RHYMES & BEATS: JCNet's Poetry Contest

Intro
Since JCNet is running a battle for the ultimate Jay Song, there will be some contests and mini games alongside for all of you to participate in so we can all countdown the votes for the polls to determine the favorite Jay song. But as the contest is running, we also want JCNet's members to show off their own creativity and imagination, so with the Hip Hop/Rap category, we will have a contest to create our own rhymes and beats (or just poetry in general).

To let you all know, there will be a mini game / contest for each song category (hopefully), so stay tuned for other contests / games as well

Rules
1) Contest starts today Feb 3rd, and ends whenever the Battle of the Ultimate Jay Song ends.
2) Your poems should be at least 5 lines and no longer than 50 lines.
3) There is no set theme to the poems, but since Valentine's Day is coming up, feel free to write poems for Valentines.
4) There is no set form to the poems. You can write free verse, sonnets, raps, odes, limericks, hallmark-esque poems. It's about to you.
5) You may submit ONE or TWO poems, but the poems must be submitted in ONE post, and if we do have a vote, we will vote on your poetry as a whole instead of each individual poem. So remember that if you have one ok poem and one super fantastic poem, it may deter others from voting for you.
6) Submit your poem in this thread in ONE post. You may edit your poem as the contest goes on, but you MAY NOT resubmit your poems again and again in this thread, and you must keep your maximum of two poems within one post.
7) Questions and submissions go in this thread, no socialising or poem discussion in this thread please.
8) Obviously, no copying or plagiarizing allowed.

Judging
To be determined. Depends on the amount of response we get for this, we may have a first round by a panel of judges to narrow it down to the top 10 or we may just put everything in a poll or a rating scale, we will see.

I've been thinking all day,
what to give Jay
On Valentine's Day,

One of those 'Typical Days'

I wake up thinking of a typical school day,
while my parents nag to get their way.
Staring into my fridge, looking for something to eat,
I choose ice cream, because of the heat.
Eating slowly, I stare throught the window into the sky,
thinking of how my enemies could die.
Oh dear! It's almost time to go to school!
I get held back, since my mom is making me eat gruel...
Rushing upstairs, I think of the time
I think of how long it took me to eat that disgusting grime.
I get dressed, and wash my face
trying to rush to the car while tying my shoe lace
Great, I'm late for my first class!
Ew, a classmate is scratching their rash!
I sit through my classes, doing my work
saying, "excuse me," when I burp
When I get home, I drink cherry coke,
laughing when I think of my friend's weird joke.
I go into my room, turning on my computer
while nagging my mom for a new printer.
I go online and chat with my friends,
who are kind people! They don't offend!
It's time to eat dinner! I rush downstairs,
without a care.
When I'm full, I go do my work,
while my sister and I call each other a jerk.
Gosh I"m tired, I think I'll go to sleep.
Crawling into bed, I think of a ghost, and get the creeps.

No Happy Ending

Perhaps I knew from the very beginning
From the first initial moment
That what was to ensue
Would transpire to this—
And perhaps even then I warned myself
Shielded myself, held myself back
Essentially did everything in my power
To deny that inevitable start—
But to no avail…

Perhaps I knew from the instant
I recognized the symptoms
That my failed attempts at resistance
Would only become a prelude to something more—
And perhaps even while I was fighting
While I kept finding reasons against it all
Kept reiterating firm no’s
Whenever the matter was brought up—
Another part would murmur yes

Perhaps I knew before the fight was over
Before it had even begun
That I would lose
Fully, completely, and willingly—
And perhaps I even celebrated
Danced around, beamed endlessly
Laughed (as though I had found my rose)
At the outcome of this battle—
Only to find more disappointment than delight

Perhaps I knew from the moment
I raised my hands in defeat
That the white flag clasped in my fingers
Would be trampled over endlessly—
And perhaps I readily devoted all my time
Into providing comfort, warmth, and affection
Into bringing out a simple smile
On the most mundane of days—
All for one who would not do the same for me

How was I to know
That the moments spent with you
Would leave me feeling cold and empty
Instead of warm and elated—
And how was I to know
That being around you would distort my breathing patterns,
At times, leaving me with half breaths
And other times, suffocating me—
Instead of taking my breath away…

How was I to know
That all the care I put in
Would be tossed aside carelessly
And the affection I wished for in turn offered to someone else—
And how was I to know
That even though what now exists between us
Is only an awkward shadow of what it used to be
That even though there is no happy ending in sight—
I still think of you and smile.

Cheating in post trial papers,

Seems small but to me, matters.

Remember our paintball game,
Hitting me on the thigh, the PAIN!

When i irked you a time too many.

The singing sessions, dirt talks and games,
The prayers and the second names,
Cant you think back on it,
Did you forget?

If only the “east wind breaks” all limitations
Perhaps then we could “go back to the past”
Standing before this “cliff of love”
I release a hundred puddles into the “coral sea”
Your “chrysanthemum flower bed” travels like a “snail”
Slowly “drifting” “all the way north”
I wish this was a “clock that goes backwards”
Or perhaps a motion picture I can “rewind”
I can only hope that “you are happier than in the past”
I know “you can hear it” from the distance
The word I “cannot speak” without tears
