I feel kind of lost here.

Well, I suppose an introduction would be in order. I'm moyou, and I'm posting in a forum specially created for clueless people like me, who have no idea of what a computer can do. Hmm...this is actually a little fun.

I'm an ethnic Chinese living in America, but I really have very little knowledge of China and its culture. Recently, however, some of my friends got me into C-pop, though, and I'm pretty sure I'm addicted now. I got into jay-chou.net following some links about Huang Yida, an artist I love, but now I'm looking forward to learning so much more about Jay Chou and Asianpop from this site.

I wonder, if I'll find a (metaphorical) map?

Hi Moyou!!

:welcome: to JCNet!!

If you want to find out much more about Jay, then you're in the right place *wink* I'm Paola from Venezuela, nice to meeting you!!

Don't worry if you're feeling lost, it's normal cuz this is your first day but with time you'll be fine. You can read the rules to learn a lil bit more how this forum works (Forum Rules (Click Me) (http://www.jay-chou.net/forums/showthread.php?t=152) and you're more than welcome to join our Buddy Program (http://jay-chou.net/forums/showthread.php?t=277621). You'll find all the help you need there.

If you started to listen to C-pop recently, don't feel bad...it's never too late

Thanks so much for the friendly reply!

Yeah, I am kind of late in coming to C-pop, but it's probably going to become my favorite genre of modern music.

Oh! A question! Which of Jay's songs would you recommend for a newbie like me?

Oh, I'm a Chinese-American as well. I won't lie, I'm pretty much like you with little knowledge of China and its background. I'm quite white-washed. Oh dear, all those influences in school...

So, hi! Haha, I forgot to introduce myself. Hehe. Anyway, I'm Connie. Hm, I'm an average teenager who isn't really average but unique in different strange characteristics. Welcome to this forum. I'm a noob as well so don't feel left out here.:wave:

PM = Private messaging. you can find this function by click on someones username and on the second option it says send private message to _____. the thank button is not located in the newbie sanctuary. the thank you button is found on the first post in the end of the post, right corner. you use it to say thank you instead of posting a reply saying "thanks for the news" or whatever.

Well, as long as I'm a newbie, I guess I'll just have to say thanks the old fashioned way.

Thank you, 50chicken, for the info. And thanks, Connie, for the knowledge that bananas are not alone.

Haha, I was confused at first when you said bananas. I actually thought about it and I got it! Sometimes, I can be extremely slow. It's okay, you're not lonely here.

People often use the term Twinkee but bananas are acceptable. I honestly prefer bananas instead. I feel... edible. :3

it's kind of funny when you think about it...bananas are yummy...and surprisingly, they're in high demand.

Oh, my cousin is a nutritionist and she lectured me about the vitamins from foods. I somehow got majority of it memorized too. I also remembered her mentioning bananas and potassium and energy and all that fun stuff.

I'm not a quite big fan of science but I'm doing fine with science in school. I don't really have goals for my future career. In fact, I don't know what I want to be in the future. I live under my mom's expectations which she wants me as a pharmacist. Therefore, I just be excellent in science. Oh, the joy... Science isn't my thing. :(

No problem Moyou!...you're not late at all...and as for me, it has became my fav kind of music...Asia has amazing artists...and well since you're asking for songs mmm Qi Li Xiang, Ye Qu, Fa Ru Xue, Cai Hong, Wo Bu Pei are really great...Jay has so many songs, songs for all tastes really so you better get all his albums and start listen to them haha.

50chicken already gave you some tips about PM and the "Thank you" button but just in case, you should read these:

How to post 'thank you' post? (http://jay-chou.net/forums/showthread.php?t=16190)

If you wanna know more, you can read the FAQ (http://jay-chou.net/forums/faq.php) or PM any mentor like me or 50chicken if you have questions.
