I saw a equivalent for TVB dramas and so i decided to set up a General Discussion thread for japanese dramas too! :) i understand that many of us here watch different kinds of japanese dramas but because they are not quite popular, we don't really want to set up a new thread for it. and so this explains the existence of this thread!
of course, for many other popular dramas, new japanese drama threads can be created, like how Last Friends, Hana Kimi, Hana Yori Dango, Zettai Kareshi and many others have their own. so for all the dramas with their own threads, let's continue to post them in their respective threads instead :)
so everyone come on in and post! any japanese drama will do, so don't be shy :P and when we realise a drama is actually quite deserving of its own personal thread, we shall create one for it! (:

and i really love jdramas cos they're short and sweet! and more often than not, they have unique plots, interesting casts, great cinematography. and being short is important because it also means that they're less draggy than most kdramas :P and somehow even in the most retarded dramas, there are always something to learn from it. (:
so here are some jdramas i would recommend for a start!
anego, attention please, nobuta wo produce, nodame cantabile, proposal daisakusen, kurosagi, yuukan club, zettai kareshi, last friends, galileo, iryu team medical dragon, PRIDE, engine, CHANGE, hanazakari no kimitachi e, hana yori dango
and here are some sites you can watch them from:

okay, i shall start the ball rolling!
i'm watching CHANGE right now, with Takuya Kimura as the lead actor and he is absolutely adorable! ((: i love the way he acts as a clumsy yet charismatic political leader in the show! and the latest episode (episode 5) was SO FUNNY! but yet everything he said was so true and really touches the audiences' hearts. i can understand why the American leader actually left telling his subordinates what a wonderful boss they had :)
Takuya kimura is LOVE. :D

Well from your list I'm only watching Zettai Kareshi and I started watching Gokusen (the first one). I like dramas with happy endings hehe so I hope they end up well.

oh thanks for this thread! this holidays am on a J-dorama-roll! I'm super slow, but just finished Hana Kimi, Nobuta wo Produce, Gokusen I, and Hachimitsu to Clover. Very drawn towards J-dorama, donno y... think cos they are quite beautifully filmed, like Hachimitsu, and almost always have deeper meanings behind. BTW has Gokusen III finished airing?

=BTW has Gokusen III finished airing?
It's still airing but honestly i'm not very keen of watching because of the casts but i've watched the first two season so of course i would want to watch the third one to see how it fair as compared to the first two.
I'm currently watching Last Friends and Puzzle. Last Friends is a super duper good drama and i would say the first japanese drama which i watched with storyline never been used in Japan drama. Really good and a must watch drama!!
As for Puzzle, i only watch it because of one of the male actor who starred in Hanazakari no Kimitachi e. the storyline is normal but i simply love how they solved the different mysteries like puzzle solving. it's worth a shot!

Really? who's there? and is Puzzle a police/detective type series like Akihabara @ Deep?

Cielfairy..i think in Puzzle...there's the guy who played the "Ghost Boy" in Hanazakari no Kimitachi e...and the guy who played Sekime...but i'm not sure...
I don't know much about Japanese dramas too, but the ones that i can remember watching is 1 Litre of Tears, Hanazakari no Kimitachi e, and Zettai Kareshi ...also some OLD AS ones...like GTO and others..but i can't remember what they were about...rofl..

Karen Really? I thought "ghost boy" was really cute, I'll look for it. I never finished watching Nobuta Wo Produce bit it was pretty good also. I feel that old japanes dramas weren't as intense as the ones that they have been making lately. They used to be sillier but now they seem more serious, however you can see that the romantic parts are still shyer than other series. Kisses are shorter, blurred, and with the mouth closed. I guess it's something cultural. However I've heard that korean are very strict in that sense but I find their love scenes are hotter.

