JCNET IRC Chat is back! Remember those days when we didn't want to go to school or work because we wanted to stay online and chat? Yeah, well it's back. :roll:

Here's the information if you want to log on from your own client:

Channel: #JCNET
Server: irc.aniverse.com

It was on Rizon before but I forgot what server and I already registered it on Aniverse so just bear with it, there's no difference.

Our fearless leader, jayx8318x, is still working on integrating the chat with the forums so until then you can always download programs like mIRC or SysReset to log on and chat. So come join us!

i think you can download java just about anywhere.

just search for java in google, and then make sure it's from a place that's not going to give you spyware or a virus.

Why isn't there seem to be anybody inside the IRC chat. LOLs. I went in and there was only me and someone else? LOLs. I don't know how the previous one worked. LOLs. It hasn't been really implemented right? LOLs. I mean, the thing has not spread to everyone.

by implementation, i think it means that the chat thing will be available in this browser without having to go to that link on the first page.

like before, it was on the very bottom of the jcnet page. and then you just clicked onto it, and it would take you there, in that page without opening a new one.

so right now, it's just essentially...still on jcnet , but opened in a new browser.

and no one is inside, probably because of

1. time difference , people may be asleep

2. people may be at school ?

3. people might not know about it, or cant b bothered going on...

Is IRC Chat working lately? I just installed mIRC and when I join the channel, there's no one, not even bot. And it says the channel has not been registered with Op something. Any update on this? :D

quickie...how come i can't access chat straight from jcnet even though i've got the client and everything? =\

every time i try it says 'errorneous nickname'...and when i try to change my nickname it says 'please register'

Hmm..I am not too knowledgable about irc, but maybe irc in general doesn't accept nicknames with certain punctuation marks in them.
you can easily change your nick to something else though, and when it prompts you to register, just type

/msg nickserv register [password] [e-mail]

Pearlie, it's because you have a "*" in your username, the irc won't allow nicks with special characters in it. It won't even allow periods (.) :oops: I think you're better off downloading mIRC :happy:

Chat is most likely dead because the current activity levels at jcnet are quite low.

Plus not many people go in it because we all use other sources of IM to communicate with each other.

But if you have any ideas on how you want to revive it, go ahead and tell us ^^
