I guess the hot topic now is Rain's world tour concert 2007 in Singapore on 22 January 2007 is going to cost $888 for the best seats. The cheapest ticket will cost $188.

Will you pay $888 to watch Rain? Chances of his sweat flying all over you? :excited:

Frankly speaking, i'm still deciding if i should go for $888 or stay at home to watch his DVD.

Since this is Rain's 1st Singapore concert, i dont want to pay $188 to see an ant size Rain dancing. But paying $888 seems far too expensive as i can use that money to travel to Taiwan and back twice! :worry:

What do you think?

Haha, I heard about this!

$888 is really crazy! I think only those rich Japanese ajummas can afford it. Even the cheapest tickets of $188 is too expensive for me! As what you've mentioned Bi will look very puny from the $188 seats.

I think the reason of the tickets being so expensive is because the production fees of the concert is divided among the seats in Indoor Stadium. And our Indoor Stadium is pretty small, so thats the reason why it's so expensive.

Luckily I'm not a Bi fan if not I'll have to scrimp and skip my meals just to watch him! :bleh:

Oh my goodness!!!!!!!!!! That's gotta be one of the most expensive concerts alive! Who'd pay that amount of money to watch him close up?

I mean, it's not as if you'll get a kiss from him sitting so front, right?

10-22-2006, 04:14 AM
Haha, that's funny. I wouldn't even pay that much for a kiss. That's pretty sad.. the $188 seems a bit more reasonable. If you had a really good camcorder or binoculars, that might help.

I still think it's like ridiculous for an $888 ticket. But I guess they're just playing on the fact that people would even pay for an air ticket to fly overseas to see his concert. So there.

When my friend told me the price I was like, I bet it's a typo. In the end I saw the news in the ne3wspaper & they even interviewed some South-Korean housewife who said she was definitely gonna get the $888 ticket.

Gaahhh it's mad fangirl-ness

Even King of Pop or Madonna's Concert Ticket didn't cost that much...Thou both of them set the record for having the most expensive ticket pricing so far in History.

Anyway, I think the $888 are for those really flithy rich, and Hardcore of all hardcore fans of RAIN.

If it was $218 for best ticket, I will buy the tickets for my GF's sake, cuz she really love RAIN alotZ...

 $888?! When a friend told me about it when we were on the way to Lee Hom's concert yesterday night (which was FAB!!), I was like, no way, you're kidding. I haven't been reading the news so had no idea he was even coming.

Even King of Pop or Madonna's Concert Ticket didn't cost that much...Thou both of them set the record for having the most expensive ticket pricing so far in History.
Yeah, I said the same thing too! And honestly, I would not pay so much for a concert ticket.

One of my must-do-before-I-die is to watch U2 live in concert at least once in my life and even then, I would *never* pay $888!

woah ... $888 ... I'm sorry, but I wouldn't pay that much just to see someone perform, even if it is Rain, unless it was someone I really, REALLY liked (*cough*jay*cough*) and it was their last concert or something ...

Well Rain has some really rich Japanese and Korean fans. So I guess the front seats will probably be occupied by them. But that's pretty suprising.

He's having a concert in Las Vegas this xmas and his tickets were even more expensive than JAckie Chueng or Andy Lau.

icetears, Hi-five! I thought its a typo error too at first. I was thinking no way!!! $888 is crazy!!! Then someone else was joking about the $888 being a family of 4 combo. Simply craziness.

Even when concerts are priced at the normal range, artist and their company already made big bucks. Why did they do this to fans who really want to see their idol? Imagine students... who can afford? As a working adult, i cant part with $888 just to breathe the same air as Rain for the few hours. :lolabove: And watching rain, you cant really understand him. So the important thing is to SEE him. How can you really see him if you dont get the $888 tix? :rasp:

Get that concert DVD! :lolabove:

I thought it is ridiculous to pay so much for his concert...

$300 plus for the best seats; I'll probably go for it if I love Bi to bits..

For $888, I wouldn't go even if it is Jay; unless he is going to strip naked or what...

I wonder how the whole setup of the stadium and the rundown of the concert is going to be like....

unless it was someone I really, REALLY liked (*cough*jay*cough*) and it was their last concert or something ...
Honestly, I wouldn't pay $888 even if it was someone's last concert. Unless they throw in a return air ticket and a chance to have a one-to-one dinner with the celebrity, then MAYBE

i was totally shocked when i heard about these news couple weeks ago!!!

I was telling my friends..he is not even a chinese..why 888?? haha..i thought it would be ard CNY period for his concert..

frankly speaking..i am very interested to see how well his tickets are selling..i bet there are tons of Rain's fans in Singapore..but how many can afford $888?

Luckily Jay's tickets are still affordable..

