This is the best love story ever...A cinderella story...a new one! :wink2:

The movie is acclimated in century 16. Danielle De Barbarac (Drew Barrymore) is a humble girl, polite, very into books (like Utopia) and an only child who father died when she was only 10 years old. She grew up with her stepmother and her beautiful but mean daughters. They treated her very badly and always make her does things like she was a maid, while the rest of the girls were "royalty". Suddenly she met a guy in the most unexpected way, he stole a horse from her house/farm but Danielle (with also an agressive caracter) prevented the robbery and met the guy of her dreams, withouth knowing that he was a prince.

Mean while her stepmother and her stepsisters fight to become the Prince Henry's bride because of the upcoming marriage of Prince Henry to the Spanish Princess. Prince Henry with Danielle in his mind cancelled the marriage and Danielle with her inteligence and independence make Prince Henry fell in love with her and she fell for him too.

Then a Cinderella story begins....not the usual story, a new one but conserving the solid fairy story. In this movie Danielle received help not from a "fairy godmother," but from one of history's most renowned figures, Leonardo da Vinci. He became her friend and helped her with her magic night.

This is a love story for the romantic ones out there. The story develops in 16th century with the big and wonderful clothes, the streets full of merchants and with the magnifies royalty. In spite of the rules to follow, Danielle refuses to be "juts like them", she is who she is....a very humble girl with big dreams and innocence. Drew Barryomre offers a "modern" interpretation of Cinderella. She acted very good and she gave a special touch to the personage, plus she speaked very well with British accent. On the other hand Dougray Scott (Prince Henry), is a handsome yet complex character. He's very confused and very infantile...the tipical "dad and mama's boy"; but he found the truth in live by the figure of Danielle and he can not resist to her charm and inteligence. I love the way Dougray Scott interprets Prince Henry....so spoil but at the same time very manly. Anjelica Huston (the stepmother) is the evil in the movie...she's so mean and so selfish, her only goal is to make Danielle's life miserable. This is the stepmother you don't want to have. Patrick Godfrey plays the role of Leonardo da Vinci. Godfrey is the tipical crazy, enthusiastic and talented scientist. The rest of the cast complementing very well the story...they transfer us through the time.

This movie teachs us a lot about love and life, and how to live and face the problems or troubles that love brings. Drew in this role is a role model for all the girls and woman in the world, in spite of her work she's also a woman with dignity and she never gives up....and at the end she found true love.

"Ever After is a great date movie because it offers a wonderful love story. Its theme of true love triumphing over huge obstacles is sure to warm the hearts of dating couples of all ages"

As the story tells:....And they live happily ever after...

 My cousin & I decided to watch this movie at the theater after watching the breath taking trailer with Robert Miles' creative techno music playing in the background. The last words I remember from the song was "tell me a fable".It was wondrous.:excited:

But when we saw it.It wasn't as grand & majestic as the trailer made it seem to be.However,it was still a beautiful retelling of the Cinderella story.Drew Barrymore was pretty amazing in this movie also.I would have to say it's definitely worth watching though.I still enjoyed it.

I've watched this movie 2 or 3 times. but I haven't seen it in quite a long while. It's a Cinderella story but it's pretty good. Very romantic. Cute too.

it's been awhile since i've watched this movie, but it is one of my all time favorite chick flicks..

Drew Barrymore's character is a strong, outspoken, couragous female who doesn't need a prince to come rescue her. She is witty, headstrong and determined..

it's a nice twist to the Cinderella story.. i would definitely recommend this movie.. haha

OMG, I haven't seen this in soo long! lol when I first watched this, I was almost obsessed with it, lol, but I love it, probably cinderella has always been my favourite fairy tale, I thought it was so romantic, I love how it was based in 16th century France, it made me fell in love with the time, the country, and culture, this is probably why I learnt in French when I was in High school. :)
