going for the home stretch..this is the second group of the R&B songs

i chose love before the century..hard song to sing to but very catchy. and it also comes from my favorite albums besides ye hui mei.i would've picked a song from yhm but i'm not too fond of you can hear it

i chose shanghai, 1943.. but it was a tough call between love before AD and this one.. but shanghai's less mumbly.. and a little easier to understand and learn for the non-mando speaking people :happy:

i love 'you can hear it'. it's got a nice tune and an so 'aaaaw' mv!!! (i do believe i can be influenced by mvs :oops: ) but it is a really nice song though.

i like the 2nd verse where (learnt this bit from the translations here!) he reverses one of the lines =)

for me it was a toss up between Love Before AD and Iron Box. they're both beautiful in their own way, but I couldn't go past Love Before AD. Perhaps it's Jay's mumbling that makes this song so pretty.

I didn't vote for Love Before AD because although it did click for me, it wasn't as loved as "You Can Hear". It's got a beautiful MV (Espeicially the scenery) and the lyrics were filled with so much.. love (I keep using this word but it's just the perfect word to describe Jay's songs XD)

Even though the mv was quite :sweat:, I still loved the song, the whole melody & feel to it :-)

it's a hard choice between You Can Hear It, and Shanghai 1943, but in the end i chose the later. somehow, i like the way Jay sings this song. :-)

I've fallen in love with the song the first time I heard it and the MV just made it one of my all time favourites. I really don't know what to say about my choice. It just touches my heart every time I hear it.

Love Before AD win my vote.

This is the very first song I hear from my first Jay CD fantasy, and I fall in love with it on the very first listen. I didn't even understand anything he said (since he mumbles and the lyrics are too Vincent Fang-ish), but the melody was just stuck in my head everyday, and I just have to listen more and more of this song.

This is still the number one song I choose everytime I want to burn new collective Jay's CD.

You Can Hear It finally gets my vote: for the beautiful melody and the simple lyrics. The backwards line was crazy...I listened to this song for 3 years not knowing that.

Iron Box of the Penninsula is great too...I think it's one of his first where he starts to make the rap-ballad more heavy.

Love Before AD has a great beat. I'm always singing it in the shower XD

Shanghai 1943 has that nostalgic feel to it too.

This was pretty hard.

Well, again it was a toss up between two songs. Ban dao tie he or shanghai 1943? :glug:

In the end, I went with Shanghai 1943 bcos it is able to conjure up such vivid imageries and bcos it just gives me a greater sense of nostalgia. :-)

OMG, Love Before AD has to win this!
:) This is my second favorite Jay song ever, and imo, the best R&B song he's ever written. The lyrics are incredibly romantic as well...love the references to Mesopotamia. I had this song on repeat for a week...and I'll never get tired of it. It's such a beautiful, romantic song!

This is probably the easiest (and worst) group among all. :sweat:

From this group, Ban Dao Tie He stands out from the bunch. Ni Ting De Dao is good as well, but it's just too mellow and repetitive for me.
