Silverstein is a cross between punk, emo, and hardcore rock. "Discover The Waterfront" is their newest album, released Jan. 17, 2006. This is the first time I've listened to their album. Silverstein fits within emo, specifically the subgenre known as screamo - emotional rock with screaming. Not really much screaming in the album, except for some intro or emphasis on words. The vocals are pretty good, considering that he actually sings in most of the songs, no screaming. The songs blend together, but some do pop out of the overall feel.

My current favorite tracks are:
9.Already Dead- Gives me a feel of Avenged Sevenfold. Though lyrics like some emo band. Song has some weird rhythms, but still one of my favs. Sounds too typical like all the other bands though. Nothing special, just a song on the cd.

10.Three Hours Back- Same reason as "Already Dead". Slower, but nothing really special about the song.

Many people probably hate emo music due to its lack of variety. Although all emo bands sound similar, Silverstein is great. This album has an distinctive sound from other bands. They're talented, and sets the stage for a new wave of music. If you're in the mood to try a new artist, go with Silverstein. I recommend track 9 and 10. Though most people like "Smile In Your Sleep(Track 2)".