Muahaha! I also thought it was a typo error! Or you know maybe the currency rate is different or something. Haha I think even those crazy fans of Rain won't pay for that amount unless they are really RICH $$$$$!!! It's quite ridiculous you know, and what if the concert turns out to be so disappointing! I think those rich people from Indonesia/HK will fly over to Singapore to catch his concert though.

Haha I might just go to the airport and catch a glimpse of him. But any idea what's his flight and all that??? \:

What if the stadium that day is so empty, will Rain feel embarrassed or anything?

Seriously, the first time i saw the news i was actually looking for some fullstop in between the 888. i mean it's really far too ridiculous to pay that money to go for his concert!! seriously i don't think Rain's concert is worth that amount of money. his management company is just making of his current reputation to get more money out from fans or those filthy rich people. the cheapest ticket 188 will be seated like at the balcony which is a no way to pay 188 to sit there man. so i seriously think that the ticketing for his concert is totally unreasonable!! worst pricing which i have ever seen in singapore!! who would pay that money to see him?? i read on the newspaper that the management claim that they put lots of effort in preparing the concert (duh! which singer don't!) and the mic and the sound effect and stuff are the top of the top but i think all these will only add up to like 20% of the total earning then another 20% for the venue payment, travelling. they will pocket in like 50% considering a few % for some other unforseen circumstances or what so ever. that's like really alot for them to pocket in. they are really good in squeezing fans money! blood sucker!!

I think it's totally ridiculous. i thought my friend saw wrongly when she told me that. i was like, wth? like, my goodness, i can go on an overseas trip already! but i guess those rich tai-tai's and those fan-girls living in bungalows are definitely going to buy the 888 ones. 188 tix, as you guys have said, would be quite a waste because rain's gonna look like a raindrop from those seats. so i don't see the point. but thank god i'm not a rain fan or else i'll probably cry to death cos i won't get to see him. happy saving up, rain fans.

10-22-2006, 04:18 PM
hahha..
so someone starts the talk for this already??
well... a friend of mine actually asked me whether i'm interested to catch his concert.. even the cheapest.. >.<
BUT unfortunately.. i don't like him..
even if i do.. i wouldn't be so crazy as to bought such an exp tix
it's not worth it.. NOT even it's Jay..
so i love Jay lots, to bits..
and so i'm working.. earning my own money..
but i wouldn't be so crazy as to buy his $888 or $188..
which is ridiculous..

and like some of you said..
it's not as if you get to kiss him..
i dun think i need to pay to be kiss too.. :lolabove:

icetears-
10-23-2006, 09:18 AM
Liwei; Yeah I can kiss you for free :bleh: LOL.

So everyone finds it ridiculous huh. Sheesh if I could say it I'd just say he's a big shot. He's earning so much alreayd & still wants to qiao1 zha4 (Sorry I can't remember the English word) his fans :|

Anyway, any jcnetters catching his concert though?

Besides Jay and Lee Hom, I'm a hugh fan of Rain and I will definitely be gg for his concert, $888 is worth the money is you have it but I won't be gg for it. If you check out the sets and who his choregrapher and producer are you will know why you need to pay so much for his concert.

cacky
10-23-2006, 01:24 PM
Gosh ... even his cheapest tickets are more expensive than LeeHom's most expensive tickets. So ridiculous. I just wonder if they've done their market research before pricing the seats at that price.

I mean ... this is Singapore ... people can be rather stingy with parting their money when it comes to concerts, no matter how crazy a fan they are. If it's Japan or Hong Kong, maybe ... Also, the market here is smaller.

And like some of you say, that money can probably take me to a 2-way trip to Bangkok and live like a princess. I wonder if at the end, will the buyers of those tickets end up to be those sponsors or some retailers who end up giving it away as lucky draw prizes.

Even King of Pop or Madonna's Concert Ticket didn't cost that much...

Who is the King of Pop? Michael Jackson? Or Jacky Cheung?

For $888, I wouldn't go even if it is Jay; unless he is going to strip naked or what...

You sure you'd wanna pay $888 to watch Jay strip and perhaps going home feeling disappointed coz' he didn't live up to your expectations? :shifty:

Jam
10-24-2006, 04:42 AM
I won't pay $888 even if Jay is going to strip on his concert.

I heard from radio that they are bringing the whole stage from korea. Which includes a helicopter thingy and some other stuffs...

Jay brought his pink piano to Singapore... he didn't charge us that much though.

Perharps they should consider doing a 2 day concert and bring the price down maybe from $888 to $488? :brows: I may consider paying for $488 to get splashed by his sweat.

i cant even afford.

even if i can, i wouldnt pay for 888. i can have lotsa things with that sum of money.. personally i felt that it's really a waste to spend it on concerts.

dawnyee
10-24-2006, 02:20 PM
In my opinion... 888 is freakkin expensive!!

That is like thew most expensive concert of the century.. how can they charge us at that price considering the faqct that most of his fans are students or those who have just started work. No way they can afford that. Not to mention that I'm pretty sure his record company would cash in as much as possible in his merchandise as well. real blood sucker, man!