wow, i didn't expect that much response! haha but i shall try replying to some of you guys first (:
friends_pt, puzzle is one of the dramas i wanna watch from this season! but i haven't started on it! :X but you make it sound quite interesting so maybe once i'm free i shall start on it! :D
Jie_Lun_Rox (sorry i suddenly forgot your name :shy:) - haha yeaps apparently they're remaking koizora from a movie to a drama! haven't watched the movie yet but i heard its good, so i guess the drama should be worth a catch too :D
and karen! yeah you're right! (: i had to refresh my memory by looking at this picture!

and maki (haha i read your siggy :P), i guess you're correct in that sense too. but i didn't really notice the trend 0.o but last friends was a really new kind of drama in the jdrama scene! shocked me too. haha i sorta miss the funny light hearted dramas of the past :X

n_n!!!! Ah lookie! There's "ghost boy"! Yeah but you know hanazakari was really funny and lighthearted but It was way too gay sometimes and there wasn't much chemistry between the two main characters (that's just what I feel), I'm not saying it wasn't good, not at all, it was very enjoyable but it was way too anime. I know it's based on a manga and all but well I'll say it, Taiwanese version was better, way better. At least hanazakari guys have matured nicely and gone into better dramas.

In fact I haven't watch the Spring season dramas..I always buy the DVDs and watch it on TV cos I have too many distractions using the comp. =p

Yeah Koizora is a very successful movie, made lots of people cry lol. I'm really interested in how it's gonna be like as a drama~!
I hope the cast is the same, cause the guy (Haruma Miura) is hot hahaha

(I'm here to vent my frustration/anger/sadness etc...)
I duno if you guys heard, but it's going to get harder to watch Japanese dramas from now on...since four major ISP organizations in Japan (made up of 1000+ ISPs) have all come to an agreement that they aren’t going to stand for any piracy in their country. They are banning all illegal file sharing by committing to shut down anyone caught using file sharing to infringe on copyrights.
I'm really depressed...since it means good japanese dramas would be harder to be available for download to subbers, meaning..we either all learn Japanese really fast...or..well..have to WAIT and WAIT and WAIT until DVDs are out...:sadangel:
(PS:..does anyone have good Japanese Drama Direct Download sites??..where subtitle groups can easily get the dramas??)

06-13-2008, 01:32 PM
I actually thought Koizora had a really weak plot. Even though I cried but yeah the story was really guessable & it was just eyecandy actually :sealed:
The stupid piracy thing. There are like 998887612846 million versions of those "official" vcdsdvds, all of which have pathetic english sucks. Like how many of the official releases are available in stores?
In my opinion they're just making out lives miserable ): Like so near yet so far
Ahh enough of the rants. I think the great thing about jdoramas is that it really venture into all the varieties. The plots are mostly srtong, & it's addictive. Plus they make me laugh, cry, excited, nervous all at the right times. &&& THE BEST STUFF ARE THE EYECANDIES

06-13-2008, 04:44 PM
hmmm i think the cast for Koizora (drama) will be different from that of the movie! :( i haven't watched the movie yet, but i heard how miura did a good job over there :) they only stated the female lead, so i have no idea who the male lead is going to be :X anyway its stated to air in july!
anyway; check out the Dramawiki (http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Koizora) and Official (http://www.tbs.co.jp/koi-zora/) webpages!
oh my gosh, i really hope the ISP thing won't affect the stream of jap dramas coming into foreign countries :X sigh i can't imagine waiting for a drama till its DVD is released! i think i'll die of pain :X
and i love jdramas because its short and sweet! and yes wenmei, EYECANDIES :D

I just finished [Honey & Clover] not too long ago. And simply loved Toma Ikuta!!! I think at some angles, he reminds me of Daniel Wu, a younger version, hehehhe.
I am probably moving to watch [Last Friends] next. I think Ryou Nishikido looks so much hotter in this one.

