Australian Television Discussion.

Hi fellow Aussies! :-)
Okay guys what do you believe is the best Australian TV Network?
they must be free-to-air.
Here are some suggestions:
Ten
Seven
Nine
ABC
SBS
I personally like channel ten because they show good movies and have good programs like Simpsons and House. They also display footy!

Lol..its SUCH a hard choice..lol..theres like THREE options (excluding abc sbs) ..how am i going to choose..(that was sarcasm)..lol..incase no one recognised

okay..my fav is hm..channel nine?.lol.cus i love nine news..its the best!..

other than that..channel seven and ten are all good..man i hardly watch aussie tv now..cus mostly watch satellite..

i like seven when tennis ausopen is on...and then channel nine for nrl..n channel ten for futurama!..then i switch between today tonight and a current affair.

Have to be channel ten, i don't think i watch any other channels very much. Before I use to watch LOST on channel seven, but since i found out australia's delay broadcast of the show, i stoped watching it.

Best, Ten, because it has the footy! Lol... But anyways, I think they all have their uses, so when theres something you like, it can be the best for that 30mins or 1hour Hhaha.. :happy: But for the News, I like channel 10, since its one hour it gets through more things, sadly doesn't rate as well as seven and Nine programs.

In general i would probably choose channel TEN. because it's got most of the good shows most of the time..

cept when i come back from school and theres cartoons on ABC
or when thrs the occasionall nice move on Seven..

but yeah channel ten has everything!!

because i live in the NT, and we're 'not good enough' to get channel ten, i would have to say channel nine is the best in the NT. but dammit, why couldnt we be like everyone else in teh country and get channel ten too....:depresse:
i reckon sbs is alright though too, they show some pretty good movies sometimes and better still, no ad breaks during those movies!! lol...yes i know...watching sbs = sad....or so i've been told..

yeh abc and sbs dont have any ad breaks...but i hardly watch abc, i only watch it for the news if i missed channel 9 news. they seem to have a lot of like mystery/murder/crime solving series.....which i dont mind, i just hate it how its always old people with weird british and other accents acting..lol, but that could just be me...

oh and about the NT not having channel ten, well dont worry, we've complained...we always complain but our complaints seem to always fall on deaf ears....not much lil johnny can do if our own government doesnt give a rats about what we want..and i always thought that the local government we vote for is meant to listen to our say/opinions and to act on what we want done to (for example) make the territory a better place for everyone to live..like to keep us territorians happy...but obviously not. oops, sorry guys...going a bit off topic..

hey you guys heard about the new OC!? i thought it was all over, guess not my sisters gonna hog the TV :( yeah state elections are begining in Victoria, without ad breaks those networks would be broke or have crappy shows, so be greatful for them!

Hey, the non rating period on TV is starting soon, all the good shows will go off air for a while, what do you think they will put back on :) hopefully they get back "Everybody Loves Raymond" :D i love that show :D

Oh, anyone saw this new show on channel ten? called "so you think you can dance". It's so awesome, the dance moves they do is..WOW

lol, im the opposite of you... i absolutely loved Friends, was soo devastated when they stopped filming. but i never watched much of Everybody Loves Raymond. like i watched a few episodes but never watched it every single time it was on. Freinds was like the best. well sorry but thats what i think anyways....lol :bleh:

Okay guys i've decided to change this thread to a Australia Television Discussion thread, from now on you guys can discuss about anything related to Australian Television/Media. This includes certain celebs, shows and news.

CHANNEL TEN for sure! channel seven and nine are so boring, there's nothing to watch on them. well channel nine shows better movies, but channel ten generally has something for everyone.
Channel 7 and 9 are only boring to you because they're aimed towards a different segment of the population i.e. mature adults

Channel 10 caters for the younger crowd hence why they show programs like The OC, The Simpsons, Aust Idol, Rove etc. compared to shows like Who wants to be a Millionaire?, Temptation, The Panel (oh how I miss this show) on channel 9.

I must be getting old, because I'm starting to actually enjoy watching ABC news and Channel 9 programs. I've been a member for nearly 4 years and I've matured so much since I first started posting (I was about 16)! It's so surreal!

my favourite channel's still 10.. but considering they aired my favourite TV show at a time where nobody can watch it [Veronica Mars 10:30pm fridays.].. i'm a lil annoyed at them.. It's an awesome show, but because of dodgy airing times, i've resorted to getting the episodes off the net, to keep up with the US airings of them..

Are there any more Veronica Mars fans here? I read in the TV guide that VM holds the title for the most illegally downloaded tv show in australia... :D

I like channel 10 cos it has shows like:

* Supernatural
* House
* Criminal Intent (with Detective Goran)
* NCIS

and...cos it shows the weather faster than the other channels.

But I can't stand Australian shows - they're rife with bad acting and terrible scripts. Blech :rasp:

LOL but don't they have the 4pm news now on channel 7 now? That's why channel 10 couldn't use that phrase "first at 10".

But then again each state is different because we don't even have the same news programmes :tongue:

Cindy: To my knowledge, there is no news at four. Even if there was, I wouldn't be home to catch it seeing as I don't finish work til 5pm.

But you're over in the eastern states so it's a bit different.

And I missed Supernatural on Monday :cry: Did anyone catch it?

Is anyone watching "So you think you can dance?"

I watch it every week without fail. It's actually really interesting to see the different styles of dance. I like to interpret contemporary dancing as dancing with no shoes xD

I'm also very much into America's Next Top Model, I never knew how much work went into modelling o.o and Tyra Banks is so friggin GORGEOUS!

hhmmmmmm i watched a bit of 'so you think you can dance' the other night, id have to say im a bit tired of the format of 'perform and judge' but...i guess its differnt cos its dancing, and what else can you do??? anyway...

i dont really watch tv now, i used to watch earl and betty and house and supernatural, but i theyre all stopped (well, earl is back but not a good time slot for me, and supernatural season is over) and yeh..too busy for tv! but i watch hk drama wheeeee! haha its so good !

and cindy, somehow i think the model show is a show mainly aimed at perverted men or at least the show is just eye candy for men...i think it lacks anything really interesting except the girls themselves...and dude, wtf is with that african american man/woman with the mushroom hair/bowl cut? i saw him/her and i was like WTFFF is that man or woman ? AND THAT IS HORRIBLE!!!!
