Hello my fellow European Jay fans
I asked you all to gather here today to make mine, and possible your dream come true.
How many of you wish to see Jay but can't cause you don't have the cash to go abroad to see him?How many of you wish he would come to Europe to perform for us Jay fans here?
I know I am one who wishes to see him and I know JenEm is another fan.We have been talking in another thread about this and I have done various things in order for Jay to come.I have e-mailed JVR Music,Pepsi, English show that helps with concerts and stuff and I've just recently e-mailed a English radio station that plays Chinese music from time to time [Thanks to julie_chou for the website and this marvilious idea of gathering us all here.]
I'm thinking once we have all gathered I would have a rough figure in my head I could let JVR Music know just how many people would come to see Jay.
So please jump abroad this mission to get Jay here to Europe!
Whos with me?!

YES! YES! DEFINITELY ME!! O gosh.. u don't know how badly I wanted to go to these concerts.. but couldn't.. not only because of the price but because of school and my mum wouldn't let me have days off school!

I've heard that he came to London once to film parts of his Twilight's Chapter Seven mv.. GUTTING!

ANYWAY.. YEH.. so I'm in with this plan and make sure he comes to ENGLAND.. specifically LONDON! LOL! more convenient you see!

I'm glad to see some responses!
I'll add you guys to the list...Ok what you must do is basically try find/ask places to see if they can help/sponser Jay to come here. Also you have to be dedicated 100% for this to happen,I've already started e-mailing places like I have said in the first post.I'm so glad you guys are willing to help :-)
I've been dreaming about this all night last night!I really hope this works!

hk-kc-jc: I agree with you London is more convenient for me too,I'm not allowed to travel too far.

I have an idea.. maybe we could contact the millenium dome people or otherwise known as the O2 arena now and ask if jay can go there to perform if he can..

recently there have been lots of concerts and performances going on there.. e.g. the spice girls and coming up is rihanna, etc.

edit: btw.. from reading ur first post where it talks about how many people will go if jay does actually come here.. my sister will probably come and she knows a few people who might come too.. hope this "ups" the chance of jay coming here cos there are a few people interested already!

... COME ON EUROPEAN JCNETTERS! COME AND JOIN US TO GET JAY TO COME TO EUROPE!

hk-kc-jc: Is there another name I can call you by?
Thats a great idea!If you would be kind enough if you have time going to the O2 Arena and asking them questions and stuff about Jay coming for me please? If not I will check online for a contact address or something. Also if you go ask them what it is we have to do to bring Jay here, like sponsers and stuff?Explain to them what we have and what we are trying to do [get all European Jay fans to participate]

BTW if you do get in contact with a company or something please let us JCNETTERS know so we don't do the same thing..E.G. I've told you that I've e-mailed Pepsi,JVR Music,Blue Peter and ICRT Radio station, thanks.

Hey, just some info:

O2 arena holds more than 20,000 people.
Tickets for the concerts have been GBP50 plus at the very least, up to GBP200 sometimes.
Apart from the sponsors, you'll have to devise how to advertise a concert to make sure people go, and be prepared to pay high prices.

I'm not trying to be pessimistic, but it's kind of hard, maybe near impossible, to organise this on a basis of a few people right? Unless you have strong links with the entertainment industry (here and Taiwan), get a few good deals, and be able to offer Jay's company a whole load of benefit to come here, right?

^ I never thought of that Dana, but I have hope. That venue is kinda pricey though...Maybe I can e-mail them and see if they'd help get him here and to perform at a different venue?...I'm sure there are a lot of Jay fans here that don't go to this forum,PLUS this isn't for only us Londoners its for the whole of Europe so I'm sure we can gather a lot of people eh? :wink2:

EDIT: I just e-mailed the o2 Arena.Hopefully I'll get some feed back soon.Fingers crossed.

Yup hopefully, but I don't think O2 will think they'll benefit from bringing Jay there, again for one night only or something. Two nights will be 40,000 etc so even with the whole of europe, you're gonna have to think of marketing again.

I don't really want it to be held at the o2 Arena, its just a outline?[is that the right word to use?] I'd like it to be in a much smaller place like London Astoria or something...I am thinking about the marketing as well, well I need some guidance in that but whatever they tell me to do [if they e-mail me back] I shall do it.I believe that us European Jay fans should get to see him too don't you think?

What's the audience capacity for London Astoria?
Places like the G-A-Y bar & club would be great if you're thinking on that scale.

