I checked the forum and there is no thread about.. Coldplay.
They are a very good British rock band. Anyone here are a fan of them?

They are one of my all time fave band. Coldplay's song are nice, soft and not that rock like other rock band.They are more to soft rock.

My current fave song is Yellow and In My place.

I love Coldplay. I think piano rock just rocks.. I love Yellow too, haven't explored them very much (eeps) but I've heard some of their songs and the mood of it just moved me.

If you also like piano rock, check out Something Corporate. They're not bad. =)

Well, i'm not a fan of Coldplay but i love their In My Place and The Scientist..and..i think one of its member named Guy-he plays the bass- is pretty cute!One unfair thing that i noticed is that we always get to see just Chris Martin in most of the mvs..like in Yellow and The Scientist mvs but the rest are kinda like being ignored..well maybe it's becoz Chris is the most popular member..plus..he's the lead singer...well i dunno.I think the rest of the members should be featured more.

Coldplay...I like them. I love the "Parachutes" album (Yellow, Shiver) "A Rush of Blood in the Head" was good too. Most of their song are rather melancholic simple melodies (and gets stuck in your head real fast).

Chris Martin's vocals is very soulful. Ü

I think coldplay is pretty good, my favorite song so far would be Yellow. I think that's a song where you listen to it once and you'll like it. It's just different.

I still have much to explore for their music and I wished that I would of went to their concert when they were in my city. Oh well, I guess next time. My cousin went and he said that the concert was really good. Too bad I missed out.

i love coldplay..there's just so much talent in that band. I think my favorite song is The Scientist. such a great music video and the lyrics really get to me. coldplay is really different from mainstream music..i think that's what helps them stand out. it's nice music to fall asleep to.

In the "The Scientist" MV Chris Martin took time to memorize and sing the song backwards rather than technical reversing. I think that's pretty impressive! Imagine the effort he did for trying to memorize the song backwards!

He's dating Gwyneth Paltrow, right?

gosh, i love coldplay. they're so cool. i usually don't listen to soft rock that often, but coldplay have some of the coolest songs ever. my favorite songs right now are "god put a smile upon your face" (the melody's just... :angel: ) and "the scientist".

i'd love to go to one of their concerts. they've been to germany a couple of times, but unfortunately i haven't had the chance to go to any of them, cos their concerts usually sell out rather quickly. argh. :dry: maybe (i hope!) next time.Really? I wish they could come to Malaysia!
I will go then! I think they are on a tour again...next year I think.

yeah, let's hope that they'll be getting back on tour soon. i'm not really sure about this, but i heard that they're already working on their next album. so maybe we'll get a chance to see them live sooner than expected. :wink2:

Parachutes is better than A rush of Blood for me. I favor the songs there more. But A rush of Blood does have its highlights like the famed "the scientist"

I LOVE In My Place. Great song. They did a new version of it on the new album and that sounds great.. And Yellow is a cute song. They played it at my school dance and I was floating. ;D

But their song, "Clocks" are pretty fast..and it's quite good too. Besides that, In my place is another good song.

almost all of their songs are like those two. If you want the melancholic songs,try "Trouble". That one's really sad.:depresse:

i remember reading a recent interview with chris martin. he said that he's getting a little bored of the same old tunes, and he wants some major changes for the next album.

yah..i've only heard yellow,t eh scientist and another one but i didn't like it as much so i didn't d/l it...
i luv slow, depressing songs..i dunno why..i guess i think it has a lot of meaning to it...no what i mean? i luv songs like ath..that's y i like rock...metal's a little hard core for me but it depends...

you know how you use to hate this particular band and in the end you realize you'll like them as you're older? yeah, that's kinda what happened to me.. i used to think coldplay's lead singer martin was drunk..you can tell in the way he sings, don't you? doesn't anyone? so yeah, when you get older, you suddenly have this natural sense in you that tells you to appreciate music that you might not like but maybe will as you play the song again and again and start to understand the song's meaning. i have quite a number of songs by coldplay. i would suggest getting "yellow" (yes it's a good choice), "trouble" (my absolute favourite track), "in my place", and "clocks". honestly, i didn't find "the scientist" all that good of a song, even if it was one of their debut hit singles.. each one of us our entitled to opposing opinions anyway, right? :tongue:

the one ...yea i agree with you...i used to hate them coz the lead singer was like..looking like a retarded when he sing...especially in those live concerts...but as i grew older i slowly realised that its not retarded at all...its just a deeper physical expression of inner thoughts....

