I won't always be typing out romaji and English translations -- but for the first post, I used all three. This thread is mostly to allow Japanese language students to practice using Japanese with one another. Ideally, you should be typing in Japanese, but if your Japanese ability is not good enough yet, romaji should be acceptable as well. (Unfortunately, some people might not want to respond in romaji and choose to type in Japanese instead.)

My Japanese is hardly perfect or that good -- rudimentary at best, but I want to practice.

Practice makes better, after all!

Tip: When typing in Japanese, you might want to make the font size 2.

GAAHHH how do people pick up a new language at such a late age. Man it's like asking me to learn alien stuff :oops:

tadashii no wa atama ga itai da. :D

^ Mmm... "sanshuukan gurai" is better than "sanshuu dake". Though I think "sanshuukan dake" is also okay, but you need to have "kan" on there otherwise you won't be denoting a time frame.

Hi guys, can I join this thread? I learned Japanese when I was in my last year of highschool for a year, but now my Japanese is a mess. I can't hardly remember the vocabulary T_T.. it's a JLPT Japanese Language Profiency Test. Kinda like TOEFL for english.

They have for level. 4th to 1st.
The 1st is the hardest one. :D

I think I've heard my sensei mentioning it once..but at that time we're just beginners so she didn't say much about it.. And now after years my Japanese is way much worse than my Chinese, it's probably because I rarely hear and read Japanese, and watch n hear too much Chinese from songs and dramas hehe:tongue:.. so if I tried to speak in japanese, it'll turn out like this..すごいね　ゆきこちゃん　现在我会努力的 がんばりましょ！(mixing up Japanese and Chinese because I can't remember how to say it in Japanese:shy:) Let' learn Japanese together ^_^:-):wave:

I would say that if you need to have a official certificate　(for work-wise), then JLPT (which the exam is tomorrow and I am freaking out...) is THE examination to go for. However if not, you can learn more informal and everyday Japanese from the comics (漫画まんが) or Japanese dramas. At least my friend learns it through translating and fan-subbing and he is like.. working in Japan now. :bleh:
