表揚華語歌曲為主的2003年TVB8金曲榜頒獎典禮，前晚在無線電視城舉行。去年贏得最佳演唱團體金獎的 S.H.E，今年又蟬聯，來港領獎的Selina和Hebe雀躍萬分，她們希望明年三連冠，屆時腰傷痊癒的 Ella可以一起分享榮譽。而首次在港拿獎的五月天，這一年僅推出電影迷你專輯便獲得最佳樂隊金獎，5名成 員都很興奮。
2003 TVB8 Award was held at TV town or sumthing few days ago. Last year's the best group award was won by SHE, they took down the title again this year. Selina and Hebe was really hoping, hoping they would win it nxt year too. When the wounded Ella could come and enjoy the honour.
Mayday won the best band award, the 5 members all very happy
無線電視台不久前宣布，歌手若不出席勁歌金曲季選或音樂頒獎禮，就沒獎拿。可能是這個緣故，前晚出席的歌手 統統有獎，不過他們都表示，頒獎禮前並不知自己會拿獎或拿什麼獎。而得獎名單也就比較令人意外，入圍多項的 周杰倫、陶喆、孫燕姿、王菲、張惠妹、蔡依林、陳慧琳和那英等均落敗。
TVB8 recently announced that if singers do not attend the ceremony then they would not receive a award. It's probably because of this, the singers who attended the day before yesterday's ceremony all got an award. But they said that they didnt knwo what award they were going to get b4... The awarded artists was all out of everyone's surprise. Artisits like Jay, David, Yanzi, Faye, Amei, Jolin, Kelly and Na ying all didnt receive any award.

SHE won the 'golden melody' award that night with their song 'Superstar'. After winning, they said there was no rehersal and everything felt very natural. The night's event was telecast in mainland China and some chinese populated areas. Hebe and Selina told their concerned fans that Ella is well on recovery and the three of them will come to HK to thank the fans for their support during the promotion of their next album in Feburary. As Mayday recieved their award, they took the opportunity to remind everyone of their concert in HK on the 14th; they also promised that if they get the best composition award they will run naked again. The other Taiwanese artistes who got an award include Evonne Hsu, Lin Zi Liang.
朱茵以「舉手不回」奪得金曲獎後笑著說，證明沒有後台也拿到獎。這項頒獎禮的金曲金獎由主唱「揮著翅膀的女 孩」的容祖兒奪得，而大陸最受歡迎男女歌手是任賢齊和梁詠琪，金曲榜最受歡迎男女歌手則是今年只有一首國語 歌「月老」的劉德華和莫文蔚。
Athena Chu won an award with 'Ju shou bu hui'; she laughed saying that without backup, one can also win. Joey rong too the best lead singer with 'Hui zhe chi pang de nu hai' , while Richie Ren and Gigi Leung got the most popular male/female singer in mainland china. Most popular male and female singer went to Andy Lau (who had only one song chinese song 'yue lao' this year) and Karen Mok respectively.
I reckon it's so sad that artists dont attend gets no award! I mean they should do some self talk... Ask themselves why artists dont wanna attend! Coz the award is stupid and meaningless?!?
