Guys & gals, I just wanted to inform you that the User Note functionality is enabled on this board.

User Notes is just a private space to write comments about members. To access it, you have to click on the person's name to go to their user profile.

What is the purpose of User Notes?
Nothing spectacular...just like how people like receiving comments on their blogs, this is another way to send someone a message that everyone else can see.

Some uses include:

1). Sending birthday wishes, or other congratulatory type comments

2). For mods, you can enter notes about why a person wanted to be banned (taking exams), so others aren't wondering "ZOMG!!1 why was so-and-so banned?!"

And so on...

Who can use User Notes?
- Registered Users+ and above can post notes for other members AND themselves. --strike that, I don't want ppl posting notes about themselves. I fear ppl will post random comments to up their "comments count"

- Once you post a note, you can edit or delete it

- You CANNOT edit or delete notes posted about YOU. If you want a posted note deleted, either contact the person who posted it, or a moderator.

How can you view user notes posted about yourself?
Per the screenshot above, you have to access your own user profile (tip: Click you name on the Who's Online list on the forum home).

OR find a post you made and click on your name, the dropdown should have a link to your profile. I'll add an option to the dropdown that will take you directly to user notes and the profile snapshot under your avatar.

I've noticed that I can't edit my notes that I post on other people's profiles. Is there a reason why? Sometimes I type the codes in manually and I screw up without realising (because there's no preview option) and when I try to edit, I can't. Now that poor user as an ugly note

Yes me too...sometimes I make spelling mistakes and I want to fix it like I always do in regular threads but I noticed that I can't do it...why??

Thanks in advance guys!!.
