I also voted for entry 01 :) i like the way the artist gave the design an astrological feeling ... kinda like looking up at the stars and finding the constellation that makes up your horoscope. i also like the colors the artist used in this design ... 3 pictures of jay himself wearing black clothes ... goes really well w/ the gray and dark blue background. this design is mysterious yet romantic and would be well-liked by both guys and girls.

ok, this is weird... :? when i use netscape as my browser to view the entries. #3 and #4 are the same (the one with the piano) - refreshing the page doesn't work. but when i use internet explorer, #3 and #4 are different. hmmm... maybe it's just me. :glug:
anyway, i voted for entry #1. i can imagine that being a real CD front and back cover. :D i like the simplicity of the design and the astrological look. nothing was overdone. nice layers of jay pics. it was pleasing to the eye and just great overall. #3 would've been my other choice cuz i think the piano and the record player really illustrated the antique effect. but it was just a lil' busy for my taste, so #1 won me over in the end. all the entries were superb. :yeah: thanks for sharing all your wonderful work, designers.

i picked 3.. actually it was a tough choice between the first 3 for me... but i liked the piano and the old record player.. it gives such an 'antique' feel to the cover.. and it goes well with the retro theme that Jay wanted to bring across with his YHM album...

wacky and JianDan[Ai], I see them as different pictures too... perhaps the change was done... :?
for me it's a close fight between 1 & 2... I chose no. 2 in the end... very natural, well chosen pictures. kind of the 'one-pic-wonder' kind of deal... no 'cut out'/'out of place' touch at all.. I think I would have chosen 1 if not for the extra jay on the lower right corner of the back cover.... erm, sorta lost it's simplicity in there...
I was telling myself... Cd cover... not wall paper... usually Cd covers have this 'cd' touch to them... and I'd say no. 2 has it... she even got the 'copyright' stuff in? that's pro...
btw... was viewing enlarged versions and entry 5 gave me such a good laugh... 'all tracks recorded by jay without a shirt on'... whoever the artist is, you've got a great sense of humor  now, that is like in all our fantasies.... :hmmm: I've got a feeling i just might know whose work it is... don't worry I am not telling

Wow! :excited:
I am amazed by all of the designs! There so fantastic, I don't know which one to choose! It's so hard to choose.
After all the thinking..I picked #1! I just love the look of the design..and it has that nice and calm feeling. It seems like you are looking into the sky and all you see is Jay! Its like a dream come true!
On the front cover, I really like the way they put the glittery star on the top of the cover. A job well done!

wow...all the entrees r impressive!!!
like lattae said...i think no 2 look the most like a cd cover!! hahahha...really impressive...but i think no 3 looked more like ye hui mei!! :hmm:
really a tough choice!!
and i think no 6 looked pretty artistic....
okok...ive decided to vote for no 2...cos i can really imagine it as a cd cover!! hahahha...maybe for jay's 5th album!!
good job everyone!!
edit: wow lattae..i didn notice no. 5's "All tracks recorded by Jay without a shirt on" ...ahhahah...really funny!! :lolabove:

Okay, I have to admit that I'm totally baised. The idea that Jay is naked on a cover was much too tempting.

I'd have choosen #05 if you'd asked me which JAY I liked. Of course, the shirtless one. And the "All tracks recorded by Jay without a shirt on" comment... :brows: I'd definitely buy that album to get the real "feel" of, ar, the songs. :wink2:
I think #03 is cool but when I viewed the enlarged version (which I think is the actual size for a CD cover) I realized I couldn't really read the words on the back. And Jay in T-shirt and Jeans just doesn't quite go with the whole "antique" or "musical" concept. So...
It's really hard to make a choice... They're all pretty good. But I guess what I'm looking for specifically is the one which gives me the FEEL of Yeh Hui Mei. I mean, like I've said, #05 is really drool-worthy, but it feels weird to name THAT album Yeh Hui Mei.
I think I really like #07 because of the colors. They give the best Yeh Hui Mei FEEL. And I just love the object transparency effect! (Sorry, I'm not sure of the terms used) So anyways... I say: #07 for me!
p/s: I'm not saying which one(s) and I'm definitely not an expert when it comes to actually doing graphic design, but I think there could be improvements when it comes to the track list. Some of those kinda remind me of pirated copies... The most "original-looking" track lists would be #02, #03, and #08.

