i hope no one has opened a thread on this yet. i browsed a bit and found none.
but i want to say i hate hoochie bands, maybe not the person but their influence on your kids even little 10 year olds. i hate how everything is about sex and being sexy. RRRRRR they're messing up our little sisters!!!
it's sad to see little girls trying to dress up like their slutty pop stars. i makes me sick, and it makes me so sad!

yeah...im so anti these bands and artists whcih try and sex up kids..like the pussycat dolls..urghh they really disgust me and they bring down females in society..
also with the hip hop singers who sing about girls in eww terms and leading girls around with a dog collar...gross..women have been fighitng for our rights for the past few decades and these artists and bands whcih influnce our society is taking a step back of what they have done

dang it, i lost my post. i don't want to rewrite what i wrote..
to sum it up. i agree with you. they downgrade their own kind, it's such a shame. they make us look like sex toys for men to play around with.
anyway... i used to like kpop music until they started becoming slutty... like lee hyori, baby vox, and so on...
EDIT: in my post that never made it before, i also said, WHAT? WOMEN IN DOG COLLARS? T___T... what video? i've never seen that before.

haha kids these days..they sure grow up fast, eh?
well put it this way,
if you are a parent and you have a firm and stable upbringing [i've yet to see any parents who says they don't do a good job even tho they actually don't...lol...EVERYONE WILL SAY THEY ARE THE BEST PARENTS IN THE WORLD so it will boil down to your own integrity and priciples]
and you are open to talk bout anything with your child then i supposed being firm when some hootchies are current "role models" should come in emphasis - NO means NO.
that's where we should step in -
sorry...you're too young to put on make up or buy those clothes
and i think, since if i am parents and i don't indulge or buy those stuff for my kids, then hahahaha what are they goin to do?
we cannot stop the industry for selling these people but we can stop ourselves from supporting them and also restrict our children or younger siblings from buying them.
do the first part.
but then again, there are some kids who are already selling themselves in every possible way yyou can never imagine ugh..so if you know of that, call the coppers la... but really...we have to do our part if we feel uber strongly about this....educate others....hard work but gotta start sumwhere...
my 2 cents only. ... pls dun stone me ><

i'm not gonna stone you... but since you said it, i'm tempted.. hehe no j/k.. i'm not a violent person :excited:.
i think parents can help a lot. my parents were tough on us. we were restricted to a lot of things. i complained all the time back then and how i hated the way they were bringing us up. i remember once ranting this to a close teacher of mine in high school. she told me, one day, you'll thank your parents. guess what? she was right. i thank my parents to much for not letting me do some things back then like put on make, wear certain kind of clothes, going out all night... because of their restrictions, they have saved me in many ways.
anyway, getting off topic..
*erase

i was going to say something but got interrupted by a classmate and so i kind of lost my train of thoughts.
i would have to agree on the sibling thing too. because my older siblings didn't do some stuff, i was kind of shy to do those stuff... and i think they were very good role models to me <3.
anyway, i hate TV these days. they're nothing but sex and money.. seriously, it's in every show, desperate housewives, two and a half man, friends, you name the rest...
they think dating and sleeping with 20 people in one year is okay..RRGH, sorry people if you oppose me.. but i'm against that kind of lifestyle and way of thinking.

My little cousins are influencing with these hoochie bands/ artists now. And i could usually see them wearing those clothes that looked just like the bands/ artists when they wanted to go out. And i would asked that in my mind like.. 'What is wrong with you?!' or 'Wth are you wearing?!' And this gives me sort of goosebumps halfway, while seeing them wearing like that.
Ok not just my cousins though, mostly all of my friends wore just like that sometimes. That giving me creeps and again, goosebumps. This thing is seriously influencing many people nowadays. Just dont know what those bands/ artists brain thinks.

