Did anyone see this on Dong1 Feng1 channel last night? Really short segment of jay and tao zi in a confession booth and tao zi dressed up as a nun? Anyways, tao was asking jay if he had any confessions to make, and he said, "too many. I'll have to push the responsibility of my sins to other pple." Then the conversation went on to how jay goes after girls these days versus in the past. Let me try to summarize:

Tao: So these days, do u chase girls the same way you did in the past? Or do u prefer to, maybe, let them write the lyrics in your songs? (referring to vivian hsu)
Jay: Haha... no.. actually these days, it's more a case of liking someone, but not being able to do anything about it..
Tao: What?? That's a sin in itself! Do you not have the guts to love someone? Or have you lost some particular ability? (referring to sexual)
Jay: Haha... no.. (looking really cute here) actually Im a pretty proud person when it comes to love. For instance, if a girl tries to test my feelings for her by saying, 'ok, let's just remain friends,' I'll be too proud to convince her otherwise. Ill just say, 'ok fine, friends then.' This will then cause us to part.
Tao: Really?? So because of your pride, you'll give up your love?
Jay: yeah... Thats a big problem for me...

The thing that struck me was that jay was pretty serious, esp when he was saying the stuff about how the girl just wants to be friends. I immediately started thinking, who could he be referring to?? What do u guys think?

but that sounds just like me! i could die because of my pride for example, if i told someone that i was definately not going to eat and what they had looked delicous and my stupid stomach decided that it wanted food, i would rather starve and get sick then eat.
some pride is good, but in my (and jay's) case, it's a curse! lol

I'm exactly the same way too...and just like Jay I choose pride over love :oops: . If some guy said he didn't love me anymore, why should I beg him to stay with me? When I love someone, I'm happy when they are happy. And if they are happier without me, then so be it. Like the old saying goes, if you love something let it go, and if it comes back to you then it was meant to be.

p.s. yes pride is one of the 7 deadly sins *eek* :oops:

yeah...i agree dat if its urs den it was always urs to keep, as long as dey're happie i dont see why u can't be happie. n Tao zi...ahahahahahahah i was laughing so hard, cuz i was thinking "david tao?" dressed as a nun... :D lol... but im not sure i'd choose pride over love...even tho i do agree, as i jus said, wen i think about it, luv is a bit more important dan a bit of pride, but i kno in the end i'd let it go bcuz i HATE making a fool of myself... :oops:

i hate to say this but when you cry...not only does it make him feel special...but he probably feels that he shouldn't be with you...just because most guys are like that...i'm not an exception....the more you give us the more we care about it

but to be honest...what is the point of staying anyways...even if the girl begged...when the love is gone...once the true feeling has evaporated...isn't it just pointless to stay together?...you're always going to have that screen of alienation between you two...even if you love him a lot and are happy that he's back with you...deep down you know his heart is no longer with you...why keep him?

at least thats how i feel...

but i'd never beg any girl to stay with me if she wants to go...i know its pointless...i will mourn over it...perhaps for a considerable amount of time...but i will never let her know that...

yeah, that was what hit me too, that he actually has someone in mind when he was saying all that... I actually suspect it's jolin, much as i dont want it to be her. Cuz they always claim to be "good friends" and they were much closer before the rumors started. No it wasnt on entertainment news. They actually showed it during commercial time...

I agree that pride is impt, but in his case, it's like, he didnt even make his feelings known ya know? it just seemed like the girl suggested they remain just friends for whatever reason and he jus went ok! even tho his heart was aching. I think he should've at least have told her how he really felt. If she really rejects him (who would???), then obviously pride should kick in to tell him to take it like a man, and dont go begging her to stay. This whole situation reminds me of "kai bu liao kou"....

hahaa.. sorry abt the confusion, cuz in taiwan, they call mathilda tao "tao zi jie," which means something like sister tao.. hahaa... dave tao in nun attire :D

mm.. i could say i'm prideful. i would never NEVER beg for a guy back. that's like impossible and would never happen.

but if i really really liked that person.. i would wait forever for them. but if they told me they didn't like me anymore..i would just be hurt for a long time. but once i've gotten over that, then there's no way i would take them back.

for jay, i hope he finds sumone he luvs, i dont kno if he's talking about vivian, or jolin, or nebodi else, but hu ever it is, i hope jay finds sumone dat one day , he can let go of his pride, bcuz for sure, dat person will be the person he truly luv.

