i'd just like to first say, I DO NOT LIKE JOEY YUNG AT ALL.

she's such a copycat:
-made a remake of butterfly(DDR)
-made a remake of crush
-made a remake of rain's "it's raining," except, in her song, it says "go joey go joey, it's joey, it's joey." WHAT IS THIS. -___-

and there's probably lots more. come on, get some original songs! she literally used the same beats, lyrics, sounds, and everything. she just sang it in cantonese.

and i hate her voice. it sounds like she's dying or something. where's the sound?

Wow, I can't say that I like Rain for his music (just his hotness), but wow, Joey's version of "It's Raining" has got to be one of the worst things I've ever heard. Her vocals are terrible. Ugh. Hahahaha, the "Go Joey" part totally didn't work. I expected it to be "It's Joeying."

I listened to the version of "It's Raining" that she did and I have to say it sounds terrible. The breathing parts sounded especially bad, like she was suffocating. :oops: and the "It's Joey" parts sounded pretty stupid.

I won't go as far to say that she can't sing though. Because she can. Just not Rain's song. :yuck:

the "it's raining" song that she did was part of a TVB show, so all the lyrics and stuff was made by tvb...so i think it's harsh to blame the lame-ness and stupid-ness of the song onto joey..i think she did it for a fundraising show too...so in the end "good" came out of this song

and..the fact that her clothes are "copied"..it's kinda like her stylists's fault isnt it??...so all you can really say is she's got herself the wrong stylists

Hmm... I have to say that Joey did kill that song. Esp. the part "it's joey, it's joey...,' oh, well... it did sound stupid. Maybe I should have rant on TVB instead for making her singing that song.

But really, I think it's unfair that we're calling her a copycat while many other chinese artists also had chinese rendetions of Korean and Western songs in their albums. (S.H.E, for instance). And just like jay_ed said, she did this for fundraising. It's not like she recorded it in her album.

And asianparis, before you rant on her and calling her a fake artist with no talent, you should really listen to some of her songs. Don't judge her just by listening to her 'It's Raining' performance. Because I don't think she'd won a lot of awards as HK best female singer, if she really had no talent.:wink2:

I didn't know for sure about her having plastic surgery. I've been a fan of her since her 'Honestly' album, and the way I saw it now and then, her face features don't really change. It's just that she lost quite a lot of weight, that's why she looks prettier now. :?

actually summer, i think she did hav plastic surgery. guys dont say 'joey was ugly before but after surgery shes pretty!' for no reason. thats what i heard from a few guys already.

sigh. i dont really like her songs that much, but yes i do admit she has a certain talent, a certain voice....some of her songs are ok.

i personally dislike most of canto music these few years, it has gotten soooo sh** especially with that fiona s*it (sit but i prefer to call it s*it) gosh shes horrible and in acting as well her face is too freakin ruond and looks like a ball i wanna freakin kick it espcecially in love undercover 3!(its the newest love undercover). farout.

Summer- like what kirasuran said, she has had surgery. just look at her nose before and after. you can tell for sure she had a nose job done. maybe its because you are a fan of her and thats why you dont see it because you well biased? i mean we always wanna stick up for our idol. i do like this one song she sang with edison chen. that was a nice song. however thats no excuse for her rain cover song failure. ppl dont penalize S.H.E for re making versions of western and or japanaese/ korean songs because they dont kill it and make it sound like crap. if you are gonna remake a song make sure you do a good job or else you know you're gonna get talked about.

@ asianparis...what we are trying to say is...joey didnt chose to re-make that song TVB forced her, and honestly..for TVB...it was actually an ok-remake...coz their remakes are like..s*it...besides..the point is..she did it for a good deed..i'm sure it can cancel out for how crap the song is...and the fact that it's crap DOES NOT lie with joey...she did the best she could...given how tvb is crap..[at remaking songs..i have nothing agains tvb ok..]..you cannot blame joey for killing the song while "re-making" it...coz she had nothing to do with the process...

as for plastics..i duno whether she had it or not..who cares..it's not like you're looking at her face right??...who cares...like 95% of korean female artists have had plastics...so how come no one is anti them??? it's so sad sometimes...how ppl comment on her being ugly....so say she got sick of it..and went for plastics..IF she did...so the punishment for that is to get even MORE criticised??it's kinda unfair...

joey has talent..and she can sings ALOT better than a lot of the ppl out there...some ppl..you listen to them..and you're like..ok..it's good..and then you listen to them live..and you're like WHAT THE ****???!!

Is it just a nose job for her, or are there still other parts? I will go take a closer look next time I see HK news. She's following the trend of plastic surgery amongst the top asian singers. In Taiwan, there's jolin, japan, ayumi, hong kong we have joey yung... haha =)

@ jay_ed- um i get what you are saying but she could've said no when TVBS approached her. and just because its for charity doesnt make the fact that her cover version of rain's song was the worst cover version of any song in the history of songs any better. it was still a train wreck. plus no one antis those korean celebs because they are open about getting plastic surgery. unlike so many of the chinese celebs who hids it. i hate that, if you got something done then you got something done. im not against plastic surgery, im just against ppl who had plastic surgery but wont admitt they did. and yes she has had plastic surgery, the nose is completely different

plus..i dun think EEG will allow her to say no to a show like that anyways

i just didnt think it was fair to say she's a copycat and therefore you can hate her just coz of one crappy performance and the fact that a lot of ppl think she has had plastic surgery...you cant justify hating someone coz they got plastics..

plus..i'm sure every singer out there has had there lousy performances..and judgement calls...in fact everyone does in life...

pretty much every asian singer is a "copycat". Same with any other region in the world... if they were truly groundbreaking they wouldn't be pop musicians. I heard Joey live at Paula Tsui's concert and she was not very good. I don't think she's an excellent vocalist, though I don't think many new singers are great (off the top of my head, I can think of Leehom. Justin's ok... oh Janice is good too). But I can tell Joey is very hrad working so she deserves her fans. The fans are just closed-minded
