Even though sega has had a few downfalls in the past, they seem to have pulled out another great title, Initial D Street Stage!
I play Initial D arcade stage v3 all the time and this version seems to be almost exactly as good as the arcade stage. The game play is highly similar to the arcade version but small details like car shadow has been reduced from a detailed shadow to a shadow blob. Small details like that have been removed to keep the game from slowing down due to processor speed.
Although the Akina Snow course is missing, overall the courses are still there exactly like the arcade stage. Tuning takes a while, but the card system is a really nice but painful touch (to fully tune your engine you need 5 of the same card and there are 189 cards in total). Collecting all the cards takes a while, but luckly you can trade cards with a friend if they also have the game.
The wireless battle feature is intrestingly different from the arcade. There is the same sytle of battle as the arcade, a pass race, where if the other player gets passed or the other falls too far behind they lose.
Unlike the arcade game, things that help players get ahead like TST Eraser and things like that have been removed to prevent "cheating".
This game is definitely something that is worth buying if you are an Initial D (Jay Chou) fan and has a great replay ability. It is great for practicing if you want to beat your friends at the arcade!
