Okay, Phyxius, I didn't cry when listening to Gui Ji. I was nowhere near there. I mean, it's a very nice song, but it's not like I've experienced something like that exactly. It's pretty sad though and if you've had similar experience then I'd see why it made you cry.

Considering that I could only understand about 15 words in the whole song, I'm gonna have to say no. I just loved the melody and fell in love with that. It didn't make me cry, the melody sounds almost empowering to me. Like Jay is overcoming something, not in pain like in Black Humor. After reading Lisa's translation I realized that that is what's going on too. So I love how the melody matched with the message.

i was listening for the song to be played on radio last wk. the DJs actually commented that Jay's pronounced the words in the songs clearly in Gui Ji. at least we could make out what he was singing... :D

sure, it's a sad song..but i've heard far more depressing ones...i was nowhere near crying when i heard it...the first time i heard it i hardly liked it, now that i listen to itmore i start to really like this song, but nope... the lyrics are really quite sad for this song, just not enough to make me cry, and that's probably because it's not as personal to me as other songs are when i try to relate it to my past experiences.

Like u, the last song that made me cry was Jay's An Jing. I happened to be trying to get ovr my first love at that time.

Jay's songs always touched my heart. I like his style, his voice. He writes songs which are close to his heart.

Jay's songs that made me cry are The Signal ( An Hao ) and East Wind Broke ( Dong Feng Po ). I don't understand Chinese, but everytime I feel sad, I always cry when I hear the melody of these 2 songs. After I read the English translations of the songs I was even more touched. The melody of the song really relate to its meaning as they are so sentimental. On my bad days I almost cry in public while listen to East Wind Broke (in my CD walkman). I have to admit that Jay's songs made me become more emotional , considerate and soft these days. I just don't know how Jay can come up with such touchy melody that touch people who NOT a word know of Chinese. A GENIUS HE IS.

Well, well, well, i'm glad to know that i'm not the only one who cry after listening this song! It just happened yesterday. I dunno why coz i listened to it in his concert here in BKK but i didn't feel sad or sth. like that but when i listen to it today (with my full attention) i found myself start crying but not much. When i first listened to it on the radio (before i even know the title and before watching Hidden Track), i didn't feel alot for the song cos i never got to hear the full song.

The time when i watched Hidden Track and heard it in the cinema, i was finally able to hear it from the start till the end and understood the lyrics. It left a very deep impression and the very next thing i wanted to do was to lay my hands on the EP!

I was moved to tears when I played it back home the very first time while singing along... :cry:
The lyrics and the music complement each other perfectly and i never feel as much emotion being put in the rest of his songs.

I like the earlier half of the song where he sounded especially gentle and lovelorn... :sad:

The song still brings me to the verge of tears each time i heard it...it still does...

Gui Ji has been my most favourite song for a long time. It has so much feeling and sorrow in the song. Unlike Duan Le De Xian that sounds almost the same tune all the way, Gui Ji has highs and lows and I simply love the lyrics.
