i'm madly deeply in love with edison. i can admit that he isn't the BEST at everything.. esp. his singing, but you have to agree that he has been improving so much! i don't really think that his voice is really horrible, it's just that... i guess he choses the wrong songs to sing? and yah, he's kinda new to the entertainment business and plus he's canadian born, so you can't blame him for not being the best at chinese or being able to write his own songs. he's learning as he goes. there are so many people looking down on him, thinking that he's just in the entertainment business just to mess around, but he wants to prove them wrong. he's been working really hard, and has a very busy schedule this year with all the films he's going to be in. he even said it himself, he wants act in deep/meaningful roles so that he will win awards, and now he has the chance to. i think he is very motivated and is going to go far~~

yup. both are pretty famous at the moment in HK. Saw the Alan Tam n Hacken Lee concert DVD recently and they referred Edison n Shawn as the 5th generation of HK singers to lead the face for the future of HK music. So i guess they are pretty highly rated as these comments came from Alan n Hacken who are both considered to be heavyweights in the HK music industry.

Edison seems to be a pretty jard working artist. Very professional in his approach to his work as well.

So I didn't really give Shawn a chance at all. But after I watched Infernal Affairs, I realized Shawn's performance was better compared to Edison. And then I tried listening to his songs. While he wasn't a great singer, he could definitely sing better than Edison. So I started to like Shawn more. I'm not crazy about him, but I'm not biased anymore. I accept the fact that he's more talented than Edison. And I think he has a more rugged look too, more "man" than Edison.

So now I like both of them in different ways.

You recognize that jaw thing too eh? I notice he moves his neck in a weird way when he looks at something that's to the right or left of him, or he slants it, hard to explain.

Ok first of all, looks wise they tie, i love both of them...but talent wise SHawn is way above it all!!

When Shawn acts, you actually feel the character in him, whilst with edison he's just dorky! Yeah, it's cute i admit, but it gets really repetitive and boring because it seems like he's acting the same role all the time! As for infernal affairs, he plays the bad guy, but i still can't seem to associate with the attitude that he supposably has!! Maybe it's his face, i don't know, he can only ever act as the dorky, some what timid boy next door type. :?

I first saw Shawn in 爱情白皮书 （i think it's called love script or something)! Anyway, he was the BOMB!! ANd he's had such a wide variety of roles, especially in Hidden Track---you are still able to fall in love with him despite his tacky appearance! :wink2: Meaning he was able to let the character's sweet personality shine through!!

But singing wise...i haven't heard alot of either, so can't comment but i do feel edison has a really weak voice which doesn't sound too good in the first place! :wacko:

I think they are just rumours. Reporters were stirring up as much news as they were with double J. He was rumoured to be with like Gig Leung, Gillian (She's HOT!) but, I never heard him dating his agent and stuff.

All I know is despite his pretty-boy looks, he's some what of an ass. After his store opening, he was asked if whether Gillian would get a discount and he said no is a no. He also made some rude comments, maybe it's the way the article was phrased but every article of him had this sort of rough tone so it may not be the reporters?

yeah, it's quite amazing to see that it seems to be "in" in the entertainment biz for younger men to date older women. it's the same thing in the us, i guess. think demi moore and aaron kutcher. or heath ledger... it's rumored that he's dated a younger woman only once. on the other hand, why shouldn't they? i find it even more disgusting to see some teenage girl dating a 60- or 70-year-old guy. (think anna nicole smith who married this 80-year-old millionaire guy a couple of years ago. ugh.)

besides, lots of people in show biz happen to have lots of flings. some of them try to keep it a secret, so you'd probably never guess what kind of person they really are. with some others, it's the other way round. most of them have this "bad boy" or "bad girl" image, and it's necessary for them to put a big front, solely for business reasons.

I've never heard about the rumour about him dating his agent (yet). I always questioned who Edison's gf is too but .. I think it's Bobo Chan since he never really admitted it nor have he denied it. One of the directors had a great impression of him after watching Edison in Initial D. Since he traveled to Japan, Italy, and other countries for Initial D promotions, he became more exposed to those people.

This reminds me of this one movie he guest starred in. O yea, I forgot the name but it was one of Jackie Chan's movies. Him and Nic were waiters who came out just for about one minute. I'm happy for the fact Edison will be the male lead for this movie.

I think there is some ways that he is a playboy but at the same time i could be a rumour from all the fame he has. I mean everytiime people see edison or any star with a different girl there is so much assumptions that are made..but i am not sure what his relationship life is currently but from all the rumours i get myself lost too..lol but from what i am reading i dont think he is dating his agent and really if he is i dont think it is our saying to say who he should and should not date ahah i dont think he is too big of a player? lol

Hong Kong actor Chen filming 'The Grudge' sequel

HONG KONG (AP) - Hong Kong actor-singer Edison Chen on Wednesday confirmed recent reports that he is making his Hollywood debut in the sequel to the horror film "The Grudge,'' also featuring Sarah Michelle Gellar of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer'' fame.

"In the fourth week of filming my first Hollywood movie,'' Chen wrote in a posting on his blog Wednesday.

"I have returned to Tokyo. It is exciting this week. I got some crazy scenes to do in the movie. Yep, I am doing 'The Grudge' part two.''

"I am thinking I got something good here,'' Chen said, noting "The Grudge'' made US$178 million (euro147.05 million) in the U.S. and over US$200 million (euro165.22 million) worldwide.

Chen's film credits include the "Infernal Affairs'' trilogy and "Initial D.''

Forums dedicated to Edison? Yea not that many. Many of the websites made for him are not updated. http://s14.invisionfree.com/ecdc/index.php is one of the few that contains news of only Edison.

Has anyone here met him in real life before? Although I'm not completely his fan it would be nice if I can meet him. One of my friends met him when she was in Hong Kong. She said there was this large group of girls around him. He stood there for 15 minutes talking to them in English and Cantonese. She also said his eyes have a nice lighter brownish color.

And older women dating much younger men is becoming more and more popular. As a matter of fact, there are women who specifically date younger men at least 10 years their junior, and they're called Cougars. They had a whole TV program about it :)