# 6 for me !. It has Jay's new look, a connected /balanced front and back design, it's neat, elegant and has a bit of Japanese album design feeling to it. I also like # 7, but it's a bit too messy, too much pictures on it.
All in all, great submissions, all the contestants should be proud of themselves.

 ahhhh...its so hard to choose!! first off, good job to all the participants. they all look really great and i'm sure you guys spent a lot of time on your submissions.
my favorites are 1, 3, and 8... 1 is really well done. i love the design and whoever did it must be a photoshop pro. jay looked really hot in 8 ..and the design was simple and nice. i'm voting for 3 though because although it doesn't look as professional i really like the pictures chosen. the background, the piano, and i love the record player. they work as great symbols.

I voted for number 7 since it seems to appeal Jay the most to me. I like it when I first see it. The others are pretty good too. Took me like 10 mins to consider which to choose. Hehehe. Still, great job for those who did them.

Okay, my vote totally goes for #8. That is one good-looking sophisticated CD cover front and back. Man, I love it. The design is just so great. Good job whoever did #8! =) You can design my CD cover any day.. ;D
Also really liked everyone else's.. Ah you all are just too talented for your own good. ;D

for completeness, i chose #6. it even has a barcode for goodness sake! =)
#1 is good as well, but it doesnt went down pretty well with YHM's theme.
i love #3 back cover design, very creative, the only back cover tt didn't use a pic of jielun.
#7 was good as well, but overuse of transposing...
but anyway, nice pieces of work, i personally like designin too, just tt i cant design usin computers...

Gosh I like them all...at first I wanted to vote for #1 because it seemed like something that would actually be produced and used as a real album cover but then I changed my mind and I wanted to vote for #4 because I liked how the pictures on the front reflected each other. But then again I changed my mind because I also liked #10 because the designer used the colour pink. I thought it was quite original since you'd never really see Jay in pink. But in the end I voted for #6 the black and white were great choice of colours and I liked the background design and how they kept the original font from the original CD cover.
Overall all the designers did a great job
Also I'm just wondering why are there only 10 entries?

Oh well, everyone's design is awesome. I know that I would never be able to do that. They're all great, really!!!
Entry#1 has a very nice choice of background color and the astrological effect. I love the tracklisting format. It's so graphically neat. The simplicity of choosen Jay's pic has made it even better. Two thumbs up. But is it just me, ... but why don't I see the Ye Hui Mei title there? :?
Entry#3 also caught my attention. I love the classic piano and classic player that was put there. It gives the retro and classic feeling at the same time. And I can really see it as a very elegant CD cover. Good job! But I have to agree with vunsin that the jeans and T-shirt doesn't go well with the classic artistry background. In my opinion, I think Jay's pic in #7 or #9 would be more suitable with this background. :wink2:
Entry#7... Man... I love those image of Jay in Ni ting de Dao, so I can be biased because of this. But I really love the color, the effetcs, the tittle font, and how the chinese and english character of Jay overlap, and the back cover is so nice. Great job. And my only suggestion is... the front cover would be much better with only one picture of Jay (without the transparant image of Jay, 2 pics is too crowded). It makes it more simplistic yet beautiful.
Anyway, I choose Entry#7. The reason is because I simply love everything about it.
But, great job everyone!!! You're all such a talented artist.

WOW! All of these entires are BOMB!  nice job!! 2 all the participants!
Yes indeedy it was very hard to vote for just one.. but i chose #6 becuz i felt that the pictures chosen really matched well with the background + the pictures are !bright! and they bring out jay and all his hott-ness  The layout and pics also seem like they could be on a real jay album cover!! The background was very nicely done with such details!! ooh and the lil scanny thing is a nice touch too!!
But yes all the entries are terrific.. i could NEVER do nething like that! good job to all! :yeah:

When I saw the first few covers, I thought that I will either choose 1 or 2.. but after I scroll down, 7 and 8 make me hesitate... I love 7 because of the backcover... the way the the person put the images are nice so my precious vote goes to 7..
Anyway... all those covers are great...

I agree with you, I also vote for the 3rd entry and i think this entry makes me think of his song, dong fong po and its petty suitable for the title becos parents like those "antique" feeling stuffs.