I think dat it hurts a lot when sumbodi u care deeply leaves u...but i hafn't been blessed enuf to go thru dat. yes, blessed in my perspective, bcuz i think that its one thing a person leaves u, but its a whole different thing wen their heart was never der with u, n never will be. Just wanna add that I think I know what show that segment was in.
It's a show on Dong Feng called 'Nan Nu Da Bu Tong'. Kinda like a Talk Show where they get a bunch of guys and gals and some artistes on to talk about love and relationship.
I happen to catch an epi of that show yesterday and saw Matilda Tao in her nun get-up and I was like "THIS IS THE SHOW WE WERE TALKING ABOUT IN THE FORUM!"
But of course, it wasn't Jay they were interviewing this time but another artiste that went on the show... meaning, Jay was probably ON THE SHOW! Sharing his views on relationships etc...
Sigh... Damn... wish I could have seen it!

Momoco (Matilda) has moved to Dong Fong, the show she hosts has moved to Dong Fong...and she really wants to start her own show...collected money for it..but Chang Xiao Yan (the most famous TV show hostess in Taiwan) doesn't wanna let her go yet

she treats Momoco like a daughter and knows she does a good job hosting...so she decided that it'll take a long while to find a replacement for her

Anyway, I have to admit I have a lot of pride too, like Jay. If it came down to begging for love or just letting the person go, I'd let the person go. If I'm in a relationship, I have to be first. Won't be taking crap from some guy. What's the point of begging for love when either way, they probably want to be friends anyway?

I think it's sad that someone actually only wanted to be friends with Jay... I have to agree with him for letting her go. If she doesn't want it to be anything more, he can't stop her. And I'm glad Jay has pride too. Can anyone imagine him begging a girl to stay with him?

Ugh. Jay's a sweet heart, but I'm sure he would never go that low. Why would he?

Well, most guys are just like Jay. They would put their pride on top of their love life. I actually kinda like this kind of guy better than those guys who begged and cry in front of the girl not to leave him. **yikes**

i would say that sometimes it is more of a question of insecurity than of pride. dont you think :hmm:
some guys tend to stick to their pride especially if they are not sure of how the girls might REALLY feel about them. So if the girl says "lets be friends, ok?" :worry: , guys would normaly say, "sure".
like girls, guys do need some reassurance :love: :love: :love: . They seem to be big men already :ninja: , but deep inside they are just big boys :cowboy:.
in JAy's case, it is not easy to being a star that the is :wink2: . one can never be too sure the reason why people like/love you especially if you are as famous like JAy. his doubts and his need to cling for safety (in this case, his pride) could actually protect him from senseless heartaches :bye: and wasted time.
there are girls who would actually try to get him to gain popularity :nunchuks: or fulfill a challenge, not necessarily love him :cloud9:. I just hope that when Jay finally meet THAT wonderful girl who trully loves him, he has some sense to go and fight for her :rifle: . PRIDE be DAMNED :bang:

Yeah Mika, speaking about wonderful gal, I would sincerely wish that Jay finds that. Somehow, the rumours of women he's been with like Vivian and Jolin doesn't seem to portray to me that Jay's into character rather, he's more into looks. I may not know Jolin or Vivian personally to comment on their characters but I simply cannot imagine the both of them to be the kind of person that Jay would fall for.

He says that he's looking for someone with 气质 (loosely translated as charisma) and also hopefully someone who can play the piano or is musically-inclined and more of the quiet and gentle side. By the way, I got this info from the interview he did with 陶子姐。 So, I'd rather believe those were just rumours and sincerely believe he'll find someone true to him.

It's funny coz' during the interview, Jay actually took the initiative to 征友 (gave his criteria for his ideal galfriend). And I think other than making good music, he probably is looking for someone to love too.

Forgive me for disagreeing with a *lot* of people here.

I think you're all taking this way too literally. I don't think this has anything to do with pride -- but rather, Jay's insecurity with relationships. By saying that he's too proud in trying to fight for love, what I believe is that he's actually afraid of arguing for something when he isn't actually wanted by the other person.

I don't believe that Jay is as shallow and superficial as many of you may seem to want to believe, especially in consideration of the fact that things are being taken at face value without an attempt at trying to read between the lines.

The pride problem is my problem also. Once i was at a resturant and i was mad for some reason and wouldn't eat because of the principal of the matter. The food looked so good and it was for charity and everything was paid for already and i was surrounded by people i didn't know looking at me funny. *sigh damn pride!! so good to know Jay is so prideful too

you can have pride for many things, but when you apply it to love - it's a whole nother ball game. i think jay's answer gives good insight as to how Jay deals with love and relationships. maybe he hasn't met the right person yet that is able to make him OVERCOME that pride, allow his guard down and let a significant other in close to him. perhaps he hasn't matured to that level yet as a man. some guys never do, but if he's lucky enough to find someone to give that chance to open up to, he might find that it is worth it to let his wall down and set aside his pride. becuz at the end of the day, all you really have left is your relationship with people. being able to have love and share that with someone speaks immeasureably. i just hope Jay is able to ascertain that one day and not let his pride interfere in perhaps letting something so great escape from him.
