i seriously think Avril Lavigne is a poseur. I can't stand her at all. seriously can you? if you love and adore this "punk princess" and trying to deny that's she rocks or so, i suggest you to bug off before i'll explode at you. I don't like her, and im gonna bitch abt her.

at 1st she came out singing 'Complicated', singing about be yourself and preppy is a bad thing, is it? i think preppy is ok. i kinda like their neat posh clothes. and she came out wearing dodgy top and a tie. with spikes bracelet and all. WHAT THE HELL?! the she sings about 'Sk8ter boi', which is totally rubbish. i know she's trying to be real and who she is, but is being poseur real?

everytime i stumbled upon watching her interviews, she's like on crack or something shouting "im so punk!" but she being "punk" doesnt even know who is DAVID BOWIE! even me, who is not a punk fan at all, knows him and knows how to pronounce his name! Avril was a church singer that turns punk. how poseur can you get?

her 2nd album was ok. i liked it. i started to like her because she's starting to be abit more realistic and all. and her songs are kinda nice.

THEN, her 3rd new album. WHAT IN THE GRANNY'S PANTIES IS THAT?! Her single 'Girlfriend' is rubbish. it's like a cheesy cheerleading song. i was a cheerleader and i think half of the cheerleaders hearing that song either waves their poms-poms or just commit suicide. She's 20 and she's already married with that dwarf Deryck from Sum 41. and her song is no.5 in the billboard countdown in America.

AMERICA, ARE YOU DEAF?! no offense to the Americans here, im just confused how come such rubbish should even be in the countdown. :crazy:

I hate her. nuff said. She's making Paris Hilton sounds like a Grammy winner.

I don't know what to say about Avril Lavigne. While I'm also skeptical about her image (how do you go from being a moody tomboy who refuses to wear skimpy outfits, to a posh woman who wears tutus and fishnet stockings?), she's still young, and we all go through weird phases. Besides, she's just doing what it takes to be successful, just like any other celebrity.

I do think that she has talent and I respect her for that. But yeahhh... "Girlfriend"... isn't a very good song, and I can't believe she's dancing like that in the video! Has anyone heard the mandarin version?? It's hilarious. XD

Some of Avril's songs are actually pretty good but some are absolute trash. Like what's with girlfriend? She sounds like she's trying to channel Ashlee Simpson's spirit, like two Simpsons isn't bad enough already. The lyrics are so dumb.

Then again, she does have a penchant for the dumbest lyrics (he was a boy she was a girl can i make it anymore obvious. Duh. :glug: ).

Hey there...not all Canadians talk through our noses!! LOL I'm Canadian, so I have to say that much.

About Avril...she's not a big favorite of mine. Although the girl can actually sing (has a nice voice and can carry a tune), I don't care for the bulk of her songs. The song and MV for GIRLFRIEND were particularly assaulting to the senses. So cheesy and cheap. Her IMAGE has gone from punk to sleazy...so much for not selling out. And the Mandarin and Japanese versions of this song were a joke.

If she would go back to her roots and stick to writing/singing something of quality rather than pure commercial crap then I would have more respect for her use of her talent. Otherwise I think she is wasting herself with songs like GIRLFRIEND.
I know she considers herself "punk", but she would do better to leave the trashy clothes and foul language out of her music.
