LOL I watched the girls' one yesterday, but I was kinda bored. Cos I'm more comfortable with guys' voices :bleh:

Anyway, I thought the judges were really nice yesterday. Except for the last comment that Xu Huan Liang made about that girl's figure. Can't remember her name :X But even though I didn't really understand the song, I thought she brought it out nicely :D

Woah the judges gave quite high scores this year! I remembered last year if you can hit 30 in the early stages means you're VERY GOOD. But I think the standard's not bad, as in the overall standard is good compared to last year where some contestants were obviously weaker.

I'm super shocked too! I mean Veron is like 1 of the few female contestants with a powerful voice. And SHiyu, I thought he should have garnered quite a bit of supporters after the Cai2 Hua2 contest.. sad..
The remaining guys not so goodlooking lei haha..
I thought Jon's voice was quite good, quite clear. But he chose the wrong song..

I was real sad for Veron. Not like she's lousy or what and to exit at this stage is such a let-down to their efforts. :worry:

For Shiyu, he actually did quite alright but I kinda expected him to exit pretty early since most people don't seem to like him for taking part in so many competitions. Pre-fame may not be good afterall.

Gosh.. Shiyu is out?? I thought he should already have a huge fan-base since people already knew him right from the start.. Anyway, i think he did alright for that song last night, and he got quite a good score from the judges..

And, the hosts did mention that, there might be no revivals this season? Well.. its such a pity for those who are good and is kicked out...

Just look at Kelly and Weijian.. they are both in the revivals and now they have come out with their own albums.. :D

I've seen Junyang in school before but that's before he got the haircut. my impression of him is .. boyish lah. maybe that's why Jon looks oldish. but then i can't bear to listen to him leh... Did the judges say wrong choice of song?

And Veron... What's wrong with Singaporeans anyway???!!!! Always voting off those that are very very good. THey always have this stubborn mentality : "Don't worry lahZ, Those very very good ones definitely will have people to vote them one."

In the end, this is what happened... ... So injustice!!!!

I feel so heartpain for the guys, so all of them are actually very very good! Actually, I feel that the standards of the guys in PSS 2 is actually better than PSS 1, they can really sing very very well so early in the competition.

I hope that the QF 2 next week won't have similar incidents like this week... If not, it'll be worthless to watch already...

I was shocked when I saw the results yesterday, I didn't expect Veron and Shi Yu to be out at this early stage as Veron perform really well and different from other female contestants and Shi Yu looks good on the tv and he was an actor on tv a long time ago, so I thought he should has gained quite a reputation and some fans a long time ago.

Haizz, I felt so sorry for them, this kind of situation always happen in the singing competitions, hope they can get back to the competition at the revival round.

Next week's competition looks very interesting, I wonder who will be kicked out next week, can't wait to see the male contestants performing next week...

I was quite disappointed with the results as well, quite surprised that Shiyu is out. I thought his singing was quite good and i think he got the idol quality.

It is such a pity, can't watch him sing on stage anymore.

For the female contestants, didn't manage to catch the competition, But from the result show, I thought Mag did ok as well. She is the type that got character.

anyway today's superstar was BORING! :oops: everyone was like no 'bao fa li'. only towards the end then i woke from my sleep. lol no. but towards the end it was a lot better, especially DIYA! she's good... sheila was fine during the duet but the solo. :oops: lingyi is really full of energy too~

pearlie: I didn't manage to catch the first 2 girls but I liked Diya and Lingyi. Sheila's kinda fakey to me, I don't like her articulation. While F3 (I forgot her name) is pretty but her voice is really just so-so. Looking forward to the guys tomorrow.

I kindda like Diya and Michelle. They are pretty good considering this is only their first performance. Lingyi is good, but hmm somehow she doesn't really appeal to me. :tongue:

I didn't like Shelia and Hejing's voice. Shelia has this ku qiang as what Xu Huan Liang mentioned. And Hejing's voice is too weak.

Lingyi is so cheery and bubbly, which makes me really happy when I see her perform (: Diya makes me feel that she's sincere. I have no idea why! I see this fire/drive in her, like as if she wants to win this so badly! Haha. Sheila's voice is quite "ci er" （刺耳）

I am surprised that LingYi was out as well. I really disappointed with the results in this season's PSS. I personally think that some of the eliminated people really deserved to stay in the competition and not be eliminated just after one show. It is such a pity.....

Yeah, this week's guys were all better than last week's. i can only say that they're in the wrong group. but the two better singers from last week were voted out so actually. i don't know what's wrong with this season of PSS. either those crazy fans have really gone crazy or... people are starting to be unable to differentiate good from bad.

I'm officially rooting for her and Le Sheng.
Perhaps the elimination of LingYi is due to people's misconception of her being act cute, flirty etc? (I saw those comments a lot in the MediaCorp forums)

Anyway I find it amusing regarding Steven Lim's attack of Averil Chan.

Lingyi is just like 18-19 years old. It's a time to be bubbly, cute and full of dreams and energy... If she's out just because people think she act "cute" then i think it's really unjustified!

