周杰伦昨晚在南京为潘玮柏演唱会站台当表演嘉宾，没有出席「第六届全球华语歌曲排行榜」颁奖典礼，即便人气 旺，专辑销售全亚洲第一，人没在现场的周杰伦只拿到一个小奖。而拿到无数音乐奖的周杰伦表示，得奖开心，没 有也不失落。

Yesterday, Jay was at Wilber’s concert in Nanjing as a guest performer, instead of attending the 6th Global Chinese Awards. Although Jay is popular and his album sales is first Asia wide, Jay, who was absent, only received one award. Jay, who won countless awards, expressed that he is happy to be awarded but he will not feel depressed if he did not receive any too.

Alfa music expressed that Jay’s work schedule has been arranged months ago and he had also promised to be Wilber’s guest long ago. Jay also received invitation from SHE to be their guest performer in Taiwan at the end of the year. However, due to the promotion of “Curse of the Golden Flower” and the shooting of advertisements, things are still being arranged.

From what I know, this is a medium size event in the Mandarin entertainment industry, though nothing comparable to GMA. Let's just say, I am also numbed by it. Maybe I've past the fangirl phrase of my life. I 'll just support him these days through buying his albums etc. :bleh:

honestly, when you look at the awards given out... it's like this "fen zhu rou" (distributing the bacon) sort of event. Everyone had a little something to go home with.

No insult to Andy Lau, but did he really do that well to earn him that many awards? Or is it because Andy Lau the Heavenly King is gracing the event?

I so argee with you lattae-jie. It's like everyone who came did leave with an award. I mean its great to see so many stars, but the big names aren't even present.

Jay is performing for Wilber in the his concert in Nanjing, while Leehom was filming his movie in HK. Jolin wasn't here either. I honestly don't think anyone of them look at this event of the same importance as the GMA.

As such, I think that Andy already knew he'll be receiving such awards, which is why he came, he haven't been to Singapore for ages and why would he come out of the blue? But no insult to Andy though, I respect him and love his music as well.

It's just like Yes 933's Golden Melody Awards, the stars that turn up are those that will eventually win something.

Didn't everyone that go recieve at least one award? Kind of like a party favor for boosting the show's ratings.

I don't really care about any award shows anymore except for the GMAs.

I know both Jay and Leehom only won 1 award each because neither attended. Jay for Best Composer and Leehom for best Producer.

And Yea, I agree, most of the people who went got an award. Just bcos they attended, many of the not so popular artistes got the award, instead of the more popular ones (who didnt attend).

thanks for the news, I think jay was right to be at Wilber's than that awards. He won one award? which category was it for? Jay's a pretty busy man, haha....but thats what he does for living so no surprises there..

well, if i was jay and had a basement chockfull of awards ranging from minor ones to big GMA ones and up, i wouldnt be too phased about not getting any more either. its like those olympic players, once theyve got the gold, silver, and bronze they really wouldnt care too much anymore. jay's probably working more on having fun doing his stuff than getting awards, which is a good thing...

In a way this is a good thing because the newer, less popular artists can have a stab at increasing their reputation & adding more awards to their fireplace mantel, right? :wink2: So it's a mutual benefit. :happy:

no, actually jay won 3 awards, another one for the best duet with lara for san hu hai. and yes, all the foreign stars that went won at least one award each. which means that they knew before hand that they won something. Plus i went there! it was ok, it would be much better if jay was there though..

i agree with you. its just not as rewarding or important as like winning the best male singer for the year and etc. it's just a list that shows you have a song in the top 20s. which seems to me pretty easy nowadays. anyways better luck next time jay! :-)

I think it is cool that Jay is okay with not winning awards. By not complaining, Jay showed that he isn't a selfish person who wants to win it all. It is a shame that he didn't win more, but in the end, it not about competition but more about the joy in making music and singing it.

The only popular ones from Taiwan that went was S.H.E.
They happened to have several events in Singapore such as autograph session, singapore expo event and the tong le hui. And such a coincidence that day was the award. They brought back 3 awards too.

I was quite angry with the way the prizes were given out too.. Seriously, I don't think Andy Lau deserves such amount of prizes.. And Jay deserves much more prizes than just one or two.. It's totally unfair.. :(

I totally agree with what most people are saying.....most award shows (even in the U.S.) are just turning into jokes. Movies and artists that are the best are often overlooked, and I guess it's just a way for the judges--or whoever--to flex their muscles and show they're in charge or something. And in all seriousness, why else would Andy Lau win sooooo many awards if it isn't rigged! But, it's good Jay doesn't really care...as long as he's happy with his music and his fans are happy, who cares what anyone else thinks! :)
