However, the theme here is much more serious.

Its an anime that has recently come out, though it is out in manga.

You may enjoy reading or watching it.

The author of this anime is usually a comedy writer, but this time, he's gone for serious stuff.
SO this is his first serious themed anime.
THOUGH it has bits of fun and humour throughout his pieces of work!

Has some scary parts. Some parts do remind you of Blood +, if you have already seen that.

FINALLYYYYYYYYY ! I was expecting a thread with thissss anime!!! I love Vampire Knight!!!! and I think Kaname Senpai is so hot :shy:

I watched the first episode in Veoh and it hooked me up immediately... so I ended up reading the whole manga....
The anime is ok...I think is going pretty fast though.
The manga is always better...the only bad thing is that I have to wait every month for the manga to come out! Since it is sooo interesting, it kills me to wait for so long. The anime episodes come out every Monday in RAW version, the sub version is uploaded every Wednesday.

Sooooo, for the VN fans...my question is..which couple do you prefer? Kaname-Yuki or Zero-Yuki???

I found out a couple of weeks ago that Zero's voice is the same guy that did Light in Death Note! so nice~

Anyways, what I like most about the anime is how the plot keeps twisting XD it keeps it more interesting :)

Apart from Kaname and Zero, I think Aido Senpai is hilarious. And I hate the fact that Yuri is too "weak"? Like they portrait women as if they need someone to protect her XD thats my opinion cuz all the female characters are weak so far. But I think it is not just VN, almost every other anime right? JP culture?

yeah, the japanese do portray women as weaker.
Its a mens society really.
I was there just awhile ago, and my brother's friend's wife who is one who strives to be very successful did state that she found this hard, as they always tried to push her down.
Either that, they'd prefer to give a male the higher position.

Its just an old fashioned thought.
But in a way, strength wise, men are stronger...haha, and plus we dont really want to get battered and bruised and scarred, so lets let the men do the dirty work :wink2:

so seeing Zero animated made me very happy. well even though he's angsty and all but he's just HOT! especially when he's holding the gun. plus it helps that i love miyano mamoru's (Zero's voice actor) voice. he played Yagami Light in Death Note and Tamaki in Ouran High School.

so of course i'll root for Zero x Yuuki!
i think Kaname is too creepy (he has scary stalker-ish tendencies o_0) and he slaps Aidou around way too much! :-x plus he doesn't respect or bother about anyone else except his no. 1 Yuuki. i think he's especially rude to Zero over how he spared his life just because Zero is of use to Yuuki (as a bodyguard). that just makes me dislike him even more. so what if he loves Yuuki more than anything else?

actually i don't feel that Yuuki is very weak. in fact i'll say she's one of the more gutsy main girl in a shoujo series. true she usually has guys to come to her rescue but at times she's able to fend for herself before help arrives. let's hope she becomes stronger. or else i'll be very disappointed at yet another gender stereotype.

I watched it yesterday too~ I was so pissed because I used to watch it on Veoh because the quality was way better than Youtube and now, Veoh has restricted international viewers -.- that sucks! I feel so discriminated!

If you really want to avoid spoilers, I recommend you also not to pay attention to either the opening and ending theme song.

Thanks for the link applemac! When i first started watching it, i realized that there are similarities to twilight. Like how the vampires have different individual powers and are restraining themselves from human blood. And of course, their drop-dead beauty lol. Kaname is like Edward and Zero a bit similar to Jacob in a way that he hates vampires. And also to Yuki and Kyo from Fruits basket. Hehe Vampire knight kind of reminds me of Zombie Loan too...don't know why.

you really should watch fruits basket lil~jo:wink2: I actually gave up watching it after the first two episodes because it did not really look interesting. But then i don't know what made me pick it up again, after quite some time actually, and i really thank the gods above for making me do that lol. I'm now really, really glad that i watched it. It's a very touching anime. and funny also at times. I've re-watched it over a few times already lol.

Guys did you watch the last episode? It has finally caught up with the manga! I think they are like 1-2 episode behind... I wonder what are they gonna do! Is it the end of season 2? :( I hate to wait! I wait each month for 1 episode of the manga to be released online... and now that the anime has caught up I wonder if they are gonna stop airing, or will they make up new episodes? I have read all of the manga for Vampire Knight that are out. I only watched one episode of the anime though. I could not stand it. Maybe it is because I am so used to just reading it, because I could not take the anime. (Ahaha) Yuki's voice bothered me a lot. I have to be really into it to watch it...

I haven't really spoken here before, but I finished the whole series XD in a week. And caught up to date with the manga.

Does anyone know if there will be a season three????
I hate the position they ended the anime. It is like 'leaving' no sequel exactly, but like a season. I hope there is another season to sum it up or something.

I love the anime, but I loveth emanga more. I feel like the manga has a ton more parts that are missed in the anime. But the anime definitely makes the scenes more "real" than the manga.

I am sooo stuck with whether I truly care for Zero or Kaname >_< at the beginning I was all Kaname-senpai <333 and then I felt sooo bad for Kiryuu-Zero soo bad!!! I dunno. They both are truly <3s and it is hard to really take a position for both.

But when I figured the "secret" behind Yuuki's past. I was shocked!!! I did not expect that at all.

Hmmm, also, does anyone know when the manga comes out every month?

I cant believe season 2 has already ended! The ending was rather sudden. And Kuran Rido was finished off too easily. I thought that there will be more action before he can be killed. Just one shot and he is dead :oops: I don't feel that satisfied with the ending... Not that i can come up with a better ending as Yuki will have to hurt either Zero or Kaname because she can't be with both of them at the same time.

Any season3 soon?
