Do you mind other artists singing his song or him writing it for someone else? Personally I think it's great especially when he sings it too. So you can compare and also hear it from a different type of voice. Of course though I liked Jay singing it over all of them but still I like hearing it from a different artists.

I don't mind other artists singing his song. I'm interested in hearing their interpretation of it and also to hear a difference voice sing it.

Like that Indonesian version of Love Before AD made me wonder how it would sound if Jay had sung it as a duet. I think a female voice makes that song more beautiful than it already is.

I don't mind him writing for others either, although I wish he would release a cd with just HIM singing it as well.

yah..i dont mind him writing songs for others, or others singing his songs neither..i think it provides more variety n its interesting to see how diff voices sounds in the song..hehe...Jay sings nicely in duets, i think he shuld sing more duets...

yeah, i do agree that Jay sang very nicely in duet. his duet with landy sounds much better than the one sang by Jacky Wu. Me oso hope tt he can sing more duets, maybe wif stefanie sun cos their voice will be a bit contrast and i hope to see how jay can produce a song tt suited both of them well....

sing with stef sun? i havent heard him sing in a duet yet..but I also dun mind others singing his songs coz he made esp for that person so it shld be nice too..but wld like to hear him sing cover songs... :)
that wld be nice...eg Dao Ma Dan and Fa Tang! still cant imagine that he wld compose a song like Fa Tang! :D

anyway, its good that other artists are interested in singing jay's songs. it just proves how good he is that he makes other fellow artists appreciate the beauty of his songs, and its always nice to hear another version because then when you listen to jay's original, it just sounds a hundred times better!

Well I have never heard another singer sing Jay's songs. Actually Elva sang SILENCE in her own version. But that's like the only remix I heard. You guys listen to Japanese music too? I am currently trying to learn how to speak it. Konichiwa? Do-mo-ali-ga-do! LoL. Continue on . .

me..am i the only one? anyway been listening to j music for 6 years until in 2001 Jay's music "enlightened" me tat chinese music do have their own appeal..^^;; though i once given up on chinese music

mm i used to listen to japanese music.. for a while that's all i listened to along with cantonese music. then i just realized that i love korean music much MUCH more. and so i listen to Korean music and Jay lol.

mm i take Japanese classes. Been taking em for three years now. ^^ But I think the classes are too slow for me. =P

i think it's cool that other artists sing his songs in concerts and stuff. and i like his duets.. even though he's only done .. one? i want him to do a duet with ELVA. they both have unique voices.. it'd be really nice

my mom said that elva wrote "wen [kiss]" and while she was recording it in the studio, she started crying :| .. random fact for u :p

i wouldnt mind other singers singing jay's songs...usually jay sings it best haha. but yea if they do a good job, good for htem=) i also dont mind jay singing other people's songs, including the songs he wrote for them. i actually look forwad to listening to them b/c he usually tailors the song a bit, and for the ones hes done so far, i like his versions a lot=)

did you guys hear the parody one of 'rooftop' when he sang it with bowie tsang (eric tsang's daughter) but it was renamed 'kitchen' it's sooooooooooo funny, and even in that one he puts so mcuh effort in to it (while trying to hold back laughter at the same time)
He's just so damn talented!!! no wonder im so obsessed with him!!!!!!!

Jiang Meiqi recently did a cover of Jay's XingQing. The song can be found in her latest album.
I've heard it... it's ok. Not fantastic, just ok... Jay does it FANTASTIC(needless to say)!
She just do it pleasant enough to listen to... the 'feel' is not there though.
We have Jiang Mei Qi's version here but unfortunately the link is invalid since our home server (jay-chou.net) is down.

When it's up and working again, anyone who's interested in hearing it may locate it in the Music forum.

wow never knew elva plays the piano...impressive! a duet with jay would be interesting. so far, i find that only landy, coco and elva can deliver a jay song really well, compared to other singers. i can't imagine anyone else singing Dao Ma Dan or Fa Tang.

i think it's nice to hear other singers singing jay's songs, it expresses the music in a different light. but i still prefer jay singing them though, like Wo Niu and Shi Jie Mo Ri, he practically makes you vibrate with emotions! even when he sings covers, he does it with so much focus, plus his natural seductive voice adds such a delicious flavour it makes you nervous ^-^ actually, practically anything he sings he makes you shiver with delight hehe!

Sounds quite cool tt many artist are singing covers of JAY's songs. Just proofs tt his music is great n is respected by his peers in the industry.

The only person i heard singing JAY's song was Andy Hui singing XING JING. Tot tt he did quite a gd job.

Aniwae, Jay alwaes modifies other singer's music n sings them during his own gig, so i guess its all just mutual respect.

hey guys.... I never heard any singers singing Jay's songs (i mean the ones that he composed for them) other than Jordan Chan's hug.
Which ones do you recommend?

As for duet, I think Jay sounded EXCELLENT in rooftop, he sounded so gentle and emotional and realllyyyy sexy... that song is reallly good.. i didn't find landy's voice to be that good tho, her voice is good (technique wise) but i just don't like it that much. jay makes up for it tho :)

Oh and I love zhui (by leslie cheung) so i really hope i can hear Jay sing it...cuz i read that he sang it in a concert???
That song is one of my personal faves! Too bad leslie died :(

Yeah. I heard it once and made me think for a while..who is singing my Xinq Qin. But it;s quite good. Not bad lah.
I think we should proud if other artist singing Jay's songs cos that mean that his songs are really really good.
But i hate the recover of Love BC from Indonesian artist called TOFU!! My friends bought their cd and when i look for the recover (they change the tittle in "Cinta Abadi" means Eternal Love) they mispell Jay Chou into JOY CHOU!!! OMG i just wanna :ranting: and they said they like the song but because jay isn't that famous in Indonesia that's why they want to recover the song!! What???? are you kidding me???:ranting:

I haven't heard of artists singing Jay songs but I think it's great. It shows how much other artists appreciate his compositions enough to sing it. Wouldn't you yourself be touched too? It is a great promotion for the original artist. Besides, I like to hear their interpretation...hopefully it is worthy of the original and they execute it well.