I especially like Entry 6. It's the only entry that really captures my eyes and made me stop to look at it.I can see that effort has been put into the album cover.hope you win! :)

:excited: WOW! those covers are so impressive! imagine Jay's reaction if he saw those? i'm sure he'd be able to get some inspirations for his next album! :)
congrats on all those who entered! you guys did a great job! it was really hard to decide coz for some of them i liked the front cover more than the back and for others i liked the back more than the front  but in the end, after much debate and consideration, i chose the one i thought looked the most "Jayish" and professional....no. 2! it's stylish but simple at the same time. i esp love the back cover design of this one! it looks so much like a real back cover....well done!

I think entry no 6 is good and the first one where it has a pic of jay in a kind of fantasy theme to it by adding stars and kind of blurring him out, but i chose no 6, because it looks nice and grungy like, and i really like how that person did the back ocver of the album.

These are ALL great entries!! Well done to everyone who entered! Too bad we can only choose one. For me, it's between #6, #7 and #8. They caught my eye first because they all have the nicely matching front and back cover.
I like the simplicity of #6. The tree branch thingies (hehe for lack of a better term) give it an oriental feel. Barcode makes it even MORE CD-like.
I love the pics of Jay in #7.. mMmm he looks so sexy in that crisp white shirt! Okay, like Summer, I may be biased because of these pics!
I like the effect of having Jay's shadow/outline in #8.. I think it looks quite professional, although I find it a bit gloomy.
Still deciding! I'll edit this post later. :wink2:

wOw...i must say that all 10 entries are really impressive...they are all really really good and some of them look very very professional...
bcos this contest is abt redesigning the ye hui mei cover, so i guess one of the more impt criteria is whether the design suits the feel of the album. i guess i would say either 1,2,3,6 or 8.
The first one is good, it looks like a real album cover but it reminds me of the previous three albums; they all had jay s' face on the cover with hardly any backgrd. but then again, it could serve as an indication of how jay has really changed in terms of his hairstyle and everything.
I really like the second one bcos of the back. The back cover is very cool, showing him holding on to a bball, his back facing us. Nice! :) The front is also not bad but i felt that the wordings could have been placed somewhere esle in a nicer way.
As for the third one, I like the piano in the bg...suits the feel very aptly. but jay looks a bit out of place in the clothes tt he is wearing. but the back cover is also v v cool. i like the gramophone. got the sort of antique feeling...
the sixth one, i chose it simply cos it has the sort of olden feeling...it s' very pretty...v nicely done and suits the mood of the album...
den the eight one, it s' v. simple, tt s' why it appeals to me. however, the simplicity of it may not be enough to catch one s' eye.
So...overall, I choose...argh!!! this is sooo difficult...i must really applaud these contestants for such a great job done... my choice is the sixth one bcos i like both the front and the back both equally. but the 2nd and 3rd one were v v close...

i really liked all 10 entries and i have to stand and applaude all that have put efforts into posting cd covers  they were all really great and showed that the contestants put alot of effort into it!!
the one that really caught my eye was number 2. i really felt that it showed the aspects of jay. the dark colors and the solo pics, to me they seem to accent how he is in real life; how he is unique as an artist and as a person.

:excited: :excited: Great 10 Cover designs there!!! Really its amazing that we have such talents in this forum!!! I am really very very impressed good job everybody!! But I guess a competition is still a competition, and I have to think so hard to decide among #1, #2 and #6. They are all sooo goodd!!!
I love #1 is because personally I love black album and Jay looked so handsome in the front cover with those beautiful glittering stars and the backgroud is great too.
I love #2 is because hey it got a CD kind of feeling. I am very impressed with the back cover!!! :excited: Its totally awesome!! With Jay's back as the scene and those fonts used for the songs titles are just great!! I also love the collage kind of feeling of the covers .... Oh the more i see it the more I love it!!!!
I love #6 is because theres such uniformity in the front and back cover!!! The 2 covers blended so well, these covers make me thing of Dong Feng Po with those black paint brushes brushing across the white sheet of papers, making the covers seem so much like a beautiful piece of painting!!! And the blending of Jay inside the covers are just so well done!!! Beautiful piece of cover!!
AAghhhhh!!! I have to take quite a while to make up my mind, and finally i choose #2 is because I just love the back cover so much!!! It seems so "alive" with Jay's back and Im in love with the effect!!
But overall, I really really think that all the 10 contestant's works are masterpiece!! Please do not feel disappointed if your covers do not emerge winner at the end because I feel that all of you are already winners, you have the courage to join in this contest which most of us dare not and still all of you produce such great works!!! You are really great!

