Gwyneth Paltrow and boyfriend Chris Martin are expecting their first child next summer, her publicist said Wednesday.

The couple were "pleased" to confirm the pregnancy, publicist Stephen Huvane said in a statement. He declined to say whether there were wedding plans.

The 31-year-old actress has been dating Martin, frontman for the British band Coldplay, for the past year. Both have been reticent about publicly discussing their relationship.

In a recent interview with the British Broadcasting Corp., Paltrow said she hopes to marry but wouldn't reveal whether that aspiration extended to the 26-year-old Martin.

Paltrow won a best-actress Oscar in 1999 for "Shakespeare in Love." She stars as poet Sylvia Plath in the new film "Sylvia."

sorry to say this (don't bash me for saying this, alright?), but i don't like gwyneth paltrow too much. i think one of the main reasons why she's had so many relationships with celebs is because she needed the press. besides, it's kinda odd, but i've never liked a single movie of hers. :wacko: i wish them good luck however.

Okay, no offense, but there's something wrong with the title of this topic. Hehe... "Gwyneth Paltrow is Pregnant with Coldplay's Chris Martin" means Gwyneth and Coldplay are having a baby and he's name Chris Martin. :rolleyes: It should have read: "Gwyneth Paltrow is Pregnant with Coldplay's Chris Martin's baby" or "Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay's Chris Martin are pregnant" :rolleyes:

Actually in "When I Fall In Love... With Both," Michelle Reis wore a wedding dress when she was about 7-8 mths pregnant and she was still gorgeous. :happy: But of course, she even looked pretty good completely bald in "Healing Hearts" and partially bald (with bald spots) in "The Irresistible Piggies!"

i wonder how long this marriage will last cos it was not long since they started seeing?! in the past, newspapers wrote about Gwyneth's relationships and how they didnt last long and i hope this will last a long time cos they make a fab couple i think
