Tell them, Jay Chou. I think they know him. hehe. Just tell him he's Chinese, tapos 2 CDs iyong packaging since it includes a VCD with Yi Fu Zhi Ming and Shuang Dao vid.

You can always look sa new realease or sa pop section nila.

try ongpin, they sell hidden track and other album compilations of jay but it's pirated. they also sell jay's the one concert in dvd and altho it's pirated, it's still clear.

anyway, i really wish jay will visit the philippines soon.

anyway my cousin bought jay's the one concert in ongpin and it doesn't look pirated AT ALL. it has box pa and everything. and it only costs P200. aside from ongpin, i don't know where else they sell jay chou CD's but when i see a store selling jie lun's stuff, i'll let ya know :D

Where did I find out about Jay Chou? :hmm: It was July and I was at a friend's house who's overly obsessed with F4 and I happened to be watching MTV Mandarin and I saw his "Yi Fu Zhi Ming" video, from there I got hooked. :wink2: I have big respect for artists who compose their own music and Jay is uber talented. :wink2:

i troop to ongpin, mei-ah to be exact for my jay chou purchases. i bought Ye Hui Mei there for P250... the lyrics sheet, the cd design really looked like the real thing (i think it's what my friend in china calls the 2nd class cds)... i got a dvd of the one; fortunately it was clear naman :happy: i was suppossed to get the original jay music cds when i went to hk but they're quite pricey and since i already had them in pirated copies, i opted to get hidden track instead. sulit naman, especially with all his Ye Hui Mei videos included. :happy:


a couple of weeks back went to Pbcom in ongpin. right outside it is a magazine vendor selling mostly Chinese entertainment and fashion mags, including sisters. i got the very last copy of sisters with jay on the cover for P195. :)

for other artists, yep, i recommend david tao... he was labeled as the prince of r&b right before lee hom and jay entered the picture. he's in his early 30's and not too good-looking, but his music is really goood... he's also an american born chinese. lee hom's latest album has good songs too.
the rate in mei-ah is usually P100 per disc for music albums. i think vcds go for P150 per double disc and dvds go for P250. they also have a good selection of movies both in vcd and dvd format. those with english subtitles sell for P350; those without for P150. the original ones, with really good packaging can go for P400 and up. you may also try this music store along narra st (with petron in the corner; a block away from tutuban mall). prices are almost 50% cheaper than mei-ah's prices but the quality of the cds (at least packaging-wise) is not so good; choices are also limited.

i think i got the very last one. don't worry, you can try the small shops there selling magazines and chinese newspapers. they sell sisters at a cheaper price. i only checked one, the shop near bee tin grocery, but they didn't have any copy left. it's sisters mag no. 761. good luck! :happy:

hi, i've been a lurker for quite a while now...anyway, i got my fantasy album from music one greenbelt and YHM at odyssey...i'm trying to beg really hard for my brother to let me use his credit card so i can buy more jay stuff online...is yesasia okay? i haven't tried ordering online before so i was wondering if they're good.

Their site is secure. The shipping is costly considering they're shippng it just from HK which is relatively near but their shipping fees are standard for other parts of the world (which includes us).

If you do choose 2 weeks shipping which is more practical, it does arrive after 2 weeks. :oops:

Anyway, one tip, if you're going to buy from yesasia buy it directly from this site so you'll help Jay-chou.net as well. :wink2:

basically it's only YHM that's being sold on our local stores. Sometimes you get lucky and find jay CDs on Music One. But it's very rare, since it's on the import section.

i think all the music cds there are pirated - just the ones with better quality. (or as what my shanghai-based friend says, "low-quality cds") they look acceptable on the outside, with the cd booklet and all but man, when you take a look at the lyrics, they're all over the place! :oops:

for the vcds though, they have original copies... but they cost around 3-4 times their actual prices in hk or taiwan

I know we should buy the real ones but it's so hard to find real JAy Chou stuff here in MAnila. I remembered when I went to Odyssey, I asked the sales lady for the Jay Chou CD and she told me na "wala po, we only have F4 and 5566". But the thing is my friend saw the CD beforehand, so I didnt lose hope and looked for the CD myself (which I did see!) and practically shoved it in her face (the sales lady) so to speak!! at music1 greenbelt they used to have a lot of stuff there. in rower records glorietta, wla na masyado. before they had lots of stuff. pero hikki utada is mainstream na here in the philippines. you can buy them in any record store...yung kay jay lang yung mahirap...best place to scout while you're still pondering about the online thingie is mei ah. it's in ongpin, sta. cruz side. u can get off at sta.cruz church and enter ongpin from that side. you just have to walk a little from the entrance and then you wouldn't miss mei ah...and up ahead meiah, is anjieson...basta along ongpin road lang yun.

You are very lucky there in Thailand! At least his Panasonic ads & CMs are all over Bkk. Here, he is unknown--most probably only the Chinese Filipinos know him and his albums are only available in Chinatown! Although a local music channel has played his MVs from the Ye Hui Mei album, that is why YHM was sold in record stores for a limited time!

The Philippines is still crazy over F4 :crazy: but Korean dramas are also popular here! Music-wise, only the f4 have been successful to penetrate the local market because of the Meteor Garden fame. By the way, Tata Young because of her english album, is currently doing well here too!

The Filipinos here in JCnet are trying our best to spread his music! We share his CDs to our friends & colleagues! :D :wink2:

I was watching the blue power concert nun, then may performance si jay dun, yung mga first performances, nde ko masyadong pinansin, im not into rock and stuff. Then, he sang an jing while playing the piano. I was hooked. I like acapella and piano. Plus I can really feel the emotions that he poured out while singing the song. Tapos kinanta pa nya in tune of "I Believe" na galing sa OST ng My Sassy Girl. Iba talaga. So what I did was to find info about him, and then about the song. Tapos tuloy tuloy na. When I went to Singapore, bili ako ng konting stuffs. Sayang nga, nde ko na binili lahat. Nanigurado lang me, baka maubusan ako ng pera at at ang laki ng ni withhold sa credit cards ng hotel pang guarantee. Sana makapunta na lang ako sa mei-ah one of these days, wala na kasi sa odyssey yung YHM.

yup, Ongpin is the best place to get your more than avergae dose of Jay CDs.... actually, i've been visiting there almost everytime when i go to Manila. hehehe.... (scouting for new CDs....) and what they have there are great finds! In Mei-Ah, they sell single CDs for 180, and P200 for the double CDs,.... pero visit ka rin ng Anjieson, they sell double CDs for P150 only. and what's sooo nice about it pa nis may box and may booklet pa sa loob! Ganda talaga. Ü

hello! long time i havent posted here. anyways, it's currently 4:36 am (yes, that's am) and im still busy working in the office :( break time muna...

just want to share with you guys...i saw lots of jay posters (yung metersbonwe ata yon) in filbars!!! i counted and it was around 10 posters. i got 3 on the spot. if i had cash on me that day, i would have bought all!!! unfortunately, havent been back there to hoard the rest of the posters!! :) it's P150/poster.

my friend's mom is now in hk. i couldnt decide which jay concert to buy..the dvd or the vcd..i ended up asking my friend's mom to buy me the vcd version coz it contains a concert photo album. it costs around P900+. so excited. she goes back this tuesday!!! maybe if i get my bonus in may and know someone going to hk, il buy the dvd version naman! (hehe. obsessed jay fan).

i also bought the jay live concert cd+7lx mv cd+grandeur photobook a few weeks ago from yesasia. super sulit. jay looks so good in the pics and the live concert cd are filled with lyrics and some hot jay pics. but the whole package costs alot! mga 3000+pesos ata gastos ko (including the customs and taxes, etc..) but he's worth it so okay lang :)

anyway, VCD is more worth it. I've got the DVD and seen the VCD. and the DVD's behind the scenes is so not worth it. The VCD's album is very lovely and the packaging is beautiful. So you made the right decision.

Surprisingly, MTV Philippines and Myx played Yi Fu Zhi Ming (In The Name Of The Father) back then. Myx in particular gave it frequent airing thanks to the Asian Invasion that swept the country courtesy of the F4 phenomenon. That's how I began to like Jay's music. I'm glad that there are a lot of Filipinos who are actually into Jay's songs, i'm also a Filipino and I stayed in Taiwan for 3 years (OFW :whistle: ), that's when I heard and knew a few things about Jay...

I love all his music and it's all worth listening... though i may not understand all what he's saying, i can definitely feel his emotion by listening to his songs...

I only have Jay's Incomparable Concert in Taipei (DVD), original copy which I bought in Jhongli... and I will trying my best to complete all his album and movies...