Le Sheng voice is good! Glad he's still in! Actually i would rather Dawn to be in than Averil. Dawn has character, she seems to be like those daring & confident kind of girl.

Can't blame Daren for being kicked out.... We all can see that this time round the standard of the competition is way higher than the First PSS...

The judges made it very clear that if you don't raise the level of the competition fast enough, other people will raise it and when that happen, you'll get kicked out... So, on the stage, it's really "It's either me or Him/Her!!!"

Anyway, this time round LE sheng raise the standard of competition really really high... Early in the competition he has already scored 41.5. I think his high scores, more or less put pressures on the other singers later on... THe stress is starting to MOUNT!!!

I tell you OMG when they first played her song on the radio I was already, OMG what kinda song is this.

When I saw the preview mv I almost died. Like what were they doing making her strip & showing her undergarments -.- That was GROSS.

& that image, that highschoolgirl image is like so out can. That was like a mixture of Cyndiwang&JolinTsai tenthousandyears ago. Plus that mv was basically nothing but xinhuey standing in front of the camera & singing & basically selling herself. URGH total disappointment.

With all the aunties and supporters from project superstar. He so doesn't deserve it. He can sing but he can't act.

And yes yes! I missed the 1st PSS.. had much more fun and excitement. I think cos this year they cut short the whole thing, we can't get to know more of the contestants - see so fast top 8 already..Just don't like PSS2 as much as PSS1..but i still like how the judges comment.. i thought their comments are more fun to watch then the contestants themselves haha

After seeing the female's performence yesterday, I kind of agree with what the Fang Zhong Hua judge said about been this year's superstar will be a male because I find the girls is much weaker than the males. I think the girls do need a lot more practice to win the males.

That wasn't a title song from Z Chen's album so no one knows much about that song.

He made that song so hot that time. 93.3FM started playing that song after he sang at the revivals.

The superstars that have the contact are the winner, kelly, Jun Yang, Xin Hui and Derrick. That time the 2 music companies, Universal and Play music, had decided to gave contact to both female and male winner and also another superstar of their choice and Derrick joined play music with Xin Hui.

I think the Singapore voted for the right person to be revival, I like Carrie's voice very much, but its really hard to decide for Ming Yao and Daren and at the end Daren got to be revival.

Wow.. Zhang Lesheng's voice is good! And I think he has quite a few supporters. besides, he;'s really telented! He's written so many many songs for those TCS / Mediacorp dramas! But ok i have to agree his looks aren't that fantastic. But look at last year's Superstar : Weilian didn't have the best looks but still won. SO it's really hard to say...

But I have a feeling Diya may go quite far. She has this X factor and her rather powerful vocals and cool stage presence. As for winning, not so sure, probably a guy will get it (but don't know who)..

Hmm, I was thinking 43 is really abit too high for his performance. I do agree its great though.

If I didn't remember wrongly, Li Fei Hui gave him 7.5 for his performance. The lowest points out of the 5 judges. Wei Song gave him a 8.5 which is by far the highest points he ever gave for a contestant.

The guys are arguably better than the females. It's really hard to judge them now as the remaning few are not bad.

For the females, it seems like Diya's going to win it. Well I hope she does, as she has the best vocals out of all of them.

i thought pssII was realli boring. hmm daren got the highest cuz he managed to dance and sing as compared to others who just stand and sing. so the judges like that. now the only contestant with ''champion look'' is most prob Diya. cuz she's got charisma.

Its a little more boring because there's not much competitive feeling among the contestants.. I guess most of them are rather weak. The only stronger contenders are Diya & Daren.

i was thinking about the first pss and the second pss contestants the other day and i was trying to compare & contrast.

the girls from the first pss, kelly and xinhui, even silver, can do so much better than the current top 3. even diya is nothing compared to kelly. she's not as consistent as kelly in the first place. and as for carrie & averil.. if diya is kelly, carrie would be xinhui and averil would be silver. YET, carrie is nowhere as strong as xinhui (man, if even stupid songs like from taipei to beijing can show her strong vocals, there's no way anyone can deny her singing prowess) and averil is nowhere as pretty as silver. only skinnier. :whistle: and no matter how bad silver sounded, at least she looked comfortable on stage. as for carrie, she's good and all, but her sour face turns people off and man, listening to her "wo yao kuai le" is the worst experience in the whole of pss cos i suddenly don't want to feel kuai le anymore but tong ku. :oops: i really cannot imagine anyone of them singing on the Singapore Indoor Stadium stage. really, diya seems like the best choice. but if you compare her to kelly, it's like :glug: .