omo Huiwen, you start the thread. It makes me feel like I will talk about japanese drama everywhere in jcnet lol what are you planning to watch for the summer drama, I definitely watch Code blue and Maou ^^
well, I think we are in the same level of watching jdrama :D For the spring drama, I am now watching:
Last Friend <-- like some of you mentioned it is really good drama, I haven't see this plot before and I got hook after the first minute I watched lol we will talk about this drama in it owns thread.
Around 40 <-- no more to say, I'm falling in love with Fujiki Naohito, he is so charming in his ages  and this drama makes me think ahead if I were 40 years old and I am not already getting married, what I will look like ><"
Zettai Kareshi <-- Hiro and that's enough reason to watch haha also go to talk in it owns thread
Puzzle <-- this drama is about the english teacher in one of the famous boy school who would do anything for money and that's why she always jump in the mystery case and solve for getting the treasure. I'm really enjoyed learning her teaching style
Gokusen 3 <-- the classic storyline, I'm watching this because I have a little hope that Shun will be a guest in one of the episode. And I love Yankumi character, she is hilarious.
Osen <-- This drama talks about the old japanese style restaurant with Aoi Yuu as the young owner (okami) who love drinking, I adore her acting. The storyline is not really interesting, it's based on the daily life of a guy who wanna be a cooker and is finding the soul of cooking.
Change <-- Kimu Taku is alway loved! I love all his character he has been acting till now, but for the Change, I don't think I see the power in his eyes or I don't see the aura around him XD kinda disappointed at first, may be becasue his momo hair haha
Karen, if you are megaupload friendly, then I can suggest you to have a livejournal account ^^
I think Ryou Nishikido looks so much hotter in this one.Yup Cacky, Ryou looks hotter but scary ^^;

XP but its good isn't it LOL. and i'll definitely catch code blue and maou too! i so love ikuta toma and yamapi-kun! :D but you're definitely watching more jdramas than me this season LOL. i'm only watching ZK, CHANGE, Last Friends... wants to catch GK3 and PUZZLE! haha. I LOVE KIMUTAKU still :D
and and. karen and pammie! intro me some good livejournal sites! i only know very few :X but mostly jpop not jdramas :X i'm megaupload friendly though the limit exceeds sorta easily LOL.

^oh, when the limit for MegaUpload is up...just restart your modem...and then you can re-connect on a new IP address, and can download again~~ (but that only works, if your connection gives you a new IP address everytime you restart your modem)
In New Zealand, we have a limited internet cap, last night was my last day of the cap, so i downloaded away...(but i went 2Gb over into today....so it's the first day of my monthly quota of 10Gb...and i've already used 2Gb....)..nevermind..it's worth it...
Kamen Rider Kabuto is so drool worthy with all the eye-candy...(well..mainly Hiro and "Ghost Boy"....)
i've found that Livejournal communities are really good for screencaps too...(which are very good for drool-worthy pics..)
PS:Zettai Kareshi is awesome  (i know i should keep spazzing about it in the actual thread..bu no one posts there..:sadangel:...i've double posted myself 2 times now...)..it's so awesome..i dont want it to end!!!!!

pamujung: Yeah, I know, I went to 'steal' a few glimpse of [Last Friends] and Ryou does seem scary and evil. But I won't start on it until I got all episodes of it. It's just too torturing to watch and then wait.
I prefer to finish all at one shot. I agree with you on Naohito looking so hot. I've always loved his dramas.
Think other than [Maou], the other summer drama that I'll most probably watch is [Tomorrow], coz it has Takenouchi Yutaka!!!!! Haven't seen him in a while already since the last father and son drama, [Kazoku]. He has to be the hottest Japanese actor in history!!!

eh :? Naohito (http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Fujiki_Naohito) didn't get a role in Galileo!! I think you mistake him with Fukuyama Masaharu (http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Fukuyama_Masaharu) lol but I don't think you don't know him, he acts as the doc in 1 litre of tears, he acts as Rei's sensei in Proposal daisakusen, and a lot of dramas. well, I have linked to their wiki pages ^^
and in LJ there is also the search function, just search the interest to find the community. But I am not in jdorama >< I am in jdramas. I will check that out.

yenny1106: Yeah, you SHOULD go watch [Kazoku] where he acts as a single parent to this really CUTE little boy. There were some parts of it that was pretty touching. I really loved it coz you know, Takenouchi's always taken on rather manly roles. And in this role, there's the softer side of him as the father. I shall not elaborate further to prevent spoilers. But do go watch it if you have the chance.
pamujung: Yeah, I am also waiting for more information on [Tomorrow]. Do share with us over here if you do get more information on it.

