Jay not compared to David Tao

Yesterday the 2nd MTV awards ceremony was completed in Singapore.
Actually Jay already arrived in Singapore ages ago to see Avril Lavigne's concert. Jay even praised her for singing well. Apart from this, in the awards ceremony the group Blue praised Jay for having good skill, understanding how to write songs, being cool and also knowing kung fu. They even pretended to be Jay with nun-chuks in the award ceremony. Jay frankly said that he was very happy.

Jay has defeated David Tao to become the "Most Popular Taiwanese Artist". But Jay truthfully said that he would not compare himself with David Tao. Instead they both are more comparatively focused on music, hoping that each other can make an effort for music.

Even though David Tao became the big loser in the awards ceremony, he truthfully said that he doesn't mind. Awards to him are not that important. Instead he thinks that Jay getting an award is the pride of Chinese people. He is very happy for Jay.

i feel bad for David Tao because he's a really good artist also. but cool Jay won!! he really does deserve it because he is so amazingly popular!

and the news also mentioned david saying he didn't mind being beaten by jay. he said,"It's all about popularity. It's easier to be the most popular singer than the best singer. How does one justify being the 'best' singer among so many? Jay Chou is more popular, so he got the award. That's how it is".
i think wat he said is very true.. and as long as we all know david IS the best, rite? hehe

thought david tao was quite arrogant though..i mean on one hand he said he didnt mind losing..then on another hand he says that jay is just more popular and not the 'best' in a way..

dunno i really admire his songwriting talent too..but read in some article that he said he feels now in the chinese industry there is not one who can sing r&b well so its his "DUTY" to do smthg about that before he goes into film industry which is what he loves too..seems quite smug or maybe just reading too much into it..his songs are good though..

o well.. i guess it's really hard to judge who's the best.. but i dun really think u can compare jay with david.. think david's music r more chinese in the western genre.. since he was an ABC.. jay's is more chinese fused wif R&B.. hehe juz my 2 cent's worth of thoughts.. but both r gd.. personally i prefer jay for his type of music n his attitude