okay now the guys. the top 3 guys from the first pss are... kelvin tan, junyang and dear old derrick. :D just thinking of them makes me smile. the only way pss2 is better than the first pss, is because of their dancing. nat and daren can easily do better than all of the pss1 guys put together. :laughing: but singing-wise. who else has such a distinctive voice as rick? who else sings so well and consistently as jy? who gets as much phone calls as kelvin? :rolleyes: alright that was being bad. kelvin's good but seriously, the sympathy votes are unfair to rick and jy. kelvin soon is like kelvin tan. rick and jy are like nat and daren. the two kelvins rely on only their voices to garner votes cos they don't have the looks. nat and daren are handsome dudes like rick and jy. but... sad to say, daren's voice doesn't have a distinctive quality. nat's has a little, but his vocals aren't as good. oh yah did i mention that kelvin is so fierce i'm scared of him and if i saw him in person i'd probably run away. :oops:

seriously, who can win? when you pit kelvin tan and jy together, it's like WOAAH strong competition. and kelly & xinhui? MAN those two do have what it takes. however, let's say the final two girls are diya and carrie (just an EXAMPLE). then you wonder... HUH? that's all that singapore can do? :oops:

anyways. singapore isn't as big as the states to have so many talent competitions. if one out of ten people are talented, look how many more talented people there are in big countries like china and the states. singapore... erm. we do have talented people, but not as many! there's no way we can have talent competitions SO FREQUENTLY and still find good people. :dry:

And, the only reason is the MDC is too eager to earn big bucks from the supporters' voting.. :oops:

Ju Hua Tai is not an easy song to sing. I hope he pulls through! I'm quite impressed that he chooses lots of new songs to compete!

Talking about PSS1, the girls are definitely so much better. Diya is good and with her more unique identity, she manages to shine more than the other female contestants. But yea, she still couldn't be compared to Kelly and Xin Huey.

Yeah that's what I think so. I haven't really seen Diya perform, but then from what I saw yesterdya, it was definitely not up to standard. I mean, Carrie definitely performed like how a finalist should, like during Kelly & Sinhuey's finals, but Diya was kinda disappointing, she like didn't shine as much as she should have, & her vocals weren't that good last night, including stage presence.

But like you said, Diya's popularity is really high. But then again, we never really know the final results :rolleyes:

Diya, represented by Fire, will have red as her colour, while Daren's, represented by Lightning, will be blue. Fans of the two are strongly urged to turn up in the respective colours!
The production crew has also planned spectacular stage effects for the Grand Final, including burning the stage!?!

The two finalists will go through five segments of competition where they will each perform one song of each of the following music genre: rock, unplugged, hip-hop, jazz/bossa nova and a personally selected pop song.

Malaysia’s latest successful musical export Gary Cao Ge, and the overall champions of Project SuperStar Singapore - Kelvin Tan Wei Lian, Project SuperStar Malaysia - Johnson Wee and Project SuperStar Vietnam - Phuong Trinh will grace the event and perform their hit songs.
Approximately half of the Top 24 contestants from Project SuperStar 1 will also be present. Confirmed attendees include Sing Chew Sin Huey, Hoh Wei Jian, Silver Ang, Jason Tan, Chia Wei Choong, Wendy Toh, Ruth Chua, Sugianto, William Tanoto, Chanel Pang, Sandra Ter, Lai Li Jun, Raymond Chua, Darryl Yong are confirmed attendees.
Campus SuperStar's Ng Chee Yang, Teresa Tseng, Renfred Ng, Geraldine See, Ng Imm Khim, Clara Tan, Hong Yu Yang, Chen Yi Yuan, Alejandro Hou and Yvonne Chua will also be the cheerleaders for the Top 2 finalists Daren Tan and Tan Diya. They will be under the (cheer)leadership of Charlyn Lin and Sim Yun Ying (for Diya), and Lee Teng and Pornsak (for Daren).
MediaCorp artistes Bryan Wang, Kang Chengxi, Dasmond Koh, Wu Luoyi and Nat Ho will be there as well.

Costumes:
Specially-designed and decorated outfits will be prepared for the two finalists for each different music segment. It’ll look more like a concert than just a competition, Shiong Chiang promised.

Results:
The results will be based entirely on votes from the public, though the five Project SuperStar judges (Billy Koh, Roy Li, Anthony Png, Dawn Yip and Li Weisong) will be present to dish out comments and also select the better finalist in each of the music segments.

Prizes:
The overall champion will receive a recording contract from Warner Music. Unlike last year, whether the first runner-up (or other contestants) will be offered contracts will be up to recording companies’ decision.

Firstly.. CONGRATULATIONS TO DAREN for winning the Project Superstar title.. U well deserves it!!! Great job!!!

As for Diya, she did well too.. actually both of them performed really well tonight.. I was so touched..
However.. I think her last outfit looks weird.. its like totally mis-matched.. pants with the "windows curtains".. But she looks pretty with that skirt when she sang "zhi fei ji"..
Daren is so suave when he sang "Sway".. aww.. so mesmerizing.. :shy:

Okay.. outfits aside.. I think both of them have improved tremendously in their singing.. they can do fast or slow tracks.. which is what a true superstar should be able to do.. Personally.. I like daren's slow tracks.. especially the "ji mo de ji jie" and the "tian tian ye ye" duet with diya..

As for the other performing artist.. my fave is Cao Ge.. he is so cute.. and was amazed when he come up with that "Superstar" song on the spot.. Bravo!!!

I think the Malaysian PSS guy is quite cute.. hmm.. what's his name?? :shifty:
As for the vietnam girl.. i think she must have felt really weird singing to a stadium of audience who can't understand a word she's singing.. :oops: and i can't stand it when she kept acting cute.. :rasp:
