I love the movie Eragon. i think anyone who likes Eragon should go watch . even though many people say that you should not watch because it was horrible but i strongly disagree. i think even though i think that the movie took out alot of the book but was still an enjoyable movie. My friends think that Eragon played byEdward Speleers was very cute.:-) :bleh:

Cast:(name of the character and the actual actors and actress)
Eragon-Edward Speleers
Brom-Jeremy Irons
King Galbatorix-John Malkovich
Ajihad-Djimon Hounson
Arya-Sienna Guillory
Roran-Chris Egan
Durza-Robert Carlyle
Murtagh-Garrett Hedlund(we found him to be quite cool and cute. he was in the movie Troy if you recognized him.)
Uncle Garro-Alun Armstrong
King Hrothgar-Gary Lewis

1.Acting:3/5. The acting was not that great. but since Edward Speleers is a new actor that has never acted in movies before. He would be consider a well actor for the first time. Most of the other actors and actresses were great but i can't compare them with the other movies that they were in because i never saw them.

2.Cinematography:5/5. THe cinematography was okay. the sound effect and the graphics were great. i love the dragon because it was so real and really cute as a baby.

3.Music:didn't pay attention to the music that much
This movie was based on a book by Christopher Paolini. At the beginning the princess is running in the forest and then she wishes it away because she is being chased by a bad guy. A boy named Eragon(Edward Speleers) finds a polished blue stone in the forest. At first, he thinks it's a lucky discovery, something that will bring meat to his poor family for the winter. Instead, it brings a dragon hatchling, and Eragon is soon thrust into a world of magic and power through which he and the dragon must navigate.

In the story, there is a quest for Eragon to find a way to protect his dragon and him from the King. The king was a dragon rider himself but abused the power to became King. So Eragon has to save his home and the empire from the dark forces. Since Eragon stumbled over the rock he discover an old legend. He was destined to save the Empire. This movie deals with a lot of magic, dragons and sorcery. This movie was like a mix of Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings.
I think that this movie was really worth watching even though many people say that they didn't like it because it was different from the book. even though it was different from the book i still like it because it was a really good movie. most people just think that the book is better and i do agree but i also think that the movie was enjoyable.

For those who have not read the book you should probably go see the movie first and then read the book.
 :excited: :-) :shy:  :bleh:  :rasp:

After hearing the comments, i think i wouldn't wana go and watch :D I think that all the stuff inside this movie has already been seen in LOTR, like the special effects and stuff.

I haven't watched it yet either. But, many of my co workers at the bookstore where I worked hated the movie. But they loved the book. I know, Eragon is very Lord of the Ring-ish, but I dove right into the book expecting a work of Tolkein(LotR author). Then it just occured to me that Eragon was written by a teenager. So, most of us who are looking for something more adult, will find this story very played out and insanely cliched.

For starters, the book (which I just started reading two days ago) is very intensely fast-paced. There were descriptive imagery by the author, but I felt that the book was a little rushed. Not to mention two typos and the wrong use of speech that I found(:? I'm not sure if that was the author's intention) But if the book, in my opinion, felt rushed....I can't imagine what the movie would be like.

But, I'm a movie-lover, and a movie-watcher. Despite critics reviews, I will still watch the movie and judge it myself whether it is good or not. I can't rely on what everyone else says, we all have our preferences. So, when I finish this book(about two more days left to finish it) and watch this movie, I'll be back to give a more informative comment on this film.

overall,i don't like the storyline or maybe its the lord of the ring type movie. I feel its like the "mini" series of Lord of The Ring and Harry Potter movie combined together....:? the only positive factor i like is the sound and effects!

my 2 cents :wink2:

i haven't read the book but i was rather disappointed when i watched the movie. it was too rushed and so it's really short. TOO short. :worry:

but Ed was great as Eragon and i think he was really good for a newcomer. haha. plus i just love Rachel Weisz as Saphira's voice. :D

To tell you guys the truth, I didnt really liked it. It's abit "rushed in" into the story with a small amount of suspense and twists. But the special effects and acting is pretty good. And yeah it seems like a grind with Harry Potter, with its magic and fantasy theme, and Lord of The Rings, the war theme.

Well I like the movie personally, although I think people that read the book didn't really like it because they cut out a bit too much stuff. On the other hand, people that didn't read the book thought it was great in my school =].

Ya, Edward is pretty good-looking. the animation for Saphira is pretty good. I'm told the book is a TON better and the movie skipped a lot of things. The movie was ok for me, at times it was too cheesy.

I think Eragon isn't bad, and... yeah, Edward is cute. The animation for Saphira is really good, and since I never read the book, i dunno how diz movie compared to the book
