He composed hits such as "Wo Nan Guo"/5566, "Chuan Shuo"/5566, "Ji Shi Ben"/Kelly Chen and more....
His Newest album is called Dubbing Previous one is Transfer
I love his songs especially Huang Hun...

So... such a talented guy, how can anyone not take notice of him?? :happy:

yeah, i love his music, he's really great. :happy: it's a shame that nowadays most ppl seem to ignore all non-idol type artists. :dry: he certainly is one of the more talented guys in chinese music biz. he also wrote the main theme for "lavender" (or "xun yi cao"), a really popular taiwanese drama series. he recorded a new version for his new album btw.

i like his songs too! I have to agree that he is one very talented guy. The number of successful songs he had written is realli alot(just like jay~=) )
Anyway, i think he 'fame luck' has risen tremendously. And i think partly is thanks to his disciples 5566. He came to Singapore recently and create a little stir. And his 'Dubbing' album aso sold quite well. Even his song " Wo zai shen bian" was top in chart for 2 weeks in one of the radio station here. :happy:

Oh yes Miss_gun... That song is called "Ji Shi Ben".... He also sang another version for that song and I think it sounds even better... :happy:

yeah, steve is a really talented guy. he's been in the music industry for so long already yet it is only now that he became really popular. i think perhaps last time people didn't really take notice of him as he isn't really good-looking. but hmm... looks aren't important. i think steve has great vocals and composing talent. lots of his songs are nice... glad that people are finally taking notice of him now... :happy:

Oh ya, to Malaysian fans. If you notice there is one new comer called Nicholas Teo, sang this Huang Hun song and he was to famous now. He became a singer at the moment.

Xiaogang has a really great voice! he sounds so good in that 5566 song "Wo nan guo", sounds better than them too. I heard this radio show where he was teaching the listeners to sing tt song, and he took so long to teach one line, coz there were so many points to remember juz for one line.

anyone heard Ah Du's newest song? "Hello"? thats his 主打歌 and is composed by Steve Zhou!! I've just heard the song and I think the chorus is some how similar to huang hun... haha..well thats what i think..

I dunno about the similarity as I've only heard "Hello" once. :laughing: But I do like it and Huang Hun as well. It's the best song from XiaoGang. I like Ji Shi Ben too. He sings much better than Kelly Chen for this song. His album is really not bad.

Heard he had a new album. 'Dubbing' something like that..It's a collection of songs he composed for other ppl and sang it back with his own voice. All the songs are from 1987-2002<17 years> and his album contained 17 songs including 'Ji Shi Ben', Huang Hun', 'Wo Nan Guo', 'Hua Xiang', and some new tracks like 'Duo Ai Wo Yi Miao Chung' & 'Wo Zhai Sen Pien'.

I like his Huang Hun cause it's the first song I heard from him. :happy:

Good on ya people for adding Zhou Chuan Xiong to the list! I don't really know much about him, don't even have his albums but I think he's superb, my favorite Asian artist after Jay. I agree with you, Seth_Seth, about all the singers with Zhou as a last name being talented. I was gonna say that but you beat me to it :) I also think Vic Chou is talented.

A lot of people like Huang Hun huh? But so do I. Hehe. That's my favorite song from him then You Xi Ai Qing.

I don't think he's really good-looking but he has the most amazing voice I've ever heard...so moving. Like in Huang Hun, my heart goes up and up and up until it feels like it's gonna pop outta my chest, especially at the chorus. He'd draw with Jay I think, for the best voice.

pretty surprised when i found out Xiao Gang wrote that many great songs.. but think he is much more of a songwriter than a singer.. for songs like Ji Shi Ben, Wo Da Xing Tai Luan.. i pretty much prefer the original singers singing them..

the one really outstanding sound in which Xiao Gang has done really well would be Huang HUn.. that is just a brilliant song..

i love his love songs. i remember him since the early to mid 90s when they used to play flashbeat on channel 18 broadcasting chinese music videos. damn those were awesome days! they used to play all the good people like aaron kwok and just about everyone. i remember this old song xiao gang sang: "ba ai qing zai yuan yuan de di fang" and "back home." damn they were good for their time. hehe. well i thought they were. his songs are always so dramatic or sad, it's so much fun. damn i wish they'd bring back flashbeat; then i can watch jay chou's newest mvs without having to scour the internet for downloads. *sigh...maybe i should just get satellite t.v.?

(;P) i'm a straight guy but i drool over hi...s.... songs (;P) kekeke~ i hope jay can reach his standards one day... to have a song as powerful as "huang hun" i think that song is like... a masterpiece... it works very well and anyone can sing it because it doesnt require someone with a huge range to sing it... i think if a random beggar was to sing that song, even he/she can be a superstar! lol! i didn't know about xiao gang until recently coz of his song Huang Hun..i didn't know he wrote 5566's song - Chuan Shou + wo nan guo!!..those songs rox!

Zhou Zhuan Xiong is a good singer and he writes melodies. There are usually very sad songs but they are very good.

I think everybody know him in China, HK, and Taiwan.

Steve's a veri talented singer and songwriter, but it seems the songs that he wrote for other singers are more famous than the songs that he wrote for himself.
I was thinking, his style of songs r quite suitable for Jeff Chang. Jeff has never sang any song steve wrote b4, and we know that Jeff's popularity is on a decline. Maybe both of them can collaborate, and maybe some sparks may appear. :)
