first, I'll give you words that will be very useful if you want to visit Bali
that very common to use if you want to speak to with Balinese people even it's younger, same or older than your age.
(coz we usually use different sentences if we want to talk with friends, people that older from us and sentences that we usually use to express our anger).
Father = aji / bapa
Mother = meme
Sister (elder) = mbok
brother (elder) = bli
nenek = odah / kumpi / nini
grandfather = kakyang
I / me = tityang / tyang
Flower = sekar
Water = yeh
Hair = bok
Chicken = siap
Beautiful = jegeg

Hey,Gelloy,that's very nice of you to contribute a Balinese language thread.However,I was trying to pronounce some of those phrases & it was kind of difficult.

I'm trying to learn the basics of multiple languages.Because I know for a fact that it maybe useful oneday.But do you think you can add romanizations so myself & other people can pronounce the words better?

I don't want to visit Bali oneday & sound foreign when I'm actually trying to speak Balinese lol.

For instance,like with water = yeh (is it also pronounced as yeah)

Also for I'm fine = titang becik-becik manten

( is the beginning ti like tie or tea)

(and is becik like bee-sick or beh-kick)

I pretty much know what manten is going to sound like,but hopefully you can add the romanizations so we can pronounce it better.Thank you!^^:bleh:

geez..balinese language.. Bali is part of indonesia, i'm indonesian but i don't know a thing about balinese language.

I only know "Bli" (brother), since they use that word in advertisement.

But Bali people understand Bahasa Indonesia, right?

do they understand if i say "air"(water) instead of "yeh" ?

I don't think so..
Balinese is a sub-language, used only by people who lives in Bali, so i think people who knows that language is very limited.