I voted for number one.
It was a toss up between #1 or #6. #6 looked ok however, when it was at full size, it looked kind of scary, the black and white that is. #1 looked really professional. Simplistic and professional at the same time. I love how there's another picture of Jay on the cover but they must have set the opacity really low.

All 10 designs are really great, it was really really hard to choose. I like
#5 for obvious reasons :D
#3 for the awesome back cover, it's my fave of the back covers
#6 for the overall appearance
#1 the astro theme is lovely
#8 really professional looking
#10 pink!
I decided to go with #2 in the end because it does give a YHM vibe, and it matches really well, the front and the back.
Well done, designers! :D

Wowwy!!! Great covers!!! Awesome!!! :excited: They're all so pretty...it was hard to choose.
But...I picked #7. I love the colors. Jay's outfit is simple...but sexy. :brows: The colors and the Jay piccies fit well together.
#5 is nice too. His body... But I have to admit...I wouldn't buy an album if somebody shows his half-naked body on his album cover...

At first glance, all the entries were brilliantly superb!!! Kudos to all the contestants who came up with all those creative works. They are all so well done and all the designs surely left me in awe! So professional! And since all the contestants have put in their professional effort, I think they deserve a professional judgement as well. So here's my review on all the entries. (LOL, I'm actually excited to write these reviews!)
Entry #1:
The simple-ness of this design makes it look rather professional and very neat. The use of Jay's image complements the colours really well, and not to mention, the colour scheme blended all perfectly. The designer had successfully used the concept of glitters and lines to enhance the simplicity of the graphic. It could be forgiven that the designer left out some details that would have made it look more professional (let's be more lenient here since they are amateurs after all), BUT not even the title (I didn't see any, unless it's supposed to be that four little boxes below 'Zhou Jie Lun') and at least have the copyright thingy. It would have been more believable that way. I think this entry is graphically wonderful but it looks more like a poster rather than an album cover, overall.
Entry #2:
This design has a simple concept as well. An image of Jay with the blending of background colours. I like the picture of Jay used for this design as it gives a melancholy feel, as some would describe as the 'Ye Hui Mei' feel. The back cover is rather nice and simple too. I supposed the designer thought of putting an image of the back of Jay facing the camera as to complement it as the back cover. Rather thoughtful. But IMO, it lacks concept and doesn't really deliver the whole 'Ye Hui Mei' feel. And the blurry image sort of (impulsively) reminds me of a pirated album without the use of high-quality printing.
Entry #3:
Just a look at this cover and you could tell the designer had a lot of creative ideas s/he wanted to put into the design. The designer focused on classical concept, by the use of different elements, e.g the piano, etc to give the cover that feel. And while doing so, the image of Jay completed the whole look giving it an 'identity'. I think the whole colour scheme blended rather well and it really does give the album a nice 'Ye Hui Mei' feel. What I love most about this entry is that the designer used a record player as the back cover (the only one without Jay at the back cover!), rather stylish while maintaining the original concept, and neat too. The only flaw, the images didn't blend well into one another.
Entry #4:
This cover lacks in a lot of things, basically the concept (it seems like it doesn't have any clear concept at all), the feel, the look, etc. The back cover was rather good though, and it would have been better if both the front and back cover have the same concept.
Entry #5:
This one is either a mockery or that the designer have a very humourous personality and couldn't refrain from putting humour into anything s/he does. The concept, a topless Jay to win the fans over!
Entry #6:
This cover has one of the best design and colour scheme. It uses two contrasting colours and simple designs to implement the feel for the cover. And the image of Jay used for the cover also blended well with the whole concept. And I must compliment the artist as well for being very professional with the cover, being as far as to include a bar-code as well! But one thing that doesn't appeal to me, is that, the whole concept doesn't seem to deliver a 'Ye Hui Mei' feel, and it also looks too overshadowed by the background design.
Entry #7:
This cover has the whole 'Ye Hui Mei' feel, no doubt. All the images used by the artist in the cover gives it the melancholy look. The title design though, spoils the whole look, simply because it didn't blend with the whole concept. A
nd I'm not too impressed with the use of image-overlapping-image concept in the cover because the image didn't seem to complement each other well since both images had very strong details thus defeating each other.
Entry #8:
This could have been a nice cover. Very simple yet not boring-looking. The concept was rather simple, focusing the image on Jay with a simple background. The different shades of the background colours gives it different perspectives and a flipped Jay image on the background was nicely used into effect, not stealing the main focus. The background colour was also nice, maintaining the same concept as the front cover and simple. The lines used enhances the look of the cover. It could have scored if this album wasn't meant for 'Ye Hui Mei' but sadly, this is not the case.
Entry #9:
The colour and the image of Jay used for the cover would have given this cover a nice 'Ye Hui Mei' feel. But unfortunately, the cover lacks in design because the artist fails to experiment more with colour scheme, etc, thus lacks a feel to it.
Entry #10:
Jay in pink! Isn't it diao?! But unfortunately, the whole image didn't blend at all with the background and the title design. This cover doesn't seem to have a clear concept. The back cover though, will be nice for an S.H.E album cover. By the way, do the 'codes' in the background mean anything?
And finally, after reviewing all the entries, my vote goes to entry #3!!! Even though the images didn't blend well (it could have been a lack of technical expertise), but I love the whole concept and all the creative ideas put into the design.
Anyway, all the above are just my personal opinions. Forgive me if my words are rather offensive. I'm just trying to be honest in my opinions. (And please ignore all the grammatical mistakes and limited vocabulary in my language.) Generally, I think all the contestants did a very wonderful job!!! May the best wins!

shirtless Jay... you dont get any better than that~!
the humor aspect is key to my desision~! much like Chun Li... i like half (or whole) naked men~! LOL~! so the sight of a Jay album with "All Tracks Recorded by Jay Without a Shirt On" right on the cover~! priceless~!

i voted for No 1...i think the front cover and the back cover is really nice and could be easily mistaken as a real Cd cover....even though it is simple is had the Pro look in it..
Go No.1 u will win

wow.. all the covers have their own unique points... torn between entry 6 and entry 7... but after thinking for a long time, i decied to choose 6.
7 is nice as it sort of gives people that retro look that this album is into but i think the front is abit too complicated because of that translucent jay on the chair... yeah, but it's still very nice. tough choice. but i had to choose 6 'cause it looks simpler and still has that retro look while retaining the mysterious feel that this album has... yeah, so...

There isn't any great underlying mystery as to why there are only/exactly 10 entries, because that was the total number of submissions we had for the contest. :D
I mean, if we had 12 submissions, we would have 12 entries, wouldn't we? :wink2:
I haven't voted yet because I'm still having difficulty deciding amongst 2 or 3 candidates. May the best entry win.

All entries are not bad, hehe wonder how u all come up with them... I really like several of them, #2, 3, 6, 7 & 9, so its fairly difficult to choose, but eventually I voted for #7. I noticed that its front cover is quite similar to #9, but i like its double image, as it pictures jie lun as v. cool!It also gave the whole album a very professional feeling, and the colour is suitable for tis album's theme of "fu gu" or antique. #6 is nice, but i tot maybe the background is too light? But I still like jie lun's pose... #3 reminds me of 'ni ting de dao' mv, the musical box. At 1 pt I nearly choose that, but maybe jie lun should wear a shirt instead of a polo tee.

haiz.... to be true, i thinks every one is nice and attractive. If it is really necessary, i think i will choose entry 6. Cause its simple but somehow leave a good image. Anyway, the cover is not that important . Jay is famous for his nice songs, right?]
No matter how it looks, we all will still support him : >

Man, whoever made those covers can SO work with Jielun to design the covers of his future albums! They're lovely! I liked entry #2 a lot because of the back cover picture, the one of him holding the basketball. It's very... apt. Entry #6 also caught my eye, and in the end I voted for that because I didn't really like the 'Yeh Hui Mei' words on entry #2. It seems a LITTLE bit out of place.
But yeah, like I said, they're all very nice-looking and all. Great stuff. :)

