Keanu Reeves Anyone??

I'm sure we are all familiar with keanu reeves, the character that act as Neo in the matrix series. So anyone wanna talk abt him?

I bought this FIRST mag, the moive mag from singapore, and it shows a report on him.
One of the line says,

"The 39 year old actor had suffered the devasting losses of first a still-born daughter and then a year later of girlfriend jennifer in a car accident. The shy, soft spoken actor has never commented on the deaths and had stayed out of the lime light since."

Oh boy, he must have suffered alot, to lost two of his beloved person in jus a year time.

i just saw the matrix revolutions last night... stayed in line for 2 hours too!!! (i live in LA so it came out yesterday...) keanu reeves is FINE!!! it was such an awesome movie. i read an interview on him in cosmopolitan magazine (US version) and he is such a genuine guy. good looks + good personality~!!! my type of guy!!! :love:

Yea...Matrix Revolutions was awesome. He's an okay actor. He did the fighting sequences pretty well. I liked Keanu Reeves the most for his movie "Speed" not the Matrix. Now that's where he looked REALLY GOOD! :love: I like his clean cut look, not the shaggy look with his hair long and beard.

I agree completely!!!! To me, Keanu was at his best in "Speed"....that was an awesome movie!! And he was smart to turn down Speed 2 too.... :bleh: Matrix Rev opened here yesterday, was actually planning to catch it but an urgent lab report beckoned...

About your second comment, nooooooo wayy!!! Keanu Reeves can be good-looking, but definitely not Johnny Depp style. Johnny Depp is just...... :love: and personally, I think Keanu's acting skill is far beneath Depp's.

So onto the subject of Keanu, I do know some about him, I went through a kind of obsession (not as big as Johnny Depp or Jay though) and "researched"... went to tons of sites.. and all that....... He's pretty good-looking but I have to admit.. his acting isn't the best. You can't really tell in the Matrix series because even his character Neo is a little detached and confused, but you can kinda tell from other movies and from certain parts even during the Matrix series that his acting isn't the best.. ><

I'm not saying that I don't like him, though. Because I do, I just don't think that he has the best acting, even though he's one of the most "popular" movie stars out there right now, and hit it really big with Speed and the Matrix series.

yeah, i think that he played the bass in Dogstar... they were doing a festival gig few years ago in Finland :love:
im so proud that he´s 1/4 chinese!!! (his dad is half hawaian and half chinese) yay!!!
and i think that he´s got the coolest name ever, keanu means "a cool breeze over the mountains" in hawaiian (i dont remember the exact translation... but that´s the meaning anyway)

I just watched the Matrix Revolutions today (2 days after the release)
and i thought that the movie was absolutely awesome!!! :excited: It's my favorite of the Matrix series... Even i didn't expect it to be that good... Anyway I think Keanu Reeves is a very good actor... Not only in the Matrix Series.. but in many other movies... :) :D

my friend once saw him on the streets of sydney when he was down here filming reloaded. when she told me i was like :shock: and :excited: :excited: :excited: !!!!

I remmeber some news that he gave some million dollars to some workers who worked on da set of 'Matrix Reloaded' i think. And that he lives in a hotel (?). Something like that. Yeah, i think he's a sweet polite gentleman type of guy.
I hope he's doing fine since dealing with death can be a really sad thing.
But yeah, looks like he'll have a good future ahead of him, i'm pretty sure he knows how to handle all the fame and money as well (since he seems to understand that money's not everything.. heard it from somewhere..)

he is supposed to look thinner and paler in matrix. if you know the story, you'll know that before he was contacted by Morpheus, Neo was a computer freak. besides work, he'd just stay in his apartment and fiddle with his computer. that's why he's pale. Neo wasn't supposed to be an outdoorsie person. you could even call the character a recluse.

but yeah, he definitely looks diff from when he was in speed...but still sexy.... :brows:

Matrix 3 was ok. I wasn't blown away. Keanu is pretty good looking, but getting kind of old...I think "mixed" children are very good looking in general =)

btw, someone close to him died a few years ago in a car accident, and now his sister is suffering from luekemia I heard. I also heard he wants to quit the movies because he wants to take care of his sister. Poor guy. But he did make around 300 million for Matrix 3 (I heard).

Well I watched all 3, and I must say I do like them....AND you guys should try to get hold of ani-matrix too, its pretty cool and gives a more complete story :)

I went into the theatre, with the attitude of "watching it for the sake of watching it" coz i've heard so many bad things about it, both from the reviews as well as friends dissing it. So I guess it had the effect of me expecting it to be the worst thing ever (but i just HAD to finish the series) so i ended up liking it. Its not a crap ending, I think it worked out. THats not to say I understand everything, all the insinuations and whatnot, but its a good enough ending for me :angel:

hmm...i don't think he was paid $300 mil either. perhaps the film grossed that much at the box office but not him alone.

cameron diaz is the highest paid actress this year according to Guiness WR. she got paid $42.2 mil in 2001...dunno know whether that's per film or the total she earned in that year...i think the total.

and adam sandler is currently the highest paid male actor with 49.5 mil.

however, i don't think this means that they are necessarily the highest paid per film...it prolly just means they made more movies than other actors.

yeah... I'm suprised at the bad review Revolutions got! Hardly any of my friends like it... perhaps it's the sad ending. Us movie-goers are just so used to happy, sappy endings, anything otherwise doesn't sit well with us. That's my theory anyways. :happy: I admit, right after i finished revs I was really bewildered. I kept expecting Trinity to somehow resurrect you know? But I realized that this was the only way it could've ended. Neo's life is based loosely on the life of Jesus, and in order to save humankind he had to die for them. And of course, if he dies Trinity must as well, for think of how much sadder it'd be if one of them survived without the other!

As much as I love him, I won't deny that I think his acting skills aren't superb... at all. :sweat: After becoming addicted to him in the matrix, I got a hold of some of his other movies, and realized that HE CAN'T ACT! Agree? Yes? No? He's good at the action bits, but his lines sound monotonous to me... So then why do I adore him so, you ask? I guess you could say I like him as a person. He's generous (gave each stuntman in the matrix a motorcycle), extremely well-learned, and passionate about his work and about improving. Oh and plus, he's just really hot.
