Why did you join/apply to the usergroup you did?

Just curious, why did you join or apply to a certain usergroup over another? (I'm talking about these groups here (http://www.jay-chou.net/forums/groupcp.php))

1. Was it because you got to know the group leader and or members of that group, and developed some friendship with them?

2. Was it because the description of the group sounded good to you, and matched your personality or your feelings toward Jay?

3. Did you just randomly pick one, for whatever reasons we shall not bring up *COUGHdownloadCOUGHleech*

4. Did you not only randomly pick one, you randomly picked more than 1 (against application rules and will cause you to wait even longer, or worst case, be denied from them all)

5. Someone you know, or a friend/relative was already in the group so you joined as well

Well i picked other since, when i was choosing groups, i was either going to pick SA or Cici's. I felt kinda depressed so i felt like joining SA, but also perfectness seemed like something that described me and what i was striving for. I asked for a sign, and all the sudden Perfectionism was playing. I took that as a sign and went with it. True story, very freaky ain't it.

Cloudsurfer's description fits me!! I am totally a Jay dreamer and very imaginative...and I like surfing net a lot..

I chose Silence Alliance because of how Jojie Wang described the group (the old one, back in March) - something about dark, gloomy rainy days and I instantly knew that was what I wanted.

Same as Ashley, SA sounded great for weird demented people like us, so naturally, I was attracted to it and joined :) And also, at that time, the usergroups system was sort of on trial, and there was doubt of whether they would work. I was going to join a group with no members yet to even the membership numbers out and Jo's group was one of them, and it was also the one which I liked best :happy:

When I was a newbie, my eyes was actually lying on the Cloudsurfer (because of the description), but as I posted and posted I remembered lepencil got in the thread where I posted and he kinda backed me up there. (I'm not sure if he remembered this), so then my eyes started to switch to his group.

And after I read the desription, I realized that KANR seems like a girls paradise where all the girls can do the girly-type chit chat. Ans as far as I know, girls can bond very well with each other because they tend to talk more and tend to be more sensitive toward each other..., so I was real interested with it. Especially after seeing some names of the members that I can recall of being very nice, friendly, and easygoing.

Plus, since lepencil seems like a very smart, helpful, funny, and informative mod, I thought it would be cool if he was my leader of the group and get a chance to know him better and have him guide me in the forum. So... I decided to apply to KANR. And I never regretted it EVER. I love MY GROUP and its members so much.

And when i was a newbie..(just two months ago) actually, i was targeting for Silence Alliance but then Cloudy helped me with the double posts thing and she is really friendly...(umm but everyone is friendly here..lol)..Maybe i was just destined to be in CS....

Oh and i really like the name "Clouds Surfer" it sounds so full of freedom or something like that....

I joined lepencil's KANR because of the group leader and the nice members. Everytime, when I saw someone from KANR post, I was like OMG, a KANR!!! :D I found them all very friendly and nice. The name also got me attracted to join the group.

But I have to admit that I wan't sure about it whether I should join SA or CS or KANR. :oops: I think every group has their own special things, which you can't compare with others.

But I joined KANR, and I never regretted! :happy:

When I was then an observer and reading posts, I happen to be very much interested with what SA members have to say. And then, I went to the SA site and loved the layout. :D hehe. That motivated to choose SA as my family in this community.

i picked #1. when i was a newbie, i remember maggs posting after something i wrote and she just sounded so nice. :D and then i made posts in the canadian thread and got to know shouling, who is just so friendly. she just stood out to me at that time and i felt so welcomed. :happy: i read through the descriptions to try to decide which group to apply to. it was hard cuz i didn't know each leader well and the descriptions seemed a bit vague to me. i found that for some of them, it only matched me for about half of the description but not all. so, with all these factors in mind, in the end i selected diao krew. it just sounded like it'd be a really cool group to be a part of, and the fact that two of the sweetest members i know from the start when i first joined the forum just cemented my decision to apply to DK. and i have absolutely no regrets. i love all my fellow DK members. we've grown so close that i really treasure that thread. :) to my fellow diao krewers... :hugz: and :kisschee: for y'all! =D

I picked #1...when i decided to join a usergroup, i had 2 or 3 in mind. I was attracted by their descriptions. All seemed to be right for me in some way or other. But i really couldnt choose, i liked the sound of Cloud's Surfers but Silence seemed good for me. The KANR sounded fun hehe, plus i had talked to aDrena...then there was WMZY, and i had talked to nunchakus earlier... :oops: ..so i really could not decide.

But then i met cloudy in the chat room and she made me feel very welcome, and when i asked her for advice, she told me to pick the group which i felt would fit me better...so i picked hers! She seemed like a nice groupleader, and i was still very much intimidated by many of the mods. Now i know you're all great hehe, but at the time, it was what made me sway towards the Surfers.

I dont regret it one bit hehe...i love my group leader and my fellow surfers.. :hugz:

I totally agree with you Jerria! I just love that slogan! :love: The slogan made me feel calm and relaxed!And the description of "Cloud Surfer" was true.. At school or in the car I always daydream about Jay! And every morning I always log on to Jay-chou.net! :laughing:
Cloudsurfer and everybody in that group are extremely nice and friendly! :) That is why I choose this group and I am glad I did!

Anyways... the closest answer for me would be option 2. I actually never interacted with Magg before I joined DK. I read the descriptions for all usergroups and found out that the one for DK seemed to match my personality most, so I picked DK. It was a little bit of option 3 as well since at that time I wasn't really sure if the descriptions would be accurate. So I was like, well, DK sounds cool and I think the descriptions are cool too! So here I am! :happy: Best choice I ever made. :wink2:

Yikes!!!! I decided there was a grave need for another LQP voice in here...!!! So I'm typing this even tho i'm supposed to be in class REAL SOON!!!!

Well I picked "other" coz it was somewhat of a combination of all the reasons....All the groups sounded pretty intriguing when I read the descriptions...don't remember details but here's a gist of what ran through my (a newbie!!) head as I was applying (about month and a half ago?):

Ke Ai Nu Ren sounded really fun, but a tad too cutesy for me, and HAHA that was when I didn't even know that Lepencil was guy. Then it sounded like his personal harem :bleh: (kidding!)

WMZY scared me off a little, coz perfectionist I'm not. :glug:

Diao Krew and SA both sounded cool, but I didn't feel like that was what I was looking for.

I was initially gonna apply for Cloudsurfers, coz I really liked the description...

BUT i ended up switching to LQP coz Chun Li really cracked me up!!!! I guess I didn't really notice the postings of the other group leaders [except for Lepencil who was always yelling at people (or so i thought then) NOOBS. and that made me nervous about doing something wrong]

Plus, "he he ha hee" was my fav "funny-line-that-i-use-to-describe-anything-and-everything" Like "that show was really he-he-ha-hee" meant the show kicked ass etc.
I also liked the idea of having a small group....so LQP it was!!!! YEAH!!!! :laughing:

I met up with ColaPop from some small talk thread and she recommanded me to go to LQP. I applied for it.