(^-^) so this thread is for random discussion on japanese dramas? i'm in!! :-) ~ OMG i just love jdrama!! :excited: ~ i wish i could make a list of jdrama i've watched but i'm afraid half of the list are the 'old' ones i'm not sure if anyone of you here heard of them hehe ~ oh yes i'm one of the older generation where the only sources of jdrama are tv and VCD hahaha  . TBH i start to watch japanese drama when i was a toddler (anybody heard of the drama called [Oshin]?) (almost all foreign dramas on my local TV then were dubbed, not subbed~that was..err..almost 20 yrs ago ~ uh uh i'm that old! hehe )

i couldn't agree more!! once i had a massive row with a friend during the uni days who like kdrama better (no offense! hehe)~ anyway i must say it was stupid to argue over things like that, i mean even if i can't convince others, nothing could convince me otherwise hehe

I remember Oshin, I used to watch it dubbed on a local tv channel. It was sooo good! I enjoy all asian dramas, I don't mind if they're Japanes, Korean or Chinese, I just love them. But since we're discussing Japanese Dramas I'll stick to the thread. I WAS watching Zettai Kareshi but I haven't been able to watch chapter 8 with english subs. I'll try to look for the torrent or get a megaupload account and register to livejournal. Argh! So much to do, it used to be just a click away. But it's worth it, anything is worth doing to get my daily IV of dramas.
Ahhhh! Jun Matsumoto! He's awesome. I was watching Bambino! He looks more mature, and it seems he filled up for that role, he doesn't look so skinny. I'd say he looks healthier and cuter. Although some close shots showed that he has lots of holes on his face. But I don't care, I still find him very attractive and talented. Anyone watched this drama?

haha OOPS PAM. i made a mistake! hahah. yes yes fujiki's tada sensei. and hotaru no hikari's male lead (forgot his name in the show eeks). hahah but somehow i still find naohito's a lil irritating. maybe because the first show i watched with him around was prodai, which is why i developed a bad first impression of him! oops. and i checked jdramas out! thanks it's really gooood :D
and am i the only one who thinks that matsumoto jun looks like mizushima hiro?! hahaha. i can't help it. you know when i first watched hana kimi, i was thinking whether it was jun-kun... eeks.

^ hahah YEAH i remember when i was young (like primary school) mediacorp (singapore's main broadcaster) had this cooperation with Fuji TV!!! WHICH IS LIKE WAHHHH. WHY DID THEY STOP IT?! :( :( :( i only managed to catch a few shows. like Summer Snow! and a few episoses of Kindaichi (remember how famous domoto tsuyoshi was.....) i know they played the kimutaku's show where he was the pilot too and everyone was crazy over him 0.0

yenny1106: Huh??? Nah ... I think Yutaka is way more handsome than L. And more tan for one. Heheheh. But yeah, I'll always remember him in [Heaven's Coins].
whozthat: Yeah, they just totally stopped. But I recalled they were dubbed in mandarin too. I still prefer the original japanese vocals with the chinese subtitles. It's just like watching those HK drama dubbed in Chinese.
hisashi
06-18-2008, 05:37 AM
Yutaka as L? I think he looked more like Ken Hirai, like Eurasian.
Yeah, I also had this image of him in Heaven's Coins. I didn't even watch his drama, Rondo.
Seems like all the late 20s and early 30s male actors have faded, they don't get the best script I guess.
Erm, that means we are old.. lol.
Summer Snow? Think it was Domoto's last famous show. =p His other famous show included Ao No Jidai (My other fav show other than Summer Snow).
I remembered in the early days like mid 90s or so where Ch 8 aired Ai Qing Bai Pi Shu, it was dubbed in Mandarin and even the Proposal 101 and that Cinderella show.
Later Ch 8 changed to dual sound but I got to know more from Prime 12 ie the Central channel now..like Innocent child, Heaven's coins, The Chef. Then later SCV introduced Jet TV and I got to watch a bit here and there on Ao No Jidai (very sad story..)
But then I thought they aired Pride and Engine too? Anyways bcos of the high demand in Korean and Taiwan shows and perhaps the copyright is too ex for Jdoramas, ch 8 don't show as much jdoramas now.. ><
That's all..my history on watching J doramas, hope doesn't bore you all. xD

