. I still can't get over the fact that he's like so rough and impatient O.O

Ron was awesome though. Thank goodness for his character if not we couldn't get our laughs when watching it. &&& HERMIONE WAS LIKE LOVE! (L)(L)(L)

But OMG I LOVED DRACO IN THE LAVATORY[/spoiler} HE WAS LIKE SO HAWT WITH HIS HAIR RUFFLED UP ^^

&&& [spoiler]He even looks so good with all the blood while lying on the floor hehehes

I thought the inferi were awesome though hahaahahhas they really scared me like crazy :sealed:

But overall, yes I do think it was a good one. I mean all the effects were like more than fullmarks, but I'm not sure if everything links up nicely if I didn't read the book. it's hard to think from the non-readers' pov.

& yes, fans should just stop complaining about the missing details because it's just impossible to fit such a thick book into a three-hour movie, what more two hours.

So, in the end, YES I WILL WATCH IT AGAIN WHEN I FIND TIME.
If not, I guess I'll just have to settle for the dvds :wink2:

I was impresed with this one ^^
the harry ginny kiss was a bit awkward
but i felt like they covered everything and didnt relly change the book a lot like they've done before
totally worth seeing i think

I thought the movie was hilarious! Like when Harry and Ron were fighting over the potions book and the whole scene when Ron was under the influence of the love potion + when McGlaggen threw up on Snape and got detention lololol.