I think almost all of them are very beautiful.I can't decide which one is the best? So I just close my eyes and choose. And then I choosen NUMBER 1.NUMBER1 is very beautiful and NUMBER 2 too.and NUMBER 3 too and 4 and 5 and 9 and is so complicated. :glug: Actually all are beautiful and creative.I hope I can choose all so that are fair to everybody,HE HE HE HE! :D

Thanks aznboi08 for agreeing, and I thought agreeing means voting for the same entry?
Doesn't anybody else read my reviews? Entry #3 deserved more votes than it actually has now. Come on, vote for entry #3!!!

lol e'Sprit I read your review, good job! very detailed. And I agree with you on some things.
I really hope people aren't just voting for which one looks good, but I'm afraid some are.
What they should really be doing is voting for the one that would suit the Ye Hui Mei theme best.
While #1 is VERY good, I don't see how it relates to the songs in YHM. It would make a great cover for 8 Dimensions maybe.
I was in awe when I saw #6, it has sorta an oriental feel with the tree branches that look like cherry blossom trees. It's gorgeous, and would make a great wallpaper (I hope the artist will make one using that maybe) but again it does not suit the YHM theme. It would work great as an album cover if Dong Feng Po was released as a single.
I agree #3 definitely does fit with the YHM album theme, and so does #7 & #8.
#8 is very well done! But I'm afraid it's the grey that makes it kinda dull, and in turn not attractive enough to receive votes from the members.
So unfortunately while I wish people would vote on which would suit the theme, they are not.
e`Sprit
12-23-2003, 09:13 PM
Thanks jayx8318x for listening in my plea.
I think I overlooked that cherry blossom in entry #6 (I wasn't particularly good with plants). That's a nice one.
I don't see how entry #8 has a 'Ye Hui Mei' feel. Probably you could define more, jayx8318x and give entry #8 more justice. Then probably more people will agree and vote for that entry (hehe, I'm not encouraging lobbying here though).
I think it would be better if the contestants could have described their creations and the concepts they used. Voters could vote more easily when they understand how the contestants came up with the designs. So, anyway, people, vote for a 'Ye Hui Mei' cover, not just an album cover (psst, entry #3).

haha e`Sprit, you're so funny. :D
well, for me, it was down to #1 and #3. i liked those 2 the best. it was really hard to choose cuz for some of the entries, i only liked the front cover or the back, but not necessarily both. #3 was really really good. i loved the back cover and the concept. the piano on the front was an excellent idea, too. the only thing that made #1 won it over for me was the fact that i thought the front cover for #3 was a bit busy-looking. and the jeans with polo shirt didn't fit with the retro theme. if jay had sported a white shirt with a black suit or even just a white shirt with black pants, i would've voted for #3. =) so, even though #1 might not fit the YHM theme the best, it was the one that caught my attention and overall most pleasing to the eye to me. #7 was another entry that i liked simply because i love the "ni ting de dao" song and MV. but again, i thought the images were too busy. if only one photo of jay were used per cover, i might have gone for that one, too. the overlay of 2 images were competing against each other for attention and i found it a bit distracting. so, if the jay of the lower left-hand corner had been subtracted from the front cover as well as the one of him in the grey sleeveless top on the back cover, i would've been deciding b/w #3 and #7.

yeah I thought this was to recreate the "Ye Hui Mei" cover style.
cuz a lot of the covers are good just doesn't fit how the original cover looks like and feels.

12-24-2003, 11:36 AM
wackycashew,
I get your points and actually I do agree with what you said. Actually I did find the front cover of entry #3 a bit too busy too, but I think it's the concept that won me over and how s/he tried to relate it with music, 'Ye Hui Mei' and Jay, most importantly. It's really obvious the designer have a lot of ideas. So yeah, entry #3, all the way!!!

i voted for #7. My poor English doesn't allow me to explain why i chose it. It's just that i felt that it's the right one! There is smth in #7 that fits the album's theme, the album's content. I hope #7 will win :)
yay!!! i haven't been here for couple days, and when i got in here...:excited: i've been waiting for this :D i choose #6... errr fall in love at the first sight.. #1 is great too...kinda hard to choose actually...but yeah i voted for #6... :D

for me it's a close fight between 1 & 2...
I Totally Agree with you!! My vote goes to #2!!!