^ Yutaka always reminds me of the Japanese version of Louis Koo. I recalled during that period of time, I was crazy over Louis Koo too. They both have that same tanned look and chiselled jaw.
Yeah, you made me realize that they aired jap dramas on Ch12, that was how my mom saw [Heaven's Coins] and introduced me to that. I didn't catch the first one though, only the sequel where Yutaka's role was heavier. It's a pity these actors have kinda had lesser roles.
I still follow closely to Yutaka's drama and Takashi Sorimachi's. His last [Dream Again] was pretty good. As for the newer generation of actors, like Yama P etc, I still am not that familiar, except the recent [Honey & Clover] made me fall in love with Ikuta Toma.
I am also a fan of Satoshi Tsumabuki. Loved him especially in [Orange Days], [Slow Dance] and [Lunch no Joou]. And of coz' not forgetting the ever charming KimuTaku. I would have to say [Good Luck] is my most favourite drama of him. He's so cheeky in there. Seldom see him in cheeky roles, I should say.

cacky, Oh I recently watched Wonderful Life by Takahashi Sorimachi and thought it was like HOTMAN. I think both are as good but Wonderful Life added some meaning to life.
Oh I was introduced to Heaven's coins when I was switching channels after the 10pm ch 8 drama or news? and found this wonderful drama and made me catch very week with my sis after the first episode. That made me leave a very deep impression where Suichi promised Aya that he will 'fetch' her after he went to Tokyo. And Hokkaido is pretty. =p
I found Yama P quite cute in Nobuta Wo Produce, I like his kon kon signs and his 'love' for Nobuta. I don't like the other guy though. Last night I was searching for some drama and found Toma acted in Akihabara@Deep! Eew..he is an Otaku.
Oh yes Saotshi Tsumabuki..he is not that outstanding as the others but I found him real cute in Slow Dance and that brotherly love in Nada Sou Sou. His acting is natural. Very neighbourhood boy.
I haven't watch Orange Days and DoDoro. Hope it's nice.
Btw, the drama for Koizora is casted. It's going to air on 2nd Aug. I don't have pics of them but I saw from another form, I thought the male lead looked like Takky but..Haruma Miura is better! :D

^ I didn't catch [Wonderful Life]. Was it something about baseball? When I saw [Dream Again], I thought it was almost similar plot coz it was about baseball too.
Anyway, I loved [Hotman]!!! I prefer Part 1 than 2 though. Yes, if you love Satoshi in [Slow Dance], you'd love him in [Orange Days] too. I loved the pairing between him and Kou Shibasaki in [Orange Days]. I love Kou a lot as she looks like a gal with a lot of spunk. I especially loved her pairing with KimuTaku in [Good Luck].
You are right, Satoshi's very much like a boy-next-door, which is what I really liked about him. He's been into more movies than dramas lately. I can't wait for another drama with him in it again.

Oh I just saw on MTV channel about some period-movie Satoshi's in.. hmm.. ha..
Oh yes I believe Heaven's Coins was the 1st J-dorama I watched and loved it so much! I cried quite a bit lei haha... part 1 was really nice! thought it was nicer than part 2, but part 2 had more of Yutaka. Noriko Sakai (is it?> the female lead heehee..) was really an yu4 nv3 ha....Then there was the remake of it with a totally new cast which couldn't make it I thought.
Oh no all these talk reveal our age! haha..

