香港港台主辦的「十大中文金曲」頒獎典禮，提前於十二月十九日舉行。算是跨入2004年之前，先對今年兩岸 三地的流行歌曲做個總評比。港台計劃同時邀請到台灣三大音樂才子陶吉吉、王力宏與周杰倫，擔任演出嘉賓、同 台演出，已積極對他們所屬的台灣唱片公司提出邀約。
The date of the “Top Ten Chinese Golden Songs” Awards Ceremony that is organized by Hong Kong’s RTHK radio station has been moved up to December 19th. This can be said to be a final evaluation of the popular songs from the “two shores three places” (China, Hong Kong, Taiwan) before heading into 2004. RTHK is planning on inviting the 3 Gifted Musicians from Taiwan, David Tao, Leehom Wang, and Jay Chou at the same time, to be the musical guests and performing together on stage. They have actively proposed the invitation to their respective Taiwan record companies.

In the past, the RTHK “Top Ten Chinese Golden Songs” has been held after the Chinese New Year. But for the evaluation and awards for this past year’s popular songs, they have moved up the date of the ceremony this year. This is due to their hope to once again create hot topics for the music industry and provoke the air for album-purchasing prior to the Chinese New Year. Since in recent years, the popular Mandarin songs and compositions in Taiwan have been deeply affirmed by Hong Kong fans, leading to a trend of replacing Cantonese songs and becoming the mainstream music in the Hong Kong music industry; as a result, the organizers hope to invite the 3 excellent singer-songwriter music Small Heavenly Kings, David, Leehom, and Jay, to attend the awards ceremony together and also be the musical guests. Besides affirming their musical talent through this, at the same time, it would highlight the progress in the songwriting environment in recent years in Taiwan.
其實在台灣，周杰倫、王力宏與陶吉吉經常在宣傳通告中碰面，三個小天王非但沒有人才相忌的「瑜亮情結」，反 而多是互相交流、惺惺相惜，他們良性競爭後的進步與成長，也成為歌壇佳話。另外港台還希望請到王菲演出、對 抗癌症的梅豔芳擔任頒獎人。
Actually, in Taiwan, Jay, Leehom, and David often bump into each other at promotional activities. Not only do the 3 Small Heavenly Kings not have a “knot in their hearts” because of guardedness due to each other’s talent, but rather, they mostly interact with each other and admire each other. The progress and growth from their positive competition have also become the hot topic of the music industry. In addition, RTHK also hopes to invite Faye Wong to perform and the cancer-battling Anita Mui to be an awards presenter.
然而香港歌手最希望能由四家電台聯合舉辦一項公正性、代表性的音頒獎典禮，如今港台宣佈提前舉辦十大中文金 曲頒獎典禮，也表示香港歌手的希望落空，至少不會在明年實現。不過，今年港台將原來的六十位評審團擴張成五 百人，還請來CASH、IFPI、唱片總商會等專業音樂機構參與評審，就算暫時無法實現四台聯頒的「夢想」 ，還是期望至少在評選過程上，盡量做到公平透明，不致落人口舌。
However, the thing that’s most hoped for by the Hong Kong artists is to have the four radio stations jointly host a fair and representational music awards ceremony. Now tha
t RTHK has announced they will move up the date of the “Top Ten Chinese Golden Songs” Awards Ceremony, it also means that the hope of the Hong Kong artists will not be realized; at least it won’t happen in the next year. This year, RTHK has expanded the original number of judges from 60 to 500. They even invited CASH, IFPI, the Record Sales Association (?), and other professional music organizations to participate in the judging. Even though for now there’s no way to realize the “dream” of having the four radio stations jointly host an awards ceremony, they still hope that at least in the judging process, they can do their best to be fair and transparent so that there won’t be any kind of bad talk about it.
