[B]Biography

TVfXQ (Tong Vfang Xien Qi), also known as 동방신기, 東方神起, and Dong Bang Shin Gi/Ki, is a five-member male K-pop group, which sings a cappella. They have debuted in South Korea, Japan, Taiwan and China. The five members are, from eldest to youngest, Kim Jae Joong (김재중 or HERO 在中), Jung Yun Ho (정윤호 or U-know 允浩), Park Yoo Chun (박유천 or Micky 有天), Kim Jun Su (김준수 or Xiah 俊秀) and Shim Chang Min (심창민 or MAX 昌珉).

The meaning of 'Dong Bang Shin Gi' is 'Gods Rising from the East'. This five-member dance team is made up of mere high school students who auditioned for stardom. Each member has proved his excellent talent in singing as well as dancing. This came to a successful creation of the boy band.

The boys were put in different groups among peers and other trainees in their training to be selected for the group, which was already named as Dong Bang Shin Gi. The best were chosen to be put into the group Dong Bang Shin Gi and the following were chosen.

The first to join was Kim Jun Su (김준수) who was merely 12 at that time; he was brought into the program through a TV show looking for new talent. He continued on to train for six more years to debut under the name of Xiah Junsu (시아준수). (Xiah is Asia without the "Ah" sound in Korean)

The next member to join, Jung Yun Ho (정윤호), won his audition through a dance competition. However, he was no amateur. He had tasted stardom as a backup dancer and rapper for K-pop singer Dana. His chosen stage name is U-know Yunho (유노윤호) (because when you say Yunho real fast, it sounds like U-know in English).

Kim Jae Joong (김재중), like Tamaki Nami (the Japanese pop singer), left his hometown to audition for SM Entertainment and debut under the name a fortune teller foretold years before: YoungWoong JaeJoong(영웅재중). He is also known as Hero, the translation of YoungWoong (영웅).

Shim Chang Min (심창민), one of the youngest to audition, passed the try-outs with flying colors. He joined the band on the name of ChoiKang ChangMin (최강창민) (the English counterpart to his stage name is Max).

Six months prior to the group's debut, a new member was added. The American Park Yoo Chun (박유천) changed his name to Micky YooChun (믹키유천). Originally, YooChun's English name was Micky, so he chose his English name to be part of his stage name.

carrying out the role of the "big brother" with Yunho. He gives the
most criticisms to the members regarding music. Jaejoong has deep thoughts and
talks straight-forwardly. His neat and tidy personality is portrayed in
the dorm they live in. Cleaning every corner of the house is blatantly
a part of this trait, but he also is interested in cooking and feeds
everyone in the group. For this reason, he is the 'mother' of the group. He has exceptional cooking skills and can prepare 15 kinds of dishes easily. He won the best-looking award from SM, and is a pretty boy, but his hobby is weight
training -- he has a great, masculine body in contrast to his feminine
face. Jaejoong is interested in people's relationships and likes to love.

Jung Yun Ho

Real Name: Jung Yun Ho (정윤호)

Born in 1986, he is also an aquarius like Jaejoong. He is the team's leader and
the bass vocal part of the group. Having too many thoughts being a
distinctive character trait of an A-blood type, Yunho also carries
this trait. He won the Best Dancer award from SM and is the most talented
in dancing. His hobby is to choreograph. Yunho has experience as a rapper
from Dana's 1st album song, Diamond. He likes to play basketball, and
is talented in martial arts (hap ki do), for he placed 3rd in a contest. On the other hand, he enjoys writing fictional stories and has diverse thoughts.

A gemini born in 1986, he has the middle-low vocal part of the group.
Along with Xiah, he is the middle voice of the group. He is an important
figure that brightens up the mood and atmosphere with his funny
personality. Perhaps he couldn't hide his talent even when he was
little, for he won the highest award at the Korean/American Music
Contest and the KBN Music Contest for young adults. Yoochun is very interested
in composing and he's written over 100 songs, and the members personally like
his songs the best out of the ones the members composed. He joined the team and left his family in America, and he admits that he sometimes misses driving around Virgina. But he says that this moment, right now, is the happiest of his life.

On the other hand, he makes a 180 degree change on stage and performs
with great charisma. Junsu maintains order and balance in the group when they
face difficulty. Possibly because of his long 6 year training, he is
very empathetic and thinks a lot about people's feelings. He plays the
piano well and is very poetic -- he enjoys writing poems. One of his
dreams in life is to have his writing published into a book. One of his
motivations in his singing career is the unachieved dream of his mother
who once dreamed of being a star.

An aquarius born in 1988, his blood type is B. He is greedy when it comes

Because his parents are teachers, he is also very competitive and tries
very hard at schoolwork and reading. Though the youngest in the group,
he is the most modest and has the deepest thoughts. He can be honest and
blunt when he strongly believes that something should not be done.
Though shy at first, he is a very bright boy when you get to know him
well. He followed his friend to an SM contest and luckily won the Best
Singer award.

One of a member from Taiwanese girl group, "Hei Se Hui Mei Mei", Mi En, claimed that Youngwoong Jaejoong interested in her and is going after her. She wrote in her blog that TVXQ's member, Jaejoong is currently going after her and she even posted a picture of her kissing Jaejoong. Many Jaejoong/ / TVXQ fans got really mad and they're going against this girl with all the international fans.

She wrote in her blog, "It was a magnificant day, the day we met, adding a different memory in my life... everything you've done for me, I'll accept it~ Being friends is the best choice for both of us!" Showing that Jaejoong is going after her but she's rejecting Jaejoong.

She's currently in Hong Kong now for some activities, and she made a Christmas wish in front of the camera saying that, "Hope Jaejoong's parents are healthy, Hero, Love you!"

The girl wrote in her blog saying that she was in her friend's night club in Warner Business Center and she met Jaejoong outside the washing room. According to her, Jaejoong was flirting with her and Jaejoong wanted her to introduce any nice night club in Taiwan, so she brought Jaejoong to her friend's night club.

She added, "In the beginning, I didn't know that he's from TVXQ, I noticed it later on." She even said that Jaejoong gave her 4 pictures. "When I took out my purse, Jaejoong saw a card with my opicture and said it was cute, so he decided to give me his pictures."

She said she was shocked that the fans are really angry, and she said in her blog that they are just friends.

Then, she deleted everything she wrote previously.

I wouldn't be surprised if they chatted and everything, but somehow I don't think that he'd go after her. And even if he did, why would she write all about it? Most artists hint that someone's going after them, but most of the time they don't specify or anything to avoid having to deal with fans and the media too early.

I think it's a heck of a dumb move on her part. No smart person would purposely go out of their way to say that they have a chance with TVXQ...it's pretty much a death wish. Cassiopeia isn't mature enough to handle any of the boys dating right now...to be honest there is someone who I think looks great with Yunho and I have a sneaking suspicion that they like each other, but they won't do anything any time soon. I have a feeling yesasia hiked up the price as they have a $25 free shipping promo. the photobook is huge and heavy so maybe they added some money for shipping? I suggest you let your friend in korea buy it for you. Everything is cheaper there, except for CDs which is at par with yesasia.

Yupp, they became so popular in Msia that the Japanese songs and Korean songs' charts here are conquered by them. One of our local radio here has a programme dedicated to Japanese and Korean songs and they have this weekly music charts (which depends on the votes from the listeners) and the boys never fail to be in the top 3. Sometimes, 2 of their songs are in number 1 and number 2 respectively :glug:
I think the boys and Bi are the only 2 Korean artistes at the moment that have their albums produced in Msia too...

The Korean fans are really frustrated with this and while them being in Korea or Japan doesn't make any difference to me, I do prefer their Korean songs to some extent.. The members will have 20 days vacation from January 1st.
SM allotted TVXQ with this vacation so that they can jump up to the better work in this year.
On Jan.24, they will release a single in Japan, so they will go to Japan in the mid January.

I've been in China(Beijing to be more exact) ...with unstable internet connection b/c of the earthquake in Taiwan... and oogling at random DBSK stuffs ...there was this corner shop in one of the malls that had all the calendars (but illegal, I think...)...seemed that none of the big stores I went to had Korean DBSK albums or singles...:dry: ...but the Japanese singles are cheaper than what they are on yesasia :happy:
...anyhoos.. got the Prague photobook, a couple magazines, some other random stuff... a bunch of memories... and and spent 2.5 weeks trying to find version C or D of the 3rd album..and ended up with only ONE DBSK single (Rising Sun JP ver.) :dry: <<*extreme lack of shopping skills*
HK sounds so much better tho... heard that it's more fun shopping there...hehe now I wanna go to HK too :D

Yea, I've read the news of their world tour:

The five-man band TVXQ will hold 14 tour concerts in seven Asian cities--Seoul in Korea, Beijing and Shanghai in China, Taipei in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Bangkok in Thailand, and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, according to its agency SM Entertainment on Monday.

Ohh it's good. :happy: CD of course, & on the DVD there are a bunch of old & new MV's included, with them talking about each MV before [no subs though if I remember correctly >__<].. making of Balloons MV [no subs if I remember correctly again].. 'exclusive code' video where they talk about the numbers on their outfits & stuff [with Eng subs].. etc. Trading cards with the boys in their 'cute outfits' [bot their 'hot outfits xD] are included instead of a photo booklet. Then there's the track list + lyrics & that's all I think.
I got the Korean version, not sure if they made other versions for version D but yeah.. I'm not sure if the subs are included or not though, I'll go watch the DVD again to check. :]

I did not know that their vacation was cut short. That's really stupid...I'd actually rather not see them for the next three months if I could. Fans aren't always easily distracted...like for example with Shinhwa...when they were out of the spotlight for awhile fans went to TVXQ, and then afterwards when they came back the fans went right back to Shinhwa.

I am uber excited for the Concert DVD...I actually haven't been this excited for a release for quite awhile....I guess we'll have to go to fancams if we want to see Changmin's racy little dance number. I also looooovvve the fact that there are BTS footage...sometimes I think that I like the background footage even more than the concert hahaha

May My favourite Vacation episode was actually Yuchun's. I had a bit of an idea for why it was all happening but the very ending was still a bit of a surprise and the episode was just so sentimental. Yunho's I figured out the plotline 2 weeks after the release of Vacation and Jae's made no sense to me. Changmin's and Junsu's was cute and it comes in a close second. But I still love Yuchun's because I think that the plot and the emotions were brought out pretty well.

I thought Yunho's was ok..but it had a lot of those drama cliches. and for Yoochun, I thought his acting was the best and the 'Nan arayo' scene with little Yoochun overloaded my tiny brain :-)
and what annoyed me after watching Vacation was realizing that in every episode, some female character gets/is sick and some point in the polt revolves around it :dry: ...SM really needs better scriptwriters for their next drama thingy...

I am uber excited for the Concert DVD...I actually haven't been this excited for a release for quite awhile....I guess we'll have to go to fancams if we want to see Changmin's racy little dance number. I also looooovvve the fact that there are BTS footage...sometimes I think that I like the background footage even more than the concert hahaha

For me, my fave would be Junsu and Chang Min's episode. It's just too funny and at the same time a bit sentimental too :rolleyes: Yunho's episode is a bit heartbreaking to me. I initially thought I'd love Jae's episode (since I love him so much :D ) but I didn't ^^ People have always said that Jae looks like a girl but when he dressed as a girl in that episode, I find him looking better as a guy :laughing:
Yoochun's episode is good too but in the beginning, I thought the guy who played the character of little Yoochun is a girl :shy:

Here some recent news on TVXQ, but it's not good news T_____T

TVXQ!'s concert ticket reservation, server crashed

300,000 people accessed the ticket sale site "Interpark" on January 15 at 9 pm for ticket reservations of the "TVXQ! The 2nd ASIA TOUR CONCERT 'O'". Because of this, the site's server went down. "250,000 people accessed the site during the group's previous concert that made the server also go down. Although we have prepared thoroughly this time, the server was not able to support 300,000 people who rushed in the site", an Interpark personnel explained.

36,000 tickets for TVXQ!'s concert from February 23 to 25 at the Seoul Olympic Park Gymnastics Dome have already been sold out.

TVXQ! is presently in Japan for the promotions of their new single "Step By Step", which will be released on January 24.

TVXQ has seen its DVD ¡°All About TVXQ¡± become the best-selling DVD in 2006 with sales of 47,186 copies.

Since the five-man group previously recorded the most sales for its records and concert tickets as well as won the most awards at year-end music award shows, the new achievement only helps prove that it is the most popular group in Korea.

The results have particular significance because the music DVD left behind numerous film DVDs to top the chart. And its sales are likely to increase since foreign license sales have not been included yet.

WORLD PEACE WITH HERO! (HERO's BIRTHDAY EVENT)

Hello, everyone.
This is a report on what HS did on Hero's birthday.

To make Hero's birthday very valuable day, we visited Myungjin Orphanage which TVXQ visited
in the end of 2004. One of Hero's fan iis running a bakery, so with her help,
we baked Chocolate mufin and delicious cookies.
And then we pack them with beautiful ribbons.
It took a lo~~~ng time to pack them as pretty as they look,
so we stayed up all night to finish it by today.
(we all are students or workers, so we had no time during day,
and we met in the evening. And it turned out that the work needs a lot more time than we expected.)
Anyway, we made the simbolic 126 sets of cookies at last!

We all did this only for Hero, praying his happy birthday!

After all the preperation, we went to the orphanage, and shared the presents with
cute young children. We pray for their happiness as much as Hero's....

Now, you will see the cookies, which were all baked by ourselves!!

Sofi, I agree. Heroshock is one of my fave unofficial FCs from SK. They are thoughtful enough to share the things that they did in SK with us. I always love their English translated info and news! :D
Their Kr concert tour will start on 23rd Feb - 25th Feb.. No other dates have been set for other Asian countries yet.. Their Japan tour starts in May... I just read that their Asia tour will be from this year till April 30th next year! :glug:

TVXQ Joins Tokyo Disney Concert

The five-man band TVXQ has given a performance at the Tokyo Disney Sea in Japan, along with popular Japanese band TRF.

Japan¡¯s Sankkei Sports Daily said Tuesday that the two top bands from Korea and Japan participated in a live concert held at the Disney on Monday.

According to the paper, the concert was organized to celebrate the release of the album ¡°Club Disney 2007,¡± in which the two groups sang a song. In the concert, they performed ¡°All of Your Life¡± with famous Disney characters such as Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck

TRF¡¯s DJ KOO said, ¡°At night, the Disney Sea was like a big disco club. I was very happy to see everyone there enjoying themselves.¡±

The event continued through Tuesday.

xiah0118 - this might be too late, but I think there is an official hardcover but its pricey --around $60 USD :O I don't know which one yesasia has (I think they have both?), but I've seen scans of the hardcover and it comes with a load of DBSK goodies :drool: ...not to mention that the photobook itself seems pretty thick..although you might want to check the dimensions before ordering since it might not be the size you expect it to be when you get yours
I personally have an (un?)official softcover one, but I got it from China for about $3USD and the quality isn't as good as my other official photobook produced from SM ent :?
and add the fact that yesasia prices have been going up :-x

Well, some of the scans aren't AMAZING, but good enough for me. :D They're pretty big. Most of them are about the size of the picture in my last post and high-quality. Some are smaller and grainier.

I got the link from the TVfXQForever forums, but if you don't have an account there you can't access it.. the pictures all say 'tvxqcn.com' on them though, so maybe you can try there?

Okay I just checked the site for you.. apparently it's the boys' Chinese fan club site.. if you click TVXQ -> Photos -> Prince in Prague, it takes you to a Clubbox page where you can download it I think. [Clubbox doesn't work for me so not sure]