haha i agree with u pple here! i hated the song yellow at first! the radio and mtv channel kept playing it.. but after listening to a few times, i loved it a lot! n i bought their album n loved their songs!! i thought they were a very different band from the usual US hard rock or metal or noisy bands (sorry ah.. to those who like such music..), and their music just gives such a soothing or calm feeling haha.. other than the song politik all these la..

btw, has any coldplay fan heard their newest song speed of sound? i thought it was very very good! but it sounds like clocks.. rsther similar.. can't wait for theirnext album!! =)

yay!!! coldplay! they are one my fave rock bands. i first heard 'yellow' and thought it was one of the most annoying songs ever becasue they kept on playing it over and over on the radio, but then it really got to me after a while and i really like it now!! hehehe...my other fave songs are 'god put a smile on your face' because i just love the guitar intro to it! and i also like 'trouble' and 'the scientist'....their songs are so catchy they can sometimes get stuck in my head for days! lol...
has anyone heard the chinese version of 'yellow'?...its really nice!....it was on a soundtrack..can't remember.....but i fink it should be in the house somewhere!....lol

omg! i thought i was the only one who hated yellow at first LOL but it just grew on me and by now iit has become of my all-time faves.
and yenny! yes Speed of Sound is good.. reminds me of Clocks (my TOP coldplay favorite!!) as well in fact i think the guys meant it this way.. for Speed of Sound to be the bridge betw their last album and their next, X&Y. can't wait for the album arghhhh.

i think its not bad but for some reason none of the songs really captivated me the way Clocks, Yellow, or The Scientist did.
X&Y, What If and Fix You are probably my favourites off the album. the rest are still growing on me.

Their music is really cool. I love their Parachutes album best :happy:

I never really paid much attention to COldplay until I did a fundraising event at one of their concerts and I got to be on the floor monitoring everyone at their seats and basically got to watch the whole concert for free!! They are really good live and their music is totally growing on me..my current favs are clocks, speed of sound, shiver, talk, and scientist..there are so many! defnitely a good band!

omg i just came back from watching their twisted logistics tour 06 in perth!!! :D
and it was soo good!!!! and their special guest was youth group...who sang forever young for the OC (tv show)!!! :D:D:D:D omg it was soo good! i was so happy! they had these massive balloons going around and people were just throwing it up in the air and stuff and they were filled with glitter so wen it popped all this stuff when everywhere. and omg his voice sounds so good live!!! :D:D:D like some artists sound horrible, but they were so good. and they were funny too!! omg omg omg:D:D:D lol i cant get over it.

Crazygiggles!! I just came back from Coldplay's Twisted Logic Tour in Singapore! And like you, I enjoyed it tremendously over here!~ Same, they had these huge yellow balloons filled with "confetti". Very pretty sight! And throughout the whole concert, everyone was so high! And I must really praise Chris Martin - so energetic throughout the show, prancing, kneeling, hopping skipping,lying down & singing etc etc. Towards the end, he even came off stage & ran to the audience at the back! Surprised everyone! Lucky girls over there, got to hug him! haha... But I totally agree, that his voice is amazing! Very strong & mesmerising haha..Live music always sound great, especially with such a cool band haha..Can't get enough... how I wish it was longer!

keke..it was good..yea..he ran into the audience at the perth show too! i was like NOO!!! come this way a bit more!!! lol..then he sprinted back to the stage cuz there were people running after him haha :laugh: scary..lol
i didnt even notice that chris went there..my friend noticed him walking there..but i didnt see him til the spotlight was on him..:blush: hehe...
but i was so cut..i forgot to charge my camera and like after taking3 pics..it ran out of batteries!!! :cry:..hmph..no fair! lol

I love Coldplay. Too bad I haven't seen them live. And they're not coming to Manila. :depresse:
Lukcy are those who got to see them perform live in Singapore and HK.
