the following extract is from the ninemsn news…

————————————

Much loved Australian actor Belinda Emmett has lost her battle with cancer, dying at the age of 32.

She died at Sydney’s St Vincent’s Hospital shortly after dawn with her husband, television host Rove McManus, and her family by her side.

“It is with great sadness we advise that Belinda Emmett’s battle with cancer has ended,” her family said in a statement.

Somehow this hit me hard again. Never expected her to die…so quickly, as i didn’t even know she had cancer.

Rove MacManus is her husband and i love that guy, his the best tv show host ever and i never miss his show “Rove Live” every tuesday night. And since I see him every Tuesday night, it seemed like we knew each other. He always talks about his wife on the show, so it seemed i knew his wife as well. Therefore the death of Belinda Emmett punched me in the face real hard.

Rove has cancelled his TV show for now, as he needs time to come face the reality. Which i am fully happy about, he need to take a break from the whole public and be on his own for a while.

I would just like to say R.I.P Belinda Emmett and best wishes from the bottom of my hard to Rove MacManus and his family, hopefully you guys will get through this just fine…peace.

R.I.P. It is extremely sad and unfortunate. I think for the people who think their lives suck they should look back, especially in this incident. People who want to live never get offered that choice, people who don't want to live will live as long as possible, be happy with what you have and be fortunate.

This piece of news came as a shock.. though she always looked frail, I thought she had recovered.

Poor Rove. Imagine marrying someone knowing that they wouldn't have long to live... I read a secondary quote of his.. that he would give it all up, hand back every award and dig ditches for a living if it meant curing her. That brought a tear to my eye. He stuck by her side through thick and thin, and I commend his courage.

Rest in peace, Belinda...

oh no =/ i hope Rove and her family are coping alright. I actually only found out today when my friend told me Rove Live wasn't on anymore for this year.. hmm but Rove obviously loved her very much, we'd go to any length of the people we love afterall. My thoughts go out to them.

He only had 3 weeks left before the summer non-ratings period. I most definitely wouldn't expect him to return to work this year.. gosh, his job is to make people laugh. When you've lost the love of your life, the last thing you want to do is laugh.

i heard that Rove's cancelled his shows for the rest of the year as he needs time....which is understandable..
awwww poor Rove and Belinda's family, i didnt even know she was sick and had cancer, and i didnt really know her but i like Rove.
to be battling something like breast cancer for 8+ years and then to eventually lose the battle, and at such a young age......just makes me sad. so shows we cant be too careful and to all the girls out there, if you find anything unusual, get it checked out asap!!! my friends' mum was just recently diagnosed with bc so she's super-worried and going around telling all her girl-friends to get anything lumpy checked out!

Rove and Belinda Emmett got married, she already had cancer. But because Rove loved her so much, I guess cancer didn't really matter and Rove was helping her to get through it. Just that fact made me feel that she had hope, so I was really shocked to hear about this news T_T;

Did anyone watch Belinda Emmett's brother perform at Carols in the Domain as a tribute to her on Saturday? It was so touching. I watched it on tv and I had tears in my eyes.
