Make Your Own Movie
Intro
This is a contest that can be done on your own or you can also submit in a group. Since Jay has started his recent movie stint, we want you to use your creativity and put Jay in a role that YOU would like to see him in! This is a very extensive contest involving three parts and combines both your writing skills and your artistic skills, so read carefully.
Instructions
1) Make a movie poster for your movie starring Jay.
It should have:
The name of the movie
Jay, somewhere, obviously.
Any other lead characters if any.
And then anything goes after that. You can do it in traditional movie poster format or you can do anything else you want, but the style of the poster should be similar what follows (ie if your movie is about dynasty China, you should not have Jay dressed in a suit on the poster)
2) Write a synopsis of the movie
This should have:
A description of the movie with the name of the characters and whoever is playing them in brackets after it.
ie. A struggling painter Nick (Jay Chou) meets a wealthy and spoiled actress Joy (Hebe) and they fall in love.
But of course, we'd like you to be more creative. There is a 500 word maximum.
3) Choose a soundtrack for your movie from Jay's songs
There should be a minimum of 5 songs and a maximum of 10 songs in this section. You can be creative in this section by either providing a brief description of the scene that the song will play in OR by creating a storyboard that shows the image of the movie that the song would play in
ie. Nick is running after Joy's car in the rain when she announces that she doesn't love him anymore. The song playing in the background is "An Jing".
or a picture of Nick (Jay) running in the rain and then somewhere on the picture there is the name of the song "An Jing" so we know that is the one playing in the background. You can also include lines from the lyrics if you wish.
Optional
You have the option of gaining super duper bonus points if you want to combine the soundtrack with the storyboard together by making a short "trailer" with the songs in the background as the pictures flash by. But this is very challenging, so I don't expect anybody to do this. Just an idea.
Rules
1) This can be a collaborative effort. You can have one person writing the synopsis and another make a poster, or two people working on a poster, or whatever. There is a limit of THREE PEOPLE MAXIMUM in a group.
2) Contest ends after song battle ends. Yup.
3) Be creative!
4) PM entries to me altogether in one group. Do not have one person PM one section to me and another person PM another section.
In your entry include:
a) names of the people in your group
b) name of your group (think of something supercreative)
c) you can either upload the sections separately and label them clearly OR upload them all into one zip file and upload.
Questions? They go in this thread.
