Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2007
After all these years they are back! And they kick ass!
I think almost everybody in this forum has grown with the turtles in one way or another. They are iconic characters from the past that still dwell in the present but not as some Marvel heroes that repeat themself. The ninjas always have this fresh new and cool look! I was like "whooa this gona rock!!" then i saw that its gona be a CGI movie. I was very very dissapointed. I mean cmon so many years since the last TMNT movie and now you give al the fans around the world just some CGI. Back at that time i was very sad about it. But few months ago the pics started to show. A movie trailer was shown to us. And i started to think "hey...you know maybe it wont be so bad after all". And last night i finaly had the chance to watch one of the most awaited movies for this year. TMNT 2007

Story/Plot Now i was wondering for a while what would the new TMNT movie present to us. I expected some of the old adventures but just in CGI. Well i was wrong. The creators have developed a new pretty good storyline to fallow (but not original). We have new archvillain and new enemies. Witch gives a fresh look to the movie. But of course we gona see the very good known to all of you Foot Ninja Clan. I mean cmon there`s nothing more fun that watching the turtles busting their black ninja asses around ^^
The story is set 2 years (if im not wrong) after the death of the Shredder. Leonardo has left New York to improve his skills so he can come back to lead the team. But while he is gone his brothers suffer greatly. Mike is workin as clown for kid parties, Don is a PC technician and Raf is spreadin justice at night as some masked vigilante. I really enjoed the begining it showed us whats the current state with our turtles and didnt fill our heads with useless crap.
The new archvillain is a 300 years old immortal warrior who tryed to conquare the world and now the time has come for him to awaken his cursed generals and take whats his birthright. And of course our green friends are here to stop the bad guys.
One think i didnt like was that there wasnt enought character development in the movie. and while Leonardo and Raffael get a whole story around them Don and Mike are somekind of left behind. So if you expect to see Mikey busting heads and talkin funny lines or Don makin cool gadgets. . . i have to dissapoint you thats not going to happen :(
So overral:
The story is fast paced it doesnt bore you with endless talkin scenes nor with tons of action. Everything is very well timed and when the movie ends you will be like "lol over already?". At the final i was dissapointed a lil bit. Even that it was a great movie it felt somehow short. And i think everygood movie should acomplish that feeling. Cuz 1 hour and 23 mins is not short at all. But the well paced action and the good story puts you so into it that you forget about time and everything else.
Story/plot rating: 4.5/5
Voice:
there isnt much that can be said here. Everybody did a great job as the voice`s of their chars. Besides Splinter. . . now i dont know why but when i heard him talkin i was . . . thats not splinter -_-` i dont think they picked the right actor for the job. And its sad cuz the voice actor of splinter (Mako) died 1 day after the announcement of his role. So if anyone hears changes in Splinter`s voice. Thats the reason.
Voice rating: 5/5
Cinematography/Action: Now this is probably my favorite part. the CGI of this movie was AMAZING. but well every big Holywood movie lately has great CGI effects in it. The technology has grown so much! Now usualy at CGI movies the movements at the chars look somehow clumsy and slow, but in TMNT 2007 you can feel the speed. The agility of the tutrtles. Movie witch such good movement sense was Final Fantasy Advent Children. I mean most directors use lots of cuts to make that illusion for speed. But in TMNT we can see lots of scenes where they took long shots with no cuts where the ninjas are running around the rooftops or are fighting. It really looks great. I admire the work of the creators. They did amazing job. You can really enjoy what the turtles do and say "whoa check this out/wow that was nice/".
The fighting scenes were great too. nice choreography and the speed sense is amazing. You really can feel the ninja spirit. its like FUP FUP. in a blink of an eye and the whole scene is changed. It was very nice to watch the foot clan perform their stuff. Watching all those black geared cyberlook like ninjas run around made me wanna jump few times too.
So overral : 5/5 i really cant want more than what i saw.
Music: Now the OST of the movie was something i cant really tell you about. It
just blended so well. Didnt bug me even once but i didnt heard something so good that could rock me on the chair. Only 1 song was noted by my ears i dont know the name but it was very familiar to me and maybe thats why i reacted to her.
So overall for music 3.5/5
Dialogue: short review of the dialogue. It was dissapointment not to develop Mikey`s character more. I expected many many cool lines from him and it wass so sad they didnt give him anything special. You are not going to hear not a single cult lines in the movie like "GIVE THEM NOTHING. .. TAKE EVERYTHING and MADDNESS? THIS IS SPARTA!!" from the already well known movie 300! But at least you wont hear anything crappy! But it really makes me sad that Mikey didnt got a cool line :(
Overall for the whole movie:
One of the MUST SEE movies of this year that has fulfilled all stuff that were expected from it! All Turtle fans around the world will be pleased with the results and even the new audience will enjoy it greatly. One of the best animations ever made that i think will be remembered for a long time!