It's based on a mobile phone novel written by a young woman in Japan.
This is the temporary site for the drama: Here (http://www.tbs.co.jp/koi-zora/cast/)~

But firstly, I thought the storyline is not concrete enough. But I love the casts for the Koizora movie, so I actually watched it.

Just wondering why can't Michiru stand up for herself more after countless violent acts. Maybe I don't know the history between the 2 of them. But it scares me to think that once one is in the relationship, it's hard to get out of it despite how violent it gets.

I found it! google indeed is very friendly.! :D So it is Iketeru - means good looking so short form for good looking guys is Ikemen! It is Japanese slang.

Code Blue
from Tokyograph
The drama's full title is "Code Blue: Doctor Heli Kinkyu Kyumei." The concept is based on Japan's proposal for an emergency medical service using helicopters to quickly reach those in need. A special bill was passed in June 2007 that should foster widespread adoption of the system.
Yamashita stars as a young doctor-in-training, working under the guidance of an experienced "flight doctor" (Toshiro Yanagiba). Some scenes will be filmed with a real helicopter, adding to the show's tension.
The supporting cast includes Yui Aragaki, Erika Toda, Manami Higa, Yosuke Asari, Kiyoshi Kodama, Ryo, Tetta Sugimoto, Susumu Terajima, and Masanobu Katsumura.
Fuji TV will broadcast "Code Blue" on Thursday nights at 10:00pm, starting sometime in July.

^ LOL. Ryo is not that kind of person. He's just acting that kind of character. But I thought he had done it pretty well. XD In some cases, I was grabbing my shirt, fearing him half-wondering and half-expecting what's he gonna do.
Uh, come to think of it. I did also have to take some time getting used to Ryo's character there. It's pretty scary huh? XD
But I love Juri more in LF. She's the best actress. What I love about Ueno Juri's performance here is how she's almost in continuous, impatient motion. There's not one second where she's relaxed, even in the very last scene. Her eyes dart around the periphery with mistrust and stare down strangers with passive aggression. And her mouth is so clenched. If I stay here too long, somebody might catch me. She feels like she's stealing her moments with Michiru.
Director and writer did a great job leading both actresses in their parts - everything felt perfect.
In the later parts, I got rather disappointed with the storyline. But do carry on. I thought this is rather a great drama with fresh genres etc.

Anyway, my views on the first ep. :P
Even though Gakki's and Pi's character are too serious for me at the 'mo - I do understand this is how a doctor is supposed to be on the other hand, but Erika's and the one with glasses are a break from the other two - if you get what I mean. XD
A little bit scary in some scenes (with those blood and stuffs), but still very enjoyable! Can't wait for the second episode! Yay! Plus, Mr. Children done such an awesome job for the theme song! Totally love!

I am always backdated for jdramas. So yeah I will talk about the summer shows in Oct/Nov. =p
Now I am watching 14 sai no haha. Shida Mirai acts too matured for her age. It takes quite sometime for me to believe in her. ><
About Miura, well, I can say that this character is 'useless'. I can see that he is trying hard to squeeze some facial expressions but..to no avail. =p
But the story is interesting but maybe too heavy? I like the Miki's parents acting. Especially the gokusen sensei. Haha. Caught me by surprise.
And her best friend Megu is actually the girl who acted in LIFE. She is such a b*tch in 14 sai no haha but yet in LIFE, she is such a nice girl.

^ hahaha yeah, you're right :X no tension in the drama! like Iryu they'll really go in depth about the medical stuff, and there's really something informative in the drama (except that some of the information aren't exactly reliable haha). i just hope Code Blue will have something exciting in the next few episodes!

Hmmmmm, what happened to the usual gang? Busy watching episodes of the doramas? I have just started on [Change]. A bit late I know. But I totally love KimuTaku in this role. Well, at least for the first episode.
It's a change to see him being ordered around by people and not play the cool dude as always.
ps. I like the way he wears his suit and matches it with sports shoes. Hhehehe, so cute.

yo! gomen ne I was busy with the exams but I just finished watching Change after the exams are over haha well, it's really good drama! If we can have this type of politician in real life, that must be cool.
I'm sure you will love KimuTaku even more in this role, Cacky ^^
right now, I'm watching Code Blue for the serious mood, Yama P is awesome (kakkoi ne) and Maou for the relax mood  somehow it's amused me to see Ohno's acting, he is way too serious. And this makes me to get the Devil korean version to watch.
anyone watch koizora drama version?

