Question: Jay Chou's hair? [edit: is his hair fake?]

Hi, I haven't been here in so long, but I have a question. Somewhere i heard that Jay's hair is fake. Is this true or just a far off rumor? lol

in his 'imcomparable' concert, i would say that he has fake parts on the back of his head...or somewhere round there. the white bits, i think..

otherwise, the rest of it is as real as real hair!

it's usually the strangely longer bits of his hair which are fake, he would use coloured hair extensions. except his fringe is probably all real. haha hope this helps

Yup,some of Jay's har as what we saw sometimes during concerts,he used to have some 'pin-up' hair to look unsual when he perform.I wonder how they pinned up that so well and of course very obvious and cool as well!!

Example:1)Incomparable Concert in 2004-the white thing,looks like a string or rope,which were tied behind his hair,well not the fringes one of course,that's real,which was being dyed white a bit!!!

2)Luan Wu Chun Chiu,one of his MV from fifth album,the pig tail hair of his was been pinned too.

3)Huo Yuan Chia MV of Jay,the pig tail hair again.

4)The concert from Japan,POPJAM,the hair looked kinda thick....very obvious to see that,that was pinned up as well.

5)November's Chopin-that wig(check around the cover and the lyrics booklet)

Ok that's all from what i observed everytime,when watching some video clips of Jay.Erm...i think these are the the examples which i can name now,couldnt think anymore.Hopes that helps,=D!!

From what I know... In the recent 26th HK film awards he wore a wig. I don't know, my mother told me that. Apparently the local entertainment news reported it.. Maybe it is bcos his hair was short then?

Yep, agreed with ziai... he did wear a wig in the 26th HK film awards. That's coz he has this kind of hereditary problem where he seems to be losing quite amount of hair... it's from his dad from what I remembered (it's been discussed here in this forum, but don't remember thread title... sorry). Jay said it himself...

Yeah but normally his hair's real... Maybe when there's occasions that needs him to look more diao than usual (photoshoots etc), then he'll have to wear the wig lolz...

Yep, totally. That's basically what i've read / heard before. He did wear a wig coz his hair's become thinner I suppose. Actually when you look closely at the pics, you'll see that his fringe is quite unusually thick... That's what makes me believe that he's really wearing a wig... Plus the interview that he said himself that he did wear it makes be totally believe the wig thingy lolz...

from what I read in one magazine, only the top part of it is a wig. and apparently his hair thinned out over the years(partially b/c of heavy hair product use?). They showed some pics back from 2001 when it was really thick and compared it to some recenter ones where his fringe is all thinned out

I had my private violin class in my room today, and my teacher, who happens to be a 20-some year old asian woman, noticed all the posters I have of Jay. :bleh: So I guess we struck up a conversation about him, obviously neglecting my violin time for a while there :-), and she eventually told me that Jay Chou actually has very, very little hair.

I've heard this before many times, but I don't know whether this is a rumor or not. My teacher included that his bangs are fake and are only extensions, that he has only a bit of hair on top :wacko:

No obviously it's not fake. I think maybe the fringe up hairstyle recently he has is to prove that the size of his forehead is normal and not big (big forehead means hair loss at the fringe part) And to show that his hair at the front is clearly attached at the front . And I think this has been posted before? O.o

I think people have been speculating since last year. I'm not sure, but I'm inclined to think that his hair is real. (I hope it is, haha.)

He wore a wig in "Kung Fu Dunk" and he's worn hair extensions a lot, too, like in the concerts. His hair looks kind of thin in the MV for "Dong Feng Po," so it's quite possible that he wears some fake hair pretty often.

That would be what I read too, from some news site

Apparently, the news site report that Jay Chou has been losing hair way back then and is currently using hair extension for his fringe to cover up all the "holes" that expose his forehead.


That is what I read. I'm clearly hope it isn't true.