Using sex appeal to sell albums is awful!
Case in point Wondergirls (KPop) and their new single "So Hot"
Ummm....no...you're 15yrs old and don't need to be shaking your @ss like that.
It gives a misguided and reckless image of Asian women to the Western world and vice versa.

i was just having this talk with my boyfriend yesterday on American girlgroups who come out promoting their songs in slutty clothes. we were talking about the girl group called Danity Kane, who is made by P.Diddy. Basically we were saying that all the girl and boy groups under his label will be one hit wonders because he doesnt know how to promote them. tho several years ago, there was one group called Dream (hit song-"He Loves U Not") they came out pretty popular like all girly pink pop and was signed onto P.Diddy's label and for their second album, its first single was sooo different because they looked more mature and sexy. However, the group broke up because they were pressured by P.Diddy that they have to be very sexy and they didnt like the idea. see what sluttyness can do to good girlgroups?!
ugh! i just hate it when the groups have really good talents singing, dancing etc. but nooo, they have to appear all slutty and whatnot. dont they realize that just their talents alone can make them succeed but oh well, sometimes i guess they have to listen to their bosses first until they are really popular, then they can do their own thing. cuz right now, sex sells *sigh*

is it just me and my opinions?? sometimes, i feel like asian pop music industries only chose singers for their looks rather than their talents.. BUT if they're very talented and do not have the look, they'll get surgery to have that sharper chin, bigger and pointeier nose, and BEEEEEEEEEEG puppy eyes.

ummm...it's not just you
i think it's very true as well...but not just in the Asian pop scene (maybe more so) but in popular entertainment in general all over the world

yeah but in the asian pop scene its so much more noticable..like how many asians have high nose bridges...size 2 or 4's with d cup boobs...double layer eye lids.... i reckon its worst in asia than america coz these celebrities are promoting near impossible things for asians to have thus promoting plastic surgery to adolescences..at least in america..it looks more natural e.g. caucasians have high bridge noses, double layer eye lids naturally
but i dont think hoochie bands are as bad as the cutesy ones happening in asia...its just dumb that 25 year old female adults are behaving like 6 year old children..grow up...

cutesy girl bands...and boy bands...another irritant
so we have young girls acting and dressing well beyond their age...and older women acting and dressing like children.
i look at some of these girls and cannot believe how old they really are, some are just children and they are paraded around with these over sexed images.
cutesy girl bands...i suppose they'll do anything to compete

haha this made me laugh

anyway..
@SIMPLE GIRL: i know what you mean. the reason why you think it's worse in asia and not in america is only because americans have those traits already and don't need to "improve" anything more except their boobs, butt, legs, etc..
don't you guys notice? i didn't until not too long when a friend ranted about it to me, until i heard a little on tv, and my sister said she hated it a lot!!!
ASIANS TRY TO LOOK WHITE!
i do see it now.. there are asian celebrities that look half asian and half white and they're not even mixed. then, there are also asians who try to look black.. i can't name them cause i don't know their names, except for this one.. LEE HYORI.. didn't she kinda of looked black once or was it just me? i did notice her unnatural darker skin color.. thought it was weird.
sometimes, it just doesn't seem right when people try to change their race.. i guess for fun is understandable, i would do crazy things for fun.. but when you do it for reals, and sell your face in magazines, tv, cd covers, and you do it for years (and maybe even deny it!) that's just BAD! it's a shame.
but i have to admit, some people do look good though.. :shy:

those poeple might looks good but not as good as the natural looking asians e.g. gong li is so beautiful even for her age, zhang zi yi, ariel lin, hebe tian, yoon eun hye...
hyori lee...just looks weird she wants to look western but had too much botox on her cheeks so her eyes are tiny(even for asian)..and she wants to be thin and have big boobs..uit looks to awkward/weird..like all her dancing is suppose to be for curvy women like jessica alba and beyonce..hyori lee just doesnt look 'right' to me
and ayumi hamasaki is going to be fun to look at when she over the 30 mark.. and then we can watch her age from then..or age with botox

You know...it is kind of insulting if you think about it
When prominent Asian's pretty much say, looking Caucasian is more beautiful than looking Asian.
Thank goodness Hyori toned her image down a notch.
Seriously though, Ayumi Hamasaki tries too hard to make her eyes look big. She constantly looks like a deer caught in headlight (still like her songs though)
I <3 Gong Li

so are you guys saying gong li is natural? just asking cause i don't know much about her.
i do agree, the ones that try to look caucasian look hot but the more beautiful people are the natural ones..
i think ayu is pretty ^_^U but i do know and think she looks fake, dolly, white, plastic, etc.