Okay, maybe someone can help me out in here.
It's an older jdrama, maybe from last year or so? Anyway, it was about a guy who was trying to get into a high school but his family was poor. He helped out around the house and worked construction at night. And some girl liked him but doesn't know he's poor.
Anyone know? I never finished it and want to watch it, but forgot what it was called.

pamujung: I was just thinking to myself. KimuTaku has taken on roles like a murderer, ice hockey player, car racer, pilot and now ... a politician??? I mean ... what next???!!! It might be nice to watch him play those submissive househusbands. Hhahahaha, that would be a real challenge I think, since he's always acting cool.

I am almost done with [Change]. Love it ... once again KimuTaku has proven his great acting skills. There were some moments that got me cracked up.
Such as when he disappeared and the gang were trying to hide the news and his publicist Nirasawa had to wear this momo hair wig just to disguise as him and also when Asakura was almost kissing Miyama at the door and the duo came back and Asakura pretended to lie on the floor drunk. Those sure were funny scenes!

And some girl liked him but doesn't know he's poor.I also think of Yamada Taro Monogatari except that the storyline is not exactly match, in this one the lead role didn't try to get into the high school, indeed he is a scholarship student of the high rank school that only rich people can afford. Anyway he do help out in the family and also do many part-time jobs to feed his big family, he has lots of sisters and brothers. And there is one girl who deosn't know that he is poor, actually nobody in school knows that he is poor :D
so pho sho does that sound familiar to you? If yes, then it must be Yamada Taro ^^;
Cacky >> and don't forget that he also takes the role as prosecutor in Hero and as the executive director who commit suicide at the end in Karei naru Ichizoku. I think he had taken so many roles already, only that we can't watch all of his works, I doubt he played that kind of role when he was young lol

I finally finished Last Friends...
I have mixed feelings about it.... Though it challenges the norm of Japanese dramas, I thought the plot is not knitted tightly enough to grab one's attention.
Hmmm... Maybe because I took too long to finish it..
Anyway, I should move on to Change...

YES! I also choose which dramas I will watch for the next season already
our Ryo and Nino from Arashi will be sibling in this drama called Ryusei no Kizuna, plus Toda Erika.
and I gonna watch Bloody Monday which Miura Haruma will be the lead role in it.
For my amusement, I choose Room of King, a comedy drama starring Mizushima Hiro (from Zettai Kareshi and HanaKimi) and Anne Suzuki (she is the actress in Initial D)
But not really expect to watch the Innocent Love but may be the Team Batista no Eiko another medical drama ^^

I am also looking foward to Ryo and Nino's drama and gathered that this is an adaptation from a novel
so there bound to be comparsions but I never or rather don't read any of the Japanese novels. =p
But there are a lot of good reviews about Nino's acting so far I have only watched Yamataro so hope to see more of his good acting. =)
Yes! Bloody Monday is adapted from manga so hope that Haruma will have some breakthrough in his acting!
Just started on Gokusen 3, I like the stories that happened to each of the student, though similar but it's a bit different here and there and of cos eye candies? lol.
Don't see why people don't like to watch.
Next drama is Change. Heard so much of it and can't wait to watch another splendid acting by Takuya!

just finished kimura takuya's " change ". interesting plot . good pacing n good acting from both takuya n the female lead ( she the same girl with takuya frm " a million stars " . her acting is really good here . the ending would be perfect if she followed her initial dream career instead of settling into a supportive role to the " hero " . if the ending have both reverse roles - that would be so progressive . still , this is a must watch jdrama for its revealing the workings of a japans majority n opposition parties .

