The JCNet mentors celebrate our first theme week with the help of Doraemon & his futuristic gadgets. Our aim on JCNet is to help guide new members and combat noobs. Next month, Doraemon will kindly supply us with the gadgets we need to tackle our foe. Each mentor has pre-selected a weapon... *cough* gadget, and all will be revealed in the following month...

But why should we be the only ones to have fun? :wink2:

On the 1st of May, we invite you to participate in the theme week with us.
To thank Doraemon for lending his gadgets to us...your brief,
should you choose to accept is to find a new best buddy for Doraemon

Brief: Create a banner/avatar set of a character, person or perhaps even an animal (remember, no mice!) that you think could become best friends with Doraemon.
Include a written reason either on the banner itself, or in the signature.

Prizes: 1st prize will be awarded 3 rep points.
2nd prize will be awarded 20 plaza points.
3rd prize will be awarded 10 plaza points.

The entries will be voted upon by the mentors.
The winners will be announced in this thread on the 10th May (end of theme week).

Participants following the conditions below will automatically be awarded 5 plaza points

- Post your banner/avatar in this thread from the 1st May.
- Entries accepted before (and including) the 5th May will be eligible for plaza points and a chance at the prizes.
- Participants posting after this date will merely do so for the love of the game

He doesn't?? Wow... that's an unusual bit of trivial knowledge. I know his birthday is the 3rd September (same as my brother), and here's the info on why Doraemon dislikes mice:
The reason Doraemon is blue, according to the most recent accounts, is that a robot mouse bit off his ears, and he was so rattled by his girlfriend's ensuing laughter that he turned a little turquoise.

To answer ColaPop's question.I chose the kitty to be his best friend because I think even Doraemon needs female company from time to time.

However,the most loving relationships come from friendship first.Though he's a robot,it'll be diao to have a bunch of little Doraemons running around lol!

My doraemon's gadget is Honyaku Konnyaku(Translation konjac) which is cooked by Pucca ^^ It's now Translation Jjajangmyun(Chinese noodle Korean style), her favorite dish lol right after she ate, she will be able to understand and speak any language in the universe which including newbies language :rolleyes:

yeah it's sad that we had so little participation ><

I'd just like to add this for future theme weeks (either for a mentors theme week, or another social groups), don't be discouraged to not participate because you don't have photoshop.
You can do it with the basics:
- MS paint (use the zoom-in function for detailed editing)
- google search (images)
- a plain background colour to write your text on.

That's how I do a lot of my sets... it may not look professional, but I get to join in the fun.
MS paint is really easy to use so don't be afraid to give it a go :happy:

Well I just wanted to say thanks for putting me in second place even though my banners weren't that good.I would've probably lost if there was a third person lol.So thanks to everyone who was involved in the judgement.