It's not that I don't think European Jay fans should not get to see him, but if you're managing this with only a few people, it's quite hard on you guys.

hello YeQu and others here!!!!
I think we have to found a producer here in Europe, whatever the country, and we have to show lot of people wait Jay Chou here (showing the importance of asian community here, success of asian culture (manga etc))
I follow since january the process and the sucess of the coming of L'Arc en Ciel famous japanese pop/rock band in Paris for one concert, only one date in Europe... I don't know exactly how one persone could do that this band perform here in France but I will ask him to know the processing from A to Z

sorry my english isn't really good, I don't practice since woooowww ^^; really sorry

Its going to be hard I think ot convince the right powers to bring him here but never say never!!! I for one would bre there come nothing would stop me!!! london is a great place I think to hold it!

You might be able to get a new small promotion company on board that would be a good idea!!

Hey Beth, nice of you to drop by...

Though no one has posted here for sometime this idea is still open...julie_chou another JCNETTER sent my letter off to JVR music again and also I think she sent it to Vicent Fang's blog [not sure] but I haven't heard any news of it as of yet.

If you have any ideas do share,I'm open to whatever.Even though I will be moving soon I will back this idea 100% cause I know how much people in Europe want to see Jay Chou,I for one is DYING to see him live!Even if its ONE DAY I'd do everything in my power...

So yeah any suggestions do let me know :wink2: Oh and if you decide to send any e-mails/letter or talk to anyone do let us know like I have been doing ever since I opened this thread :D Cheers!

Wow that is odd lol!! Hold on I will copy what I wrote over to here

Breakthrough asia concert ......My dream!!!
Current mood: complacent

As you know I am huge Asian music fan and I have a dream to see Asian music breakthrough here. So what if they sing in different langugaes its about the music!!.Also music is a wonderful medium to help bring different countries and cultures together and promote understanding and harmony. I would love to put together a huge open air concert here (Think Radio1 roadshow style) The only differance is the artists and groups would all be from Asia. I would love to bring together some of Asia's greatest stars and show England just how good they are. Leehom, Jay Chou, Gackt, DBSK, Nicholas Tse, F.I.R, 12 Girls Band and so the list goes on. So many amazing artists the whole world should know about (and the chance for the large army of fans here already to see thier idols perform) You always hear about English speaking artists in every country imaganiable so why cant it be the other way round!! or are we that narrow minded in England now that we cant open our minds to anything we dont understand? If you dont know theses artists please go and check out some of thier music you wont be dissapointed!!
So yes there you go my dream ..The breakthrough Asia concert!! What do you think guys?

YeQu
05-12-2008, 08:28 PM
I like your blog Beth, and you are right. Why can't England be more open minded to asian music?

You know a friend of mine is now a Jay fan because of me.I only sent him 2 songs and within 24 hours he had downloaded every album by him...I think if people here opened their minds and ears to asian music they might be surprised and actually LIKE it!

That is another thing I would like to do,not only bring Jay here but other artisits too,but Jay was my main focus cause he is my only idol.

I have posted some questions on various Q&A websites about how to go about making this concert happen. Now I have found some like minded fans here and elsewhere I really feel very positive that breakthrough Asia could happen. I even posed the idea to a certain someone who I hope would come and perform and they to my surprize replyed saying they believed it was a good idea and could most defaintly happen!!

Dont worry I have been hanging around the music scence for a very long time and I know that this the almost impossible dream.... note almost impossible. i do not beleve anything is impossible you can achive your dreams if you just work hard enough.
I am not kidding myself ,we would be lucky to see this go down in the next couple of years and the chance are our idea will be stolen by some company we appraoch or something lol!!

However everything great event or achivement made by man has started with one little person sitting somewhere going you know what thats a really good idea!!

look at what the world would be like if the guys who thought a flying machine for man would be a good idea had given up!!!!

lol true true,I'm not trying to squash your dream cause it's also my dream to see Asia break through Europe, especially England,London..

I tried getting an English person into Jay,and he didn't like his music...I see what you mean by narrow-minded people...The person I tried was someone who ONLY listens to MEtal music..Maybe I tried making the wrong kinda of person like Jay but still....

United Kingdom
England British Chinese 500,000 (2008)
347,000 (2005)[19] 0.8%
0.7% 1.3%
0.8%

It could be way cool if Jay were to perform in Europe, but I just don't think he has established enough of a fanbase outside of Europe to do that regardless of what the demographics are. Are there any other known Chinese/Asian artists who has performed outside of Asia and occassionarily America?

There are main that I know of,mainly Japanese though Last band that I heard that went to the U.K. was a rock band I forgot the name when it comes to me I will edit my post and put it in.It would seriously be nice for Jay to go to Europe especially London...I would get a plane ticket back just to see him!