I'm hoping they'll change their mind or charge a cheaper rate in KL concert. :brows:

10-24-2006, 03:22 PM
Yeah $888 is really too much. Even if it's someone I really really really really adored and loved to bits (LIKE JAY), I wouldn't pay that amount of money. \:

And it's not like Rain's concert would be you know, SUPERB SUPERB kind of thing.

dawnyee
10-24-2006, 03:46 PM
eerrrr... I think it is gonna be superb.
I saw the showcase and it was amazing.

But then again, charging $888 ... I'm speechless ~~

10-24-2006, 09:15 PM
Totally crazy. $888 can be someone's monthly salary after deduction of CPF.
That's wayyyy too ex. Luckily i don't love RAIN to core, only a teeny weeny bits so i can forgo his concert, it won't hurts.
Plus, I ever paid $183 for a concert where i got a seat at row 4. Now the same range for balcony seats??? No no no.......

bueytahan
10-27-2006, 07:48 AM
girls would probably pay $888 if they get to bring him home wouldn't they? :brows: maybe it was priced at $888 for as some auspicious figure as it means "Fa fa fa" in mandrin (meaning prosperity) ?

guess i would give it a miss, since jay is having a concert next year too. got to save up for jay's concert you know .. students like me don't have much money to attend two concerts in a year

I can only guess that the top priced tickets would be sold to corporations or the such. I can't imagine any single person paying $888 for a concert ticket. I mean, it's not going to be a 24 hour concert, is it?

I just saw the papers today...
His concert in the Las Vegas is so much cheaper!
The most expensive ticket is only around $400 plus..
More than 50% lesser than we are paying here!!! :-x

Apparently, they have brought down the price for the most expensive tickets.

The prices are as follows:
$488, $388, $288, $188.

Visit sistic (http://www.sistic.com.sg/cms/events/index.html?content=592) for more details.

But I don't think it's still worth watching Bi from the balcony seats for $188 where I can enjoy a great view of Lee Hom at the best seats with even some cash to change!

Wait so the $488 arn't even for the very front ones? What are the front ones reserved for?

Starylosophy

Blocks PA, PB, PC and PD seems to be like the $688/$888 seats.

But they're not opened to the public. Maybe they are reserved for the fan clubs from all over the world? Or perhaps for those rich ajjummas from Korea and Japan. :bleh:

haha I guess if you ( or your father or husband) were a millionaire, you just might be willing to fork out that money.

I dunno, there are people who especially fly to another country just to see their idol, so I guess there will definitely be people out there who would be willing to pay.

I think those rows are for the media, official fan clubs and sponsors. Can you imagine if you paid $488 for a ticket and some other person whose parents work for one of the sponsors gets better seats for free?? They might not evenn be fans of Rain and will literally sit through the concert...

Erm..
i dunno how many Bi's diehard fans are here...
but i'm juz making some very sincere remarks..
we all knw that he's known for his sexy dance moves and looks..
where else, his singing is ok but not worth until u spend $188 juz to listen (* it's the most affordable and yet the furthest, so u will only get to listen )
I'm pretty sure when the time comes there will either be no one sitting , hence, back ppl moves onwards or they lower down the price again

so u fans out there.. keep ur money and wait :bleh:
u might got lucky and they lower the prices after they found that there's no one buying.. :P

I came to know that 100 seats of the $888 and $688 tickets are offered to Rain's fanclub members at a lower price, USD150 and USD200. And the other seats are sold at their original prices.

Rain might be good, but I'll never fork out that much for a concert for him. If the price range are $120-$300, I think fans still don't mind paying for them. But this current price range is quite crazy.

I just saw his concert advertisement on The Straits Times at the home section. It's a full page b/w advertisement. I was wondering if they needed to make a full page advertisement?

Don't think he has so many fans in Singapore to support him...Especially with such prices.I guess they realised it now and wants to retify the situation. Wonder how many tickets are sold already...With $888 I can like go for 4 other concerts, have the best seats and listen to singers who are better.

When I saw this news in the papers, I thought they are just cooking up some news. I never thought it would be that expensive. Although I would like to watch his concert, but I don't think I will pay so much. It is simply too expensive for normal working people and students
The other time when he held one in Bangkok, some friends actually flew over and attended the concert. And I think the total cost is even less than $888.
I can't understand why it is so expensive in Singapore.

As a matter of fact, I've already got around 20 people (My friends and my friends' friends), who have gotten that $888 ticket to RAIN's concert, most of them got the privillege of their parents footing the bill...

*Rich people.... ARh!*

Come to think of it, it's not really that "expensive" to people who are made about their idols...

People can book a few mini-buses a few days to follow their idols around when they come to Singapore, and some even went to the extend to stay in the hotels their idols are staying. All these just to be as close to their Idols are possible...

SO! I think $888 might be just peanuts to these people...