I have to say great job, to all who've submitted their entries.
But I think #6 captivated me the most, hence my vote went to it. The cover and back match completely, unlike the some of the others (eh, sorry for being critical). And of course, I think Jay looked best in that entry. :)
As the saying goes, may the best man/woman win! :D

I voted for #6~
I thought that #6 was very nice and stylish!! One thing is definite! The original cover of "YE HUI MEI" is always the best!!

i think that #1,2,6,and7 are my favourites. #1 made the cover look very outstanding and it'll definately fit with the inside of the CD case, #2 had that feeling of "The spotlight: JaY Chou", but i dun think it waas enough, but #6 and #7 came very close to me, coz #7 has that YHM feeling, n i think it suits almost every single song in YHM, but I think #6 is the best~~the background looks antiquish, and it also looks uniquely dirty(-_-)n when you stick Jay in it, the whole thing looks sho dam good! ^_____^
but after all dis thinking, i go back to..."hmmm..,,.,.,i still think the orignal is best...." hehe

i went for no 3, cuz i think it shows more to jay than just a pretty face...It tries to show different elements of jay, he's in simple clothings, it shows his creative musical talent, and probably his love for the victorian century..two thumbs up!

I can just imagine the back cover of Entry #1 and #2 as the real cover!! It's original and creative in some way. But don't really like the front cuz i find Jay's head too big. It's somehow feels errr.. weird? :glug:
I went for #9 cuz firstly it's black and it gives out the mysterious feel of the album that you cant wait to see more of it! Ok, or rather listen to more of it. Erm.. Make any sense?
Suddenly, i feel that the original cover shows the diao-ness of Jay. :hmm:

I voted for entry 6 cause' I found that no.6 exudes grunginess and has the antique but modern feel to it. The colour scheme compliments each other as well.

Wow! I'm a little late into this but Good Work Designers! lots of effort put in, i can see!
Ok...my comments!
Among them, i like no. 1, 3, 6 and 7 a lil more than the rest.
no. 1 has the album feel and i like those stars on the album too...and the lines complement the whole feel. :)
no. 3's cover looks like it's straight out from an mv! and i like the back too...the gramaphone gives it a very antique feel! nice!
no. 6 is soooo diao! I love the black and white feel ~ gives it a very back to the past feel..and it has a very professional touch to it all! I love it!
no. 7's colour combination is terrific too..nice on the eyes. you have used the transparency effect well!
But, all in all, you guys have done really nice covers~ ganbatte-ne!
Thumbs up to all participants!
GREAT JOB!
#3 and 6 caught my attention.
I like 3 cos the piano and the recorder suits the Ye Hui Mei retro theme perfectly.
And 6 cos the Black and White background is so pretty. Along with the Jay picture.. which blends in so well.
I chose #6 in the end cos it stood out most, for me.

great job everyone! nice effort put in!
i vote for #6 because i like the jap feel to it. its unique and neat. it fits the album title 'ye hui mei' too. ye make me think of leaves. the album and jay's name r both strategically placed at the front cover and the song titles at the back cover r also neatly placed. it really looks like a real cd cover with the barcode and stuff at the bottom. very nice cover! i like it!
i also like #1 because i like the big closeup of jay at the front cover and i like it for its simplicity, but upon closer look i realise that it misses one very important thing--the album title! so i choose #6 as my most deserved vote.

All the designers clearly have talent, a big thank you to them for spending so much time to participate!
There were a couple i liked the most, and thats why i kept my vote for so long.
Number 1 and 6, are both stunning...yet one simple and the other intricate. Unfortunately, they do not scream Ye Hui Mei at me like they should..it was after all the brief you were given at the beginning of the contest. They really are amazing pieces, but i dont feel i should be voting for either. #1 would have been perfect for the 8 dimensions album though, and the back cover has many similarities to the actual 8D cover, it was the first thing that came to my mind when i saw it. #6 has a beautiful, oriental feel to it...would have been perfect for Dong Feng Po!
Number 3 and 7, i feel are the ones which fulfil this task the most. Both seem a bit crowded to me, but they certainly fit the European theme of YHM. Between the two, the simplicity of #3's back cover won me over. Jays musical talent and the overall theme of the YHM album is apparent just by looking at the cover.
Well done and a huge thank you to everyone who submitted an entry! :D