I just completed Gokusen 3 but i think that it's no on par with the first two season be it the casts or the stories. For the first two seasons, after watching the show the casts left me deep impression, even the less featured casts but for Gokusen 3, the only thing i remember is that there are 6 main students and one of them is Miura Haruma, i can hardly remember the others. I guess it's because of the comparision with the first two seasons and the hope of using this popular drama to bring fame to some new actors/singers. Might be a little harsh but i think it's a disappointment to me. Probably that's also the reason why Nakama Yukie didn't want to work on the Gokusen 3 special.
Started on a couple of japanese drama for this season and here are some little review of the shows which i've watched so far:
Room of King - watched the first two episode and i've decided not to continue not because of the cast, after all, it's the cast which i'm attracted to watch it. I think the storyline is not that appealing to me.
Oh! my girl - I like the chemistry between the male lead and his niece in the show. The ending for the first episode is really a touching one. I wonder how the progress of the male lead and his niece will be as the show progress.
Ryusei no Kizuna - need i say more of the storyline? i'm sure this show attracts many viewers (you can tell from the high rating of episode 1) because of the storyline and of course the strong cast of 2 johnny's, Ninomiya and Nishikido and Toda Erika. I think that the chemistry between the 3 of them as siblings are really good as though they are real siblings. And after the first episode introduction, i'm sure the next episode onwards, more things will be revealed as they seek revenge for their parents.
Bloody Monday - By accident came across this show and watched the first two episode. I simply love the suspense of the show and how things are being portrayed in the show. Especially the male lead hacking of the systems was being portrayed using visual of the falcon barging into different places which represents the computer system. I think it's really a good idea to have such visual instead of just showing boring computer screen which non IT savvy people will not be able to understand.
Celeb to Daihinmin: it was said that Aya Ueto is portraying Paris Hilton in the show but after watching it i don't really think so. Other than she's rich, having her own brand which resembles Paris Hilton but so far the characters in the first episode doesn't give me the feel that she is portraying Paris Hilton. Light hearted and funny show though.
By the way, are there any other worth watching drama this season?

^ I finished [Tomorrow]. The thing about Japanese dramas are that they will always leave behind a message for you to ponder. And it's always about having the country pride in them and working for the better for the country.
It's a rather inspiring drama I must say, though at some point in time, it was quite slow moving. I have moved on to [Lotto 6 de San-oku Ni-senman En Ateta Otoko]. Heard that it's based on a true story.

Just starting to watch Honey and Clover.
I didn't watch the anime version too. If I have watched the anime, I won't probably like the drama, just like Hana Yori Dango Taiwan version. But put this aside, I think what attracts me is how the Japanese film it as a typical Japanese way, slow and subtle.
I have nothing to compare but it really gets me into the story. I like the character development too. Reminds me of some campus love stories..
I am at episode 7 but in each episode, something will happen or rather the story will get develop and get me into the next one.
I like Morita senpai the most in the beginning, but now I think Takemoto attracts me with his down to earth character? I like his narration of his thoughts. It gives me a lot of thoughts.
I like Ayumi, I feel that she is like me. Haha.

Maou, boring? Oh no..I am starting this next after HnC. Haha. Hope it's exciting.
His narrations remind me of Hana Kimi actually. Haha. But then it really makes me think on how deep Takemoto's thoughts are and his eyes attracts me and I actually teared during 'his dad came to visit him' episode. I always get touched by family relationship rather than love relationship. =p

Just that they keep repeating those same few scenes. Watch it and you'll know what I mean. I can't wait to finish watching it.
Have never been so tortured by a drama before. I feel like giving up yet I'm already halfway through!

Just started on Maou and have watched till epi 8. Now then it's the exciting part...after so many episodes, it's a bit like Blood Monday.
I know why it's boring cos it's going round in circles and no one actually knows who is the murderer.
But I must say that the arashi guy is not bad. So is Toma.
He is so funny in Tokyo Friend Park II!

Re Maou, I still find that it was filmed in a Japanese way. Towards the last few episodes, finally he can see the light but still...I wonder if life can be that dramatic.. XD
